"Do you like the room?" asked Mars. "I ordered Roshan to take things from the king's palace to decorate this chamber. We didn't have anything for a female in this castle."

Emmelyn shook her head, and her face looked sullen. "I don't like the sheets. The color is too soft, very ordinary..."

Mars frowned in surprise. "You don't like it? Roshan said the colors and patterns are popular among ladies from the noble families."

Emmelyn rolled her eyes. "I think you already know that I am different from most of the aristocratic girls in Draec. I don't like ordinary stuff like this ..."

"Ordinary?"

"Yes, they are ordinary. If many people like it and have it, then it will be nothing special and boring," said Emmelyn curtly.

"Oh ..." Mars looked around and nodded. "Fine. You don't like the sheets because it's ordinary. Got it. How about the others?"

Emmelyn pursed her lips.

Jeez .. she didn't think hearing this man's voice talking to her would make her chest feel happy!

She then decided to complain about the beautiful four-poster teak bed. She said it was not attractive and felt that it restricted her movement because it had four pillars.

"What if I get out of bed with my head still feeling sleepy and I hit the hard wooden post?" Emmelyn said.

Mars seemed to think for a moment and finally nodded. "Okay, that makes sense."

"Then, the wooden floor felt rough on my feet as I walked barefoot." Emmelyn shrugged and complained about every single thing in his room.

"You are really outrageous.. How could you send me to live in a room that looks like a hunter's cabin in the woods? Only hunters use wooden floors to set up simple huts in the forest to stay temporarily in while they hunt."

"The windows are barred with railings and make me feel like I am in prison," Emmelyn said again.

"The curtain is indeed expensive velvet, but it's too thick. It keeps the air from circulating if I want to open the window," she added.

"The desk isn't big enough. So, it's not comfortable to write."

Mars massaged his forehead. "I think the desk is actually bigger than the one in my chamber."

"Oh, really? Then why when I sit there to write, it felt so small?" replied Emmelyn stubbornly.

Mars looked around him and chuckled. He became disappointed with the butler, who had always been reliable. 

Why did Roshan become incompetent when it came to preparing a chamber for Emmelyn?

Emmelyn was absolutely right. The four-poster bed was dangerous for the occupant of this room. Then, the velvet curtains shouldn't be too thick.

He made a mental note to order Roshan to replace all the things Emmelyn didn't like.

"All right, I'll have Roshan replace everything," said Mars. 

After letting out a long sigh, the man slowly unbuttoned his shirt one by one. His face was flat as he asked Emmelyn. "Are you ready?"

The girl shook her head. "I feel so cold. I want to drink wine first. Do you want one?"

She took a jug filled with wine that she had asked Roshan earlier and poured it into a cup. She lifted the cup filled with wine and held it out towards Mars.

The man seemed to think for a moment. He then stopped his movements to open his shirt and accepted the cup filled with wine. 

Emmelyn smiled with satisfaction when she saw him accept the wine. She then took another cup and poured herself some red wine.

Before Emmelyn had a chance to sip her wine, she gasped as she saw Mars down his wine quickly and then put his cup down on the table.

"Gosh ... so fast?" the girl grumbled. "Are you that thirsty???"

Mars looked at Emmelyn in puzzlement. "You said you are feeling cold. Why do you take so long to drink it?"

"I ..." Emmelyn pursed her lips. "I'm a princess, of course, I have to behave according to my status. I can't drink fast like comfort women in brothels."

Mars frowned at Emmelyn's words. "Comfort women in brothels? How do you know how they drink their wine?"

Emmelyn rolled her eyes. She had had to stop by brothels several times on her way here because drinking wine was much cheaper there than in a regular shop.

The brothel owners wanted their visitors to get drunk and stay over to sleep with one of the girls they sold. 

Of course, Emmelyn never slept with them. She only took advantage of the discounted drinks.

"I don't know, I'm just guessing," said Emmelyn. She then sat gracefully on her chair across from Mars and took a slow sip of her wine.

Mars seemed impatient to see the girl really took her sweet time to drink her wine. The man was exhausted from all-day training with his troops, and he just wanted to fulfill his duty tonight to his country, to reproduce.

After his work was done, he would call it a night and rest.

"I'll wait in bed." Finally, the man could not take it anymore. He then took off his clothes and got into bed. 

Emmelyn was shocked to see it. She didn't expect Mars to be so cold toward her, and would actually come just to have sex.

Ugh ...!

Annoyed, she finished her wine, then poured the wine back into her cup.

Quickly, she drank it up. 

"Hey .. why do you drink so much?" asked Mars in astonishment. "Isn't one cup enough?"

"I told you, I'm feeling cold ..." scolded Emmelyn. She did not heed the man and immediately poured more wine into her cup, and again, downed it in one go.

Damn .. this wine is really delicious, she thought to herself.

Draec was really fortunate to have a colony like Southberry that could pay them a tribute this good. Wintermere was only a small kingdom by the sea that made its main revenue from trading. Their ports were important to connect Terra and other continents.

Emmelyn really liked wine, and she had never tasted wine as good as here.

Huh ... she had to drink as much as possible before she became pregnant and could no longer enjoy alcohol.
