Samsara Online Chapter 293

"That's right, for those who reach the final special map, the battle is completely forbidden!" Jade nodded and said in a serious voice, "As you well know, this mission is about freeing a small elemental beast that was sealed in the past. When entering the special dungeon Prison of the Snow Fox and saving the pitiful little snow fox, you not only need strength to fight monsters that will block your path.... You also need compassion, you also need to be smart... So, each of the groups must have at least one member capable of passing this little intelligence test."
Although many wanted to reply, none found the right words to do so they could only stay silent. The little fairy's words made a lot of sense after all, since the mission was about saving a small animal, being compassionate, and needed to have enough intelligence to free it. After all, it wasn't possible that one just needed to get to the end of the map, carry the little snow fox, and come out triumphant, was it?
Jade seemed satisfied when she saw everyone unable to reply to her words. With a proud smile, she nodded and pulled out a bigger mana stone as she explained, "I will ask a question and that question can be answered by whoever lights their mana stone first. In the event that 60 seconds pass without an answer, a mana stone will be illuminated by this higher mana stone; that person will be forced to answer.... Moreover, each group can only fail a total of five times! If one of the representatives answers five questions wrong, then that group will lose the qualifications to challenge this mission during today's day and will only be able to return twenty-four hours later!"
Jade looked at everyone for a moment and asked, "Does anyone have any questions?"
The place was silent for a few seconds before one person finally stood up and asked, "Although I think I know the answer, I'll just ask in case but.... What happens in case two mana stones light up at the same time?"
Jade nodded and slowly explained, "It's not impossible for something like that to happen, even if the chances of something like that happening are low, it's not zero.... In case that more than one mana stone lights up at the same time, then it will depend on how much mana the player imbues the stone that belongs to them. As simple as that; the brightest stone will decide who has the right to respond."

"Isn't that a bit unfair?" an assassin couldn't help but complain and point out, "Mages and priests clearly have higher mana than the rest of the professions so they will be able to use a greater amount of mana than us!"
"Em, it's actually unfair." Jade nodded, agreeing with the assassin.
"Then...!"
"But!" Jade interrupted him and asked, "The world you come from is fair?"
The assassin was speechless.... Was the world he came from fair? He knew very well that it was by no means fair. He himself had to work eight hours every day from Monday to Saturday to feed his family while other people spent hundreds of thousands on a woman's handbag. How could such a world be fair?
Seeing that the assassin did not respond, Jade continued, "Since there are no more questions, then let's move on!"
Jade raised her small white hand as bright as the purest sea pearl and a green-colored scroll appeared. She held it up and as her eyes shone with amusement, she asked the first question:
"What is that which belongs to you but which in reality others use more than you?"
Puzzles!
Only now did everyone finally understands clearly what kind of competition this was. Before, the vast majority thought that Jade's questions would be about mathematics or history, but they were all incredibly wrong and what none of them expected was that the little fairy floating several meters above the ground would actually start the competition with a strange puzzle.
Xie Feng frowned and fell into deep contemplation.... Something that belonged only to him but that others used the most...?
Flash!
After about twenty seconds, the first mana stone glowed and Jade gave the first word to that person.
The person who had imbued mana into his mana stone was a stout man who wore a round shield on his back and a large bushy beard covered much of his face. Upon receiving okay's signal, the stout man frowned and replied:
"That which belongs only to me but which in reality others use the most...my marriage bed."
Jade: "..."
After a moment of silence.
"HAHAHAHA!"
"Damn man hahahahaha!"
"LOL"

Surprisingly, perhaps purely by coincidence, most of the representatives were men. They probably all thought the competition would be a battle and, although not all, most of the female players had chosen life support or priestess classes rather than classes to fight on the front lines. After all, it was true that women were more likely to be scared of the grotesque appearance of the monsters.
Precisely since most of them were men, everyone could not help but burst out laughing at the stout man's clear joke. Even Xie Feng could not help but laugh and shook his head in amusement.
After practically a minute of constant laughter, the situation calmed down and Jade was finally able to speak again.
"Unfortunately, the answer is incorrect... The correct answer is 'our name'" She said with a poker face and pointed to the player who had answered earlier.
Swoosh!
A beam of light shot out at top speed towards the stout man causing the crowd to freak out. Could it be that this little fairy was actually enraged and was going to claim the life of the poor guy who tried to play a joke!?
However, just as the man from before closed his eyes and waited for death, the jade voice rang out again, "One of your five tries just expired."
Opening his eyes slowly, the stout man saw that above his head was a small floating star the size of a fist.
Jade, seeing everyone's confusion, explained, "That mark represents how many wrong answers each of you has. When the mark reaches number five, the group represented by that person will be automatically disqualified and teleported to the central plaza of Eminentis City."
"Let's continue."
The players stopped laughing and became serious. No more jokes. Every shot was precious to them and the rewards for clearing every event in the system was undoubtedly precious to let go just for a nonsense; not everyone was willing to waste a precious opportunity like the man before.
"When I am young I am tall, when I grow old I am short. With life I glow and my enemy is the wind. What am I?"
After a minute, no one managed to answer successfully and a mana stone in the crowd automatically lit up. Unfortunately, the person chosen did not know the answer or otherwise he would have already answered before the time ran out. That person also lost a life.
"The correct answer is: A candle!" Jade smiled and announced.
Xie Feng almost fell to the ground when he heard the correct answer. For the love of god! What was with all these strange questions and nonsensical answers!!!? Xie Feng felt like calling the administration and complaining; but since he knew his cries wouldn't reach anyone's ears, he sensibly decided to cry silently to himself.
"Third question! Don't let me down please!" Jade laughed, clearly she was enjoying the black faces of everyone present!
"I'm not alive but I grow, I need air to live but I have no lungs, and even though I have no mouth, water kills me. who am I?"
Flash!
Not even a second had passed after Jade finished reading the third question when a mana stone flashed.
"Oh?" She exclaimed with clear surprise on her face.
Not only was Jade surprised, but all the players also looked at the light source in surprise and were even more surprised when they saw the person holding the glowing mana stone.
"Is that her?" muttered Xie Feng, clearly surprised.
Xie Feng never expected that just like him, Yao Mei was chosen as the representative of the group formed by the core members of the God of Heaven guild!
Her crimson red hair shone under the sun's rays, highlighting her beautiful face even more. A dark-colored robe with golden details hugged her clearly overgrown body for her age. However, Yao Mei's face was as cold as the purest frost in the world.
Yao Mei ignored everyone's gaze and a single word came out of her mouth:
"Fire."

Return, Synopsis In the Triangulum Galaxy, one of a number of galaxies controlled by the Empire of The DARK LORD, JENNA OF CHRISTOS finds herself on the run after she killed a patrolman. Becoming pilot on a pirate craft, several years later she and other pirates are devastated by attacks of the Imperial Legion and are now trying to regroup. Seeking funds that will help them hide out for a time, their leader THURGOD DRISTA and JENNA meet with a PROFESSOR of galactic history who gives them information, a map and an ancient artifact described as a singing stone. He tells them that this could lead them safely to a legendary treasure trove, called THE DARK LORDS HOARD, on the forbidden planet TRILLA. The hoard is supposed to belong to the ruler of the empire who vanished close to one thousand years before and is presumed to be gone. The treasure is believed to be hidden in a tunnel accessible from the planet surface but no one who has gone into the tunnel has ever come out alive or sane. Leaving the pirate hideout immediately after the meeting and avoiding a major attack by the legion, the pirates travel to the galactic rim for supplies and to leave a false trail. With them they take the PROFESSOR and ILISA, a serving girl. However CAPTAIN TRASKA the commander of a Legions task force called Detachment T, has guessed the pirates intentions and tracked them to the rim. The pirates leave on their next leg to TRILLA unaware that CAPTAIN TRASKA with his force of heavy cruisers, is already there and lying in wait for them. Allowing the pirates to land, including an unexpected second pirate ship, CAPTAIN TRASKA sends a force of troopers to capture both craft and their guards. Before they can do this, THURGOD, the PROFESSOR and others, numbering thirteen altogether and led by JENNA entered the tunnel complex. JENNA, warned by ILISA that she must be the one to hold the singing stone, carries it in the hope that it will guide her and her companions past the many dangers in the tunnel. Shortly afterward, VIS VISTRICER the Legions overall commander travels to Trilla in an armoured planetoid, a spacecraft as large as a moon. On his arrival at TRILLA, VIS VISTRICER meets with CAPTAIN TRASKA but before they can do much, they are both surprised by one of the LADIES OF THE CIRCLE who is waiting for the outcome of what is happening in the tunnels. In the tunnels, JENNA leads THURGOD and the rest of party through many dangers and tests. Four are killed in the tunnels but the rest finally come to their goal where, to their surprise, in a cavern they meet the DARK LORD who is alive and very well. He has been waiting for them so he can return to the Empire. JENNA finds out that the patrol officer is alive and that she and many others have been manipulated all this time by the DARK LORD. She also finds out that ILISA, whose real name is JURA, is a member of the CIRCLE OF LADIES and was sent to teach JENNA many years before on her home planet of Christos. The DARK LORD restores and fulfills a promise to release JURA from her service as a LADY. He next has each pirate declare their own fate and takes them to the surfaces of TRILLA. There, at their election, he executes two of the pirates while JENNA is pardoned and some have the death penalty reprieved. The rest will face the courts of the Legion. VIS VISTRICER is raised to the rank of STAR COMMANDER, the highest rank in the Legion while TRASKA becomes a COMMODORE. The DARK LORD returns to Tihab, the administrative centre of the empire. There he takes up his residence in a surprised and disconcerted imperial palace. JENNA is returned by COMMODORE TRASKA to the planet Christos where she is welcomed by the planets rulers and her family, some of whom were aware of some of what was happening.
