Chapter 552: Heavenly Demons Will Never Be Slaves!
Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios
Climbing the mountain?
What kind of strange request is that?
Du Shuren rejected it immediately. However, when a sword with the power of lightning pressed against his back, he could not even dodge…
This person is an expert.
Du Shuren’s demonic heart tightened. The Heavenly Demon’s main body completely hid in the Primordial Spirit of the Dao Body, making it look normal. It was trying its best to hide its special traits.
“Fellow Daoist, what do you mean?”
“Please.” Li Changshou made an inviting gesture. The sword in his hand was filled with lightning, but he had no intention of retracting it.
Du Shuren frowned. “What do you and I have…”
Ss—
The tip of the sword pierced through Du Shuren’s clothes without any resistance. A small hole appeared on his Dao Body and a small blood pillar spurted out.
Du Shuren glared at Li Changshou. Just as he was about to glare at him, he sensed the cold killing intent behind the young Daoist’s smile.
He was exposed?
How is that possible?
He was different from ordinary Skyfiends. He was directly created by his mother. Using the standards of the living beings of the Primordial World, he was like a noble among the Skyfiends.
This Dao Body had been nurtured by his “mother” for many years. Since he was young, he had planted a crack in his Dao heart. When he invaded his Dao heart, it was smooth and unobstructed. How could he be exposed?
“Please.”
Li Changshou urged again. The sword swayed slightly.
Du Shuren turned around and glared at Li Changshou. His eyes were cold, but he flung his sleeve.
“How vulgar! Since you invited me to climb the mountain, you have to give me a boundary.”
“East.”
Li Changshou said calmly. He placed the sword on Du Shuren’s back and muttered in his heart.
Is this fellow possessed by an otherworldly demon?
However, it was slightly different from the otherworldly demons he had encountered in the Minor Chiliocosm at the border of the Xuandu City. He felt that the otherworldly demons did not seem too cold.
Speaking of which, why did the Heavenly Dao control the black leopard to lure me over?
It was unlikely that he would specially make a trip here to destroy a Skyfiend. That was something that could be done with a bolt of lightning. He also had to beat around the bush and use a Dharma treasure like the black leopard…
At that moment, Li Changshou also felt that this fellow was different.
It seemed that he had many thoughts and thoughts. His eyes were filled with light.
An otherworldly demon that was not far away ran from the Chaos Sea to the five continents. What kind of schemes did he have?
This Minor Heavenly Dao…
The “Small” Heavenly Dao was not a derogatory term.
This time, it was the will of the Heavenly Dao that led the black leopard to “encounter” the otherworldly demon. It had nothing to do with the Dao Ancestor. It was the same will that made him dream that the Red Lotus was about to be born and the Patriarch Nether River was about to revive.
Compared to the Dao Ancestor, who could casually interfere with the Heavenly Dao but would not be affected by the Heavenly Dao, wasn’t that the “Small” Heavenly Dao?
Why didn’t the Heavenly Dao send me a dream this time?
It was probably afraid that I would deliberately ignore it.
Li Changshou pondered in his heart. On the surface, he remained calm. Without any warning, he gently handed the sword in his hand forward and naturally poked it a second time.

Ss—
The second pillar of blood spewed out and matched the first.
Du Shuren widened his eyes and turned to look at Li Changshou. “Fellow Daoist, what’s wrong?”
Indeed, he would not shout angrily and fight to the death with him, who clearly had ill intentions. Instead, he chose to follow the Great Heart Technique.
The otherworldly demon was a coward.
“My hand trembled.” Li Changshou maintained a faint smile. “Fellow Daoist, don’t be anxious. As long as you cooperate, I might be kind and spare your life. Ah, I’ve been in seclusion recently. I haven’t eaten humans for hundreds of years. My taste is indeed faint.”
As he spoke, Li Changshou simulated some demonic aura and melted some of the demonic blood that the paper effigy carried with him.
Du Shuren’s expression changed.
He had been targeted as a prey!
Isn’t this the five continents? The core of the Primordial World! Didn’t the demons suffer great losses? Why am I so unlucky to meet such an expert of the demon race!?!
Du Shuren hurriedly looked for a solution and quickly calmed down.
Why don’t I… wait for him to devour me?
That way, he could unknowingly attack his Dao heart and turn it into his own. Then, he could go to the East Continent to do what his “mother” had instructed him to do.
Although it would be inconvenient to use the demons to travel in the Primordial World, it was better than being killed. That was not good…
Sizzle!
“Fellow Daoist, how could you!?!”
“This blood arrow is quite beautiful.” Li Changshou chuckled and said, “Fellow Daoist, where are you from?”
The otherworldly demon said, “Fellow Daoist, why are you asking about this?”
“I’m also particular about food production,” Li Changshou said seriously. “Those living beings near the edge of the world have little spiritual energy and bad taste. I have to avoid that.”
“I came from the border world.” Du Shuren hurriedly said, “I lost my parents when I was young and followed Master to cultivate. I survived countless difficulties and finally obtained my current cultivation level. Fellow Daoist, please show mercy. I’m willing to give you all my treasures.”
“Sure, sure.”
As he spoke, Li Changshou had already brought the otherworldly demon to a deserted island. He slowly walked up the edge of the island with the Heavenly Demon. From time to time, he would poke the Heavenly Demon and test the bottom line of his tolerance.
At the same time, he could think of a way to trick him before he forced out the otherworldly demon’s main body.
“Fellow Daoist, how’s your Dao name?”
“My Dao name is Du Shuren.”
“Oh?” Li Changshou said casually, “There are not many humans in the world with the last name Du.”
“My last name is indeed a little strange. After all, I came from the edge of the world. It’s normal for me to be a little strange.” The corners of Du Shuren’s mouth twitched wildly. “My Dao Body is filled with impurities and not pure at all…”
“It’s fine.” Li Changshou smiled and said, “My Dao name is not particular.”
Du Shuren’s legs trembled. He turned to look at the person behind him and saw that the other party was calm and composed. He stabbed his back again and immortal blood spurted out.
What kind of ferocious person is this?
Why did he, a Skyfiend, feel a little helpless?
“Fellow Daoist, why have you come to the five continents of the Primordial World this time?”

“I went to the East Continent to look for an old friend. Actually, I went there to seek refuge…”
“Oh?”
Li Changshou raised his eyebrows and continued to chat with Du Shuren.
This fellow was quite vigilant. At that moment, he was just a little cowardly. However, he kept insisting that it was the same “story script”. He did not have many flaws.
Li Changshou decided to play a small trick.
As the two of them were chatting happily, Li Changshou suddenly turned around and stood at the hillside of the desolate mountain. He looked at the vast East Ocean and smiled.
“Fellow Daoist, look at how magnificent this world is.”
Du Shuren trembled and immediately nodded. “It’s indeed magnificent.”
“Fellow Daoist, why don’t you compose a poem? If you can make me happy, then today…”
Essay and poem?
Du Shuren pondered for a while and his eyes lit up. He opened his mouth and was about to recite a poem.
Li Changshou said, “Fellow Daoist, you seem to be different from ordinary otherworldly demons.”
“Of course. I was directly split from my mother. Ordinary Skyfiends are split by themselves. Their relationship with my mother is already slightly different…”
Du Shuren paused. He, who was originally boasting, suddenly turned around and glared at Li Changshou.
Li Changshou smiled and his eyes lit up.
Du Shuren suddenly felt that his Dao Body and essence soul were not under his control. He seemed to have lost all his Dharma powers and strength.
Just as he was about to react, his vision suddenly blurred. He had already fallen into a dark corner. Cold thoughts were like blades, pressing against his “main body”.
“You!”
Du Shuren’s eyes widened, and his Dao Body suddenly collapsed.
A wisp of black aura emerged from the hole in his face. Just as he was about to pounce on Li Changshou, he was instantly surrounded by blue lightning.
The lightning surrounded him but did not kill him. The black aura immediately trembled and condensed into a two-feet-tall human-shaped black shadow that roared at Li Changshou.
Li Changshou pretended to be happy and praised, “It’s indeed a high-grade Skyfiend.”
Several streams of light emerged from the ground and turned into tables, chairs, chopping boards, kitchen knives, and various seasonings.
Li Changshou grabbed with his hand. His palm contained the divine power of the Heavenly Dao. He reached into the lightning and grabbed the ball of black aura. He helped it stabilize its body and sealed it on the chopping board.
The Heavenly Demon cursed, “You, what are you doing!?!”
“High-grade ingredients usually only require simple cooking.” Li Changshou closed his eyes and sighed. “Such pure otherworldly demons are really rare. They can be considered peerless dishes.”
Du Shuren trembled and almost cried. He curled up on the chopping board.
Soon, Li Changshou wrapped the kitchen knife with the power of the Heavenly Dao. Without saying anything, he cut a small piece of the Heavenly Demon Black Qi and placed it on the plate. He scattered some roasted meat powder and began to stir it elegantly.
“Do you want to talk to me about your mother? That way, I might be able to cut you off a few times. I might even consider keeping you.”
“Don’t even think about it!”
Li Changshou smiled and squinted. He did not touch the Heaven Demon Black Qi on the plate and continued to grab the kitchen knife.
On that day, the screams of the Heavenly Demons echoed in the Dao hearts of the living beings in a radius of 5,000 kilometers. Many living beings thought that they were hearing things.
Hence, half a day later.
…
Mental demons, simulations, and spiritual bodies…
The Heavenly Demons that were specially nurtured to imitate the Qi Refinement cultivators of the Primordial World, the “mother” of the Heavenly Demons that could reproduce without a gender, the mysterious Heavenly Demon Saint Land, the huge black shadow that was worshiped by the Heavenly Demons…
The strict mission arrangements separated the information of the entire mission according to stage. Every once in a while, or when a certain condition was reached, the information of the next mission would be “triggered”…
What?
Li Changshou frowned and stood on the cloud with his hands behind his back. He was confused.
Could the words I said to scare Mr. Bai the last time I returned from the Chaos Sea be true?
Did I really run into the full scheme of the Demon Master Kun Peng?!
He looked at the middle-aged Daoist who was trapped by the long rope formed by lightning.
As if sensing Li Changshou’s gaze, the unconscious middle-aged Daoist trembled a few times and shouted in a daze, “I, Du Shuren, would rather die than submit. I will not say anything to you…”
It was not easy to encounter such a cowardly otherworldly demon.
Li Changshou kept thinking in his heart. The cloud had also reached the range of the East Continent. At that moment, he was still hesitating about whether he should obtain the subsequent plans of the Heavenly Demons.
That might be a huge matter.
The Heavenly Dao had guided him to catch this mental demon. It must be to obtain some useful information from this mental demon.
“Find an evil cultivator with many negative karma and try your best.”
Li Changshou set up a plan and spread his immortal senses. He searched the southeast of the East Continent for a while and quickly found an old Daoist priest who was surrounded by negative karma and was cultivating in seclusion in the mountain.
According to the ‘details’ that Du Shuren had told him, they seemed to be about to invade the Dao heart of an expert from the immortal sect.
With the power of the Taiji Painting and the power of his escape technique, Li Changshou quietly approached the old Daoist priest who was in the Heaven Immortal realm. He scattered a handful of incapacitating agents. As the old Daoist priest meditated and cultivated, he slowly lowered his head and snored.
Li Changshou threw Du Shuren to the ground and tapped his glabella with his finger. He pulled out the Heavenly Demon, which was surrounded by lightning bolts, and threw it beside the old Daoist priest.
Lightning flashed, and the Skyfiend trembled.
“Go in. Don’t hurt anyone.”
Li Changshou said coldly. The Heavenly Demon’s faint face appeared on the black aura and glared at Li Changshou.
Humiliation!
Humiliation!
That was the greatest insult to the Skyfiend!
Li Changshou frowned. Electric arcs flashed on his fingertips, illuminating the old Daoist priest’s Cave Abode!
Hmph! A Essence Soul sent to my door. It’s not worth it!
The Heavenly Demon snorted coldly and entered the old Daoist priest’s glabella. However, Li Changshou grabbed it a moment later. The old Daoist priest’s essence soul… was unharmed.
“Have you gotten the next step of the plan?”
The Heavenly Demon was speechless.
“Hmph!”
Li Changshou nodded in understanding and stuffed the Heavenly Demon back into the middle-aged Daoist’s body. He left quietly, as if he had never appeared there.
When Li Changshou asked about the next steps of the Heavenly Demon’s mission, he felt a little uncomfortable.
“Befriend the disciples of the Immortal Du Sect and secretly control this person.”
Li Changshou was rendered speechless.
What is he doing?
The otherworldly demons planted their backgrounds around him step by step? They treated the Qi Refinement cultivators as stepping stones?
If that was the case, Li Changshou might really be unable to guard against it, especially since he had already moved to the Great White Palace. It was impossible for him to monitor every Immortal of the Immortal Du Sect.
What is this otherworldly demon’s goal?
It is obvious that there is… something behind this!
He knew that the Primordial Heavenly Dao Barrier isolated the Chaos Sea. The experiments on the old Daoist priest had already proved that the otherworldly demon was not remotely controlled by his “mother”.
The other party should not be able to do that.
The following mission information that the Heavenly Demon received would not be as complicated as the Heavenly Demon said.
Indeed, Li Changshou found a few more negative karma demons and allowed the Heavenly Demon to continuously invade them. Two follow-up missions appeared one after another. Moreover, he confirmed that there were only two steps to the Heavenly Demon’s plan.
Those negative karma demons were naturally burned to ashes by Li Changshou.
However, Li Changshou never expected that he would obtain two pieces of information…
The second last step of the Heavenly Demon Plan:
“After I enter the Immortal Du Sect, I’ll wait for an opportunity to invade any elder’s essence soul.”
At that moment, Li Changshou could confirm that the other party was targeting him!
Could it be that the Heavenly Dao had helped him by accident this time?
The Heavenly Fiend snorted and said the last “mission information”. Li Changshou’s body turned cold. His Dao heart trembled slightly, and a sharp light flashed in his eyes.
Kun Peng?!
Could it be that the one being worshiped by the Heavenly Demon was really the Kun Peng?
Since the other party had already left the Primordial World and paid such a huge price to escape by faking his death, why did he take the initiative to return and self-destruct in front of him?
Li Changshou frowned and looked at Du Shuren who was in front of him. A bolt of lightning flashed in his palm. The Heavenly Demon and the Dao Body were destroyed at the same time. The True Samadhi Flames spread out and everything returned to dust.
This matter could not be hidden from the Heavenly Dao.
Could it be that the Kun Peng was taking revenge on purpose and deliberately slandering him?
Standing on a desolate mountain by the sea, Li Changshou stood with his hands behind his back. The paper effigy ignited with wisps of flames and instantly turned into ashes.
That was not all. The two paper effigies that were cooperating underground had been monitoring the paper effigy that was following the black leopard. At the same time, they turned into ashes and were burned by Li Changshou.
Why was that so?
It was because the last mission of the Heavenly Demon Du Shuren was to find a way to meet Tai Jinxing, who was from the Immortal Du Sect, and ask him…

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.

Patchwork System
Notification (cannot be ignored): For being the first being to kill another of its own species after Sublimation, Lyam Aldren is awarded the Title of Cain’s Successor. Let all fear the Kinslayer!!! Lyam Aldren, killer for hire, was just going about his business when he suddenly received a notification from something called the System. Apparently, the entirety of Earth, its denizens and its matter were transported into the world of the System, planted in 'patches' all throughout the infinite world. The world of the Patchwork System is one of challenges, where life is cheap, power is king, and Classes and levels are a thing. In a brutal world, there is perhaps room for a killer with bloodstained hands to find his own way, free of his past. However, his Title and his inherent nature plague him, his fragmented personality laid bare to those with the eyes to see, and if he doesn't become powerful enough to defeat or escape those who would use or destroy him, he will quickly be devoured by the merciless world created by the System. Compared to my previous work, this is a more 'classic' litrpg setup, with clear (if somewhat complex) progression through levels and skill gains, with a 'system apocalypse' setup. Unlike most system apocalypse story protagonists, Lyam is neither a leader nor is he particularly interested in saving his fellow Earthlings. This is a story of a man who is both endangered and set free by the destruction of his old world, as he finds both power, new discoveries, and adventure in a place where his past matters not at all and power is the only language most speak. Later in the story, there will be harem elements, but the first volume is dedicated to Lyam's first months in the System. For those who are more interested in the Heirs of the Hooded King, I am putting it on hiatus as I rework the setting and future story developments a bit.
