The Numbers That Brought Our Fates Together Chapter 276: A Risky Idea.
Corey was walking around the hotel room from corner to corner, waiting for news from the hotel manager. Knowing her daughter well, the woman was sure that this sweet couple was unlikely to have escaped in the usual way. But despite their young age, the children were always careful and knew that with outsiders it was forbidden to use their powers.
Be that as it may, in the first place it was necessary to check the recordings from surveillance cameras and confirm or deny the presence of children in the hotel.
The long-awaited knock on the door switched Corey's attention from her thoughts, the woman actually ran to the door and opened it, "Sir, is there any news?"
"Sorry, ma'am, we checked the surveillance cameras, but your children were not seen on them," the hotel manager replied with a pity, "If you agree, we can call the police to join the search."
When she heard the word "police", Corey's smiled kindly, "No, no need to call the police. These children like to play that way, and most likely slipped away with their father, without warning me. I asked you to check the cameras just in case," the woman came a step closer to the man, a hot Mexican got used to various visitors, but such charming ladies like Corey were quite rare.
She raised her hand and carefully as if in-between times, put several folded hundred-dollar bills in the pocket of his vest, "This is in gratitude to you for your responsible attitude, I hope you will forgive me for bothering you," the woman blinked her eyelashes and the man's breathing sharply increased.
He swallowed a lump that stepped up his throat and answered in a slightly hoarse voice, "Well, miss, it's always a pleasure," the manager leaned forward and added a half tone quieter, "If you still need anything, anything at all, you can safely contact me."

"Thank you, I will keep that in mind," Corey nodded in response and closed the room door.
"Wow, that was… khem, hot," Nick whistled and poked Lina in the side with his elbow, "Did you see that? Now I understand who Ashley is such a temptress, despite her young age."
"Tsk, not funny," Corey rolled her eyes and plopped down onto the sofa doomed. Fortunately, Lina helped calm her inflated nerves, and now the woman was sure that the children had run away with Elena, "Well, miss Ashley Williams when you get into my hands, oh, I promise some good thrashing for you."
"Could you find out anything?" Lina turned to Nick, watching the young man picking his phone.
"No, Alice was able to track their path to a certain point, and then the signal was blocked. There is some kind of protection and along the way, of a high level. If she starts to crack it, then they will be able to detect me at their end," Nick ran a hand through his hair, after his last hacking of military satellites, Marcus strengthened his defense program and put a bug to search for a pest. And when did he just do it? After all, no more than a day has passed. Damn, it looks like in his team there were some cool hackers.
Corey turned to the young man and imploringly asked, "Nick, I don't know what you did on your phone there, but if there is at least some way to make sure the children's safety, if I can help with anything, I'll do everything."
The young man thought for a moment and scratched his head, one thought occurred to him, but in his position, it was very risky, "To be honest, there is one option, but for this I need two balls of chocolate ice cream."

"Um, what? Ice cream?" Corey looked at the guy in surprise. How was ice cream related to finding the children?
"Don't look at me like that, I'm serious. During stress, my brain works poorly."
"Hmm, okay. But if it's some kind of joke, don't be offended if I give you a head slap later. I'm not in the mood for jokes right now, Nick Anderson," Corey got off the couch and went downstairs to get some ice cream.
Lina looked at the slammed door, and then at Nick, "And what a brilliant idea came to your stupid head that you got Corey out of here on such an absurd pretext?"
Nick took a deep breath and mentally prepared to listen to the tons of indignation from Lina, "I can try to connect to Sean's consciousness and see where they are."
"You can what?" Lina did not immediately understand the meaning of these words, but a second later it dawned on her what it meant, "Are you crazy? Can you even imagine how much energy it will take?! Want to die right on this couch?! How will I look Elena in the eye later if something happens to you?!"
See? It was this reaction that he expected.
"Polina, calm down. I know this is risky, but do not exaggerate, ok? I still have enough energy to hold on for two weeks," the girl's angry look made the young man cower in fear, " well… or three?"
"Are you asking me now or affirming me? Well, show me here the latest research of your super-mind," the girl took the phone and began to poke into the display, "You go ahead and type in the password now if you do not want to die from my hand ahead of time!"
Nick dutifully authenticated, as arguing with this fire-breathing dragon in the guise of an angel was more expensive for himself.
"What the hell?! Why did you hide such important information from me?!" The phone's display showed the patient's last scan and the final result that there were no more than three weeks of life remaining.
"Take it easy, relax, don't be so nervous, okay?" Nick patted Lina on the back, reassuring the girl after receiving shocking information, "It's not that you did not know about my condition, right? Well, think a month earlier – a month later. Now there are much more important things than to worry about my imminent demise."
"Idiot, that's who you are. Today I'll tell Elena everything, and I don't care what you think about this. In general, I had to tell her everything at once, and not listen to you."
"LinLin, it's enough, don't be stiff," Nick gently pushed the girl and looked into her eyes with his special charming look, "Better help me now before Corey returns, m?"
The girl exhaled slowly and threw the telephone aside, "Lord, you, just like Amelia, are as stubborn as a mule. You can immediately see that you two are related," Lina placed her hands over the young man's chest and concentrated, the warm green energy began to flow from her palms into Nick's body. "I cannot give you much, your body rejects most."
"It doesn't matter, even a grain will be enough," Nick closed his eyes and exhaled, "If I black out for more than ten minutes, do everything possible to wake me up."
"I understand, do not merge with his mind."
"Heh, I'll try, otherwise the problems will be more serious," Nick grinned and all his senses became switched off.

Disclaimer: This is not an instruction manual. If you want to be a horrible human being, go figure it out yourself. Autopsy: Writing this story gave me some degree of insight into how much I've managed to fuck up my own personality by suppressing basic needs. Now I hate myself even more. It started as a story where the MC was supposed to be a blend of the NZ-land shooter and other cancerous personalities. That way I wouldn't feel bad about torturing him. Instead I ended up witnessing all the worst aspects of my own personality, or lack thereof. I'm a horrid person, I can't even bring myself to do what's the only right thing at this point.
