The Numbers That Brought Our Fates Together Chapter 86: [Master.]
The man rolled over and got up from the couch slowly. Mr. Matthews always had a strong physique and kept himself in good shape, which attracted the attention of countless women who he made out with.
He glared at his daughter and hissed in a hoarse voice,
"Oh, you little maggot… You dare to oppose your father? Apparently, I haven't taught you the right manners for a long time!"
The man swung and hit the girl in her face with all his strength.
Melinda lost her balance and fell to the floor with a crash. Everything darkened in her eyes.
The girl reflexively grabbed her cheek, which was burning as if from the fire. She was ready to burst into tears of pain, but she knew that tears would only provoke this beast, who was standing in front of her and looking at the girl as if she were a guilty slave.
The man threw a disgusting look at his daughter and went to the kitchen for another batch of whiskey.
Melinda slowly got up and went to her room. Her bag was ready for the trip. Even though she had no place to go and no place to live, the girl realized that she couldn't be left alone with this man anymore.
Having packed the last necessary things and documents, she silently left the apartment and slammed the door behind her.
The sun began to descend slowly to the horizon when the girl stopped her car opposite the gates of the city cemetery.
Walking along the long line of the graves, Melinda stopped at one of them. Having sat down on her knees, the girl laid a bouquet of white lilies on the tombstone.
"Hello, mom. Forgive me for not having come for such a long time. And forgive me for coming here for the last time. At least until I know when I can visit you again. I'm fine, so don't worry about me, okay?"
The girl smiled at the portrait of a beautiful woman who looked at her from the photo, smiling back. Melinda could not hold it anymore and burst into tears loudly, "I miss you so much, mommy!!! Your daughter is so stupid! I wanted it so much that at least someone would love me! Even my own father doesn't need me. But even that person rejected me, and I tried so hard to do everything as he asked …"

Tears rolled down her cheeks, and she cried for a long time until finally she was able to calm down. Wiping her face wet from tears, she kissed her mother's portrait and walked away.
The highway was free, and Melinda was driving her car calmly. In the rearview mirror, she noticed that some kind of black car was approaching her at high speed. The girl moved to the next line to let that car go forward. Suddenly…
Bam!
The black car crashed into her side with all its strength.
"Idiot, what are you doing!" Melinda cried out in fear and surprise.
She immediately turned the steering wheel to somehow stabilize her car. At this point, a new and more powerful hit followed.
Bam!
. . .
Elena looked at her watch. There were no more than two hours before her meeting with David. The girl began to twirl in front of the mirror, pondering what is best to wear.
Then she dropped a glance on a small piece of paper lying on a desk. She sighed and scratched her head thoughtfully,
'All right, I think it's better to discuss it with David first. I'm not sure it would be wise to go to a meeting with Melinda alone.'
She took the phone and sent a message to the girl. [I am ready to meet. Is 10 o'clock good for you?]
As soon as she put the phone back on the table, an incoming call immediately followed.
"Hello, Melinda? Are you all right with ten?"
"Hello! I am calling you from the Central Hospital. The girl, who owns this phone, got into a serious car accident. We completed the operation recently, but we are unable to contact her relatives. Could you drive up and confirm her identity so that we can fill in the necessary documents?"
"Y-yes, I'll be there soon," Elena replied bewilderedly and hung up.
. . .
Melinda opened her eyes slowly and saw the white ceiling. The girl tried to move, but wild pain pierced her whole body.
"To move now is not the wisest decision in your situation," a cold male voice said.
She looked away, and her heart froze, full of horror. The man got up from the chair and approached her. His beautiful face showed no emotion, and only devilish lights in his eyes betrayed his true nature.

"Miss Matthews, I seem to have warned you that my Master does not like annoying people," Alan leaned toward the girl and ran his hand through her hair, face, and stopped at the level of her neck.
"Didn't you understand it enough when your father's company went bankrupt, and he sold all your property? Do such lessons teach you anything?"
The girl's body was pierced with a cold shiver, she tried to scream, but the medical pipe in her throat did not allow her to utter a sound.
The man grinned, "And what is the secret you wanted to tell Miss Lee? Fill me in, what was it?"
Alan looked around and picked up the girl's phone from the table standing next to her. Scrolling through the media files quickly, the man stopped at one of them and turned on the play button.
"Hmmm, that's interesting, indeed!"
He put the phone back on the table. Then he grabbed the girl by her neck and squeezed his hand tightly.
Melinda felt the air slowly ending in her lungs. Tears from fear ran from the girl's eyes.
Alan grinned and removed his hand. "Well, was it scary? Remember this feeling well. Thank Master that he asked me to be more gentle with you. Otherwise, this minute would be your last one. If you once again stand in our way, you will not end up just with broken legs."
The man pulled a syringe from his pocket and droplets of a colorless liquid appeared at the tip of the needle.
"And now I need you to get some sleep."
It was the last thing Melinda heard before her mind fell into a deep sleep.
. . .
"Hello, I recently received a call from your hospital about a girl who had a car accident," Elena walked over to the reception desk of the Central Hospital.
"Oh, yes, hello. That's right. Please fill out these documents here. At least the information that you know," the nurse replied and handed the paper to Elena.
The girl took the pen and began to fill out the form. She was the monitor of the group when studying at the Academy. She was dealing with the personal information of the students quite often. Plus, due to her phenomenal memory, she had no problems remembering all personal information from the first time.
Elena confidently filled out all the sections of the medical documents, while the nurse looked at the girl in amazement. For the first time in her long practice, she met a person who knew by heart all the data regarding insurance and other facts about the patient.
Elena put the pen down and handed the papers to the nurse.
"Tell me, can I see the girl?"
"Yes, of course, go to room 505. She should be in her consciousness after the operation."
Elena went to the indicated room and opened the door. The room was quiet and cool. She went inside and looked around.
Melinda seemed to be asleep and did not notice how Elena entered the room.
Elena walked over and sat down on the armchair, next to the girl's bed. She had a little more time before her meeting with David.
The girl sat for about ten minutes and was about to leave when she noticed a mobile phone lying on a bedside table.
For some unknown reason, Elena extended her hand and took it. She began flipping photos. Many of them were done on television during the filming of a dance tournament. Also, there were many videos of master-classes of famous dancers, whose names even she knew.
Elena smiled. Obviously, Melinda took this matter seriously. And this thought made her very sad, because, considering the condition of the girl after the accident, it was unknown if she could dance like she did before, in the future.
Scrolling through several files, Elena froze. On the phone display, she saw the audio file. [Master.]
The girl swallowed the lump that came to her throat.
She closed her eyes and pressed the play button.
At that moment, she felt the sky collapse on her. As if the earth opened up under her feet, and she fell into the bottomless and black mist rapidly.
She understood that she was about to faint from the shock and pain that had bound her whole body.
She was pressing the auto-repeat button all over again in the hope that her hearing had deceived her. But all was in vain.
The voice she heard on the tape was the voice of David.

The Calculator - Supervillainess Time Loop
What makes a terrifying villain? Is it ruthlessness? Is it how powerful they are and how many buildings they can down in one blow? Is it how hard they are to kill, contain, or get rid of in any manner? Is it their knowledge of a hero’s true identity in a world where secrets must be kept? Or is it perhaps how they seem to be perfect in all their actions, defeating the hero at every step of the way throughout to the last one, only to humiliate them one last time before declaring themselves the winner in the grand scheme of things?
