First and foremost, I would like to thank all of you guys for reading my translation on Mitsuha and stay with my shitty translations (no, seriously, it’s shitty). It was a nice journey as Mitsuha was my first translation and she introduced me into the translator world. Unfortunately, as you may already know, my translation pace is now decreasing gradually. The reason being is that, I’m currently struggling to find motivation for translating novels. Yes, I do have some stuff in RL as well, but I won’t sugarcoated it with this reasoning. Some of you might felt betrayed by this and thus, I would like to apologize to you guys for not meeting your expectations and also for taking a lot of time on translating novels.

I have no thoughts on dropping Mitsuha at first but sadly, Mitsuha is now being translated by another translator that seems to have more passion for this novel. Though, I know that Mitsuha would get sniped eventually but it was still shocking for me as there hasn’t been any contact from someone that they want to take over the series and suddenly, there’s someone taking over your translation without any notice.

It kinda left me a bit of a sad feeling about this (well, a big part of it was anger though). However, I won’t judge about this as the rules in NU is that you can take over a series if a month has passed without new chapter, but let this be a lesson to you guys who are aspiring to be a translator:

PLEASE TRY TO CONTACT THE PREVIOUS TRANSLATOR IF YOU CAN TAKE OVER THE SERIES OR NOT BEFOREHAND.

Though, you can just toss away my advice as you like. But please look at the previous translator’s perspective about it as they may/may not feel sad about it.

Last but not least, please support the next translator on their journey. I hope that they will do a wonderful job on translating Mitsuha. Of course, I won’t mind to take back Mitsuha if they stopped translating it. Just contact me on my Discord~

I became a sole proprietor and immediately visited the tax office. Of course, appointment for that had been made in advance. I looked up in the internet, carefully compare to what’s in the homepage, and chose a place that seems right. If I don’t do this well enough, I will reap what I sow for the ones that I missed.

I listened to various explanations and signed the contract safely. With this, my tax returns are now safe.

Next is to go back home and launch a new website. Yes, a sculpture selling site, 『Colette』.

All texts are in English. I tried to make the site to be difficult to find, hard to understand, and difficult to use. Well, I will be troubled if I really got an order from someone, you see. Especially, if the orders came from within Japan. Hence, I didn’t put any explanation in Japanese.

This site is more or less to create an alibi for doing the sale activities. Otherwise, I won’t be able to explain an 18-year-old girl sells art works overseas without any intermediaries nor advertisements. If I use an online advertisement, then I can explain that foreigners with fantastic taste happened to see it.

Yup, it’s perfect!

And it’s finally time for the work production. As one would expect, it’s impossible to not put sample photos of the works on the website. It would be too strange that a site selling art works with a focus on sculpture doesn’t have a single photo of its works.

With that being said, we moved to the quarry in the other world with transfer.

It’s a rocky mountain that does not have an owner and can be quarried without permission. After that, I transferred some of the stones to my home in Japan and returned back immediately. I took the 『cut』 part of the stones, did continuous transfers and dropped it from the skies which destroyed it to pieces.

It will be a problem if I make lots of noise, leaving the cut portions and let the hollowed portions be used by someone. Therefore, I won’t forget to clean it up even if it’s a hassle.

After that, I went back home and inspected the 『cut』 parts.

Yup yup, it’s a decent result.

I haven’t forgotten that I got a terrible result for trying to cut out a model that imitates a famous sculpture before as my artistic talent is nonexistent. Therefore, I stocked some ordinary sculptures that I bought and this 『wonderpiece』 that I made.

A seamless stone ring connected like a chain with a slightly elliptical stone in a reticulated stone sphere that looks 『similar to an animal』.

Furthermore, I transferred a little expensive crystal glass that I bought at a store inside the reticulated stone sphere and continue creating other things to the point of making people think “I don’t know how to make this” or “this seems to take a lot of time and effort”.

After a while, lots of products are now ready.

……It should be alright with this.

The next day, I visited some shops in the royal capital where I asked the store clerks while looking around.

“Is there a rookie’s sculpture that seems to have a promising future? The size and weight that I can easily take home…” (Mitsuha)

Yes, it’s the purchasing of products to be sold at 『Colette』. I have no talent to make ordinary sculptures. And, of course, there was a reason why I bothered to add 『Rookie’s』.

I mean, a viscount is trying to buy something here. It would be a problem if he recommends a ridiculously expensive things made by a famous person.

All I want is “a product that seems to be made by a rookie and have a good prospect”. And a cheap one too. Well, it can also be interpreted as cooperating with novice artists who can’t sell anything.

Buying cheaply the ones that were made by a person before their success, omstead of the ones who can already earn some income. Yes, it’s something like 『Let’s be happy together』.

And what was recommended by the shop assistants and clerks were…

“Absolutely! This is the sculpture of a nude woman made by Aeris!”

“A certain viscount household’s heirloom is on sale …”

“No, didn’t I said a rookie? Like I said, I won’t buy a famous sculptor’s work or a noble family’s heirloom. I want something that looks decent even if the creator is unknown.” (Mitsuha)

No matter how much I say it, well, even when I said it’s a must for furnishing a viscount household, it’s still not enough and was left dumbfounded as many shops still tried to sell expensive items.

It’s a bit of a problem if the status of the customer, or the noble ranking, or even my face is affecting this…

After running away from the main street stores which were trying to keep me from leaving and walked down the back street to get some break, I saw a small art store in front of me. It’s a small-sized store where the owner attends the store himself.

This kind of store perhaps won’t be very greedy. Thinking so, I went inside the store and looked at the display shelves. However, the one who looks like the owner didn’t charge instantly towards me and looking at me quietly.

Oh? Isn’t this nice!?

A wood sculpture that is a little unrefined, but gives a nice taste. There are several delicate and smooth stone sculptures as well. Not only the material, but the touch is clearly different with each other, so it might be various artists’ works. The price is also cheap and it’s obviously made by unnamed rookie artists. It feels like they probably consumed lots of time and resources for the production and price.

The store clerk uncle was quite surprised but seemed happy. It doesn’t seem like it’s because of his store’s products were sold, but perhaps he was glad that the rookie’s products was sold.

All the sculptures that I bought were a little too heavy, so I asked for a delivery. Well, even if I can transfer it from a place where there are no people, I still can’t bring it to that “place” to begin with and if I try to forcefully carry it back home by myself, it will obviously be weird.

While you call yourself a sculptor, it can’t be helped that you will still be reselling art works made by someone else. When it comes to art dealers, the matter of from where and how much you can get from your stock is a problem. I can’t import goods from abroad, and if I buy it from someone else in the kingdom, there will be lots of risky discussions, such as the tax of the seller. Hence, I can only be a 『source of products』 as a sculptor of a sole proprietor.

Well, that’s why I sell it under the name of 『Colette』 instead of the personal name, “Yamano Mitsuha” so that there won’t be anyone who will say they are the ones who made it!

And if we’re talking about works of art, the price is random. You can decide how much you value it and no one will complain about it.

Well, the one who’s buying it is only me, so I might not be able to get the merit of a producer.

And after buying them at a high price with the nationality and name that I got from a certain kingdom, the name of the real artist will be specified this time and sold at a reasonable price. At least as a courtesy to the artist himself.

Of course, the reselling price is absurdly cheaper than the selling price from 『Colette』. Considering the exchange rate of money, the price will perhaps be far from the original purchase price, but the artist will be more happy to sell it at a lower price than having to no sale at all. It’s a reasonable price instead of a bargaining sale if it’s on earth.

And after the cargo arrives at 『General Store Mitsuha』, I transferred them immediately to Japan.

I took a picture of the items for sale with a digital camera, and the website is now ready.

The next day, 『General Store Mitsuha』 is in operation for the first time in a long time.

Before opening the store, I greeted the neighbours and went to the orphanage saying that I have returned from a long-term business trip.

And after finally settling down from a group of woman’s raid whose shampoos and body soaps ran out of stock,

“Excuse me, is this the manor of Her Excellency Viscount Mitsuha von Yamano?” (???)

Though, perhaps he couldn’t say “Is this Viscount Yamano’s house?” as he might have a business with me as a viscount instead of the general store owner. Can’t be helped, huh?

However, he’s a tall man in the middle of his twenties that doesn’t look like an aristocrat nor merchant at all. What in the world might it be, having to ask for the viscount me instead of the general store owner?

Oh my, is he the sculptor!? I didn’t expect he would come to give his gratitude to the person who bought it. Was it such a thing or was it because of how happy he is…?

It might not be the first time that his works were sold, but has he been going around and thanking everyone every time?

“You don’t have to. Those were good piece of works, so I was happy to buy them. Umm…” (Mitsuha)

“Ah, my name is Rolthor.” (Rolthor)

Yeah, that’s the name if I recalled.

I had written the name of the artist in order to sell his name and to acquire repeating customers in a paper, but I still forgot about it.

After that, we chatted a little, but Rolthor-san was restlessly looking at me as if he’s examining my complexion and seemed to not want to go home. After talking lots about similar things and things that don’t matter at all to the point of it’s getting a little boring,

“Is this, the manor of Her Excellency Viscount Yamano?” (???)

A timid woman around the age of 20, who came to the store saying the same thing as Rolthor-san.

She asked but didn’t hear a reply. However, she probably knew that I’m Viscount Yamano. The following words were continued as they were.

“Thank you for purchasing my work! By all means, I would like you to support me as a patron…” (???)

Aaah, many of these world’s artists rely on patrons, if I’m correct?

If a noble likes one’s work, then it’s obvious that he/she will cling to them as it’s one in a million chance for him/her.
