Black Tech Internet Cafe System Chapter 624 – The Assassination at Castel Sant’Angelo
Translator: Noodletown Translations Editor: Noodletown Translations
It must be noted that the Eagle Vision re-created by the System was a combination of intuitive senses and eyes. On the screen, the players could see that important objects were highlighted while the background turned gray.
The players could use this skill to do many other things besides finding certain objects, including seeing through things, sharing visions, marking targets, and tracking, etc.
Eagle Vision could also locate targets, which had helped Altair in his final battle with his mentor Al Mualim, who created many illusions of himself with a Piece of Eden. With Eagle Vision, Altair had detected Al Mualim’s true self hidden in the crowd.
It was why his mentor Al Mualim lost to him even though the former had the powerful godly artifact.
When Eagle Vison evolved to Eagle Sense, it could heighten all the user’s senses, allowing them to foresee danger and see certain scenes in the past or in the future.
For example, when Shay was ambushed by assassins, he would hear heavy panting and whispers if he didn’t activate Eagle Vison. If he did, he could detect the exact spot of the danger.
The plot of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood consisted of several sequences.
After training in the real world, the main character would enter the first sequence. It was when Ezio first came to Rome; it was the desolate Rome under the ruling of Borgia.
In the second sequence, he began to form an alliance with the thieves and mercenaries in Rome. After Ezio had gained his foothold, the game entered the next memory sequence in which Ezio began to reassemble the Brotherhood, recruiting novices, and acquiring weapons of war.
The ancient world in Assassin’s Creed wasn’t like the traditional renaissance era of Earth. Due to the existence of the Pieces of Eden, there were some… black technologies.
The weapons used in this era were ancient versions of machine guns, gliders, tanks, and marine cannons created by Da Vinci with the knowledge derived from the Pieces of Eden.
Of course, they were all in the ancient style.

Obviously, Ezio had a different personality from that of Altair. The latter was a clear-headed and wise master who was a pioneer in setting the new code of conduct for assassins. His grand life was mainly spent in the battle for the freedom and cause of assassins. However, Ezio was more multi-faceted. In Florence, he was sentimental and romantic, looking more human compared to his ancestor Altair, who was a saint in the series of Assassin Creed.
In this sequence, when Ezio saw that Caterina was captured by the Borgia Family at the bridge outside Castel Sant’Angelo, the first thing he did was entering the castle alone to rescue her.
Across the sparkling wide river sat a wide arched bridge paved with white rocks and lined with twelve statues of angels. Beyond the bridge were a grand high tower and dense buildings protected by the high castle walls.
“Can anyone break into this castle alone with only techniques and no strength…?” Elina was excited. “It’s awesome!”
After all, when they tried to assassinate Luther, that godly palace wasn’t as big as this castle.
Breaking into a castle was obviously a huge challenge for one person.
In the original game, the players could choose to sneak in or break in from the main gate with force, A.K.A musou. Of course, in the system version, breaking in with force would be extremely difficult. After all, there were firearms in this era instead of only arrows, as it was in Altair’s time.
At this moment, the other assassins were doing this mission too.
“What do you think?” Harrison asked in excitement.
“The design is awesome!” another assassin said, “Sneaking into such a huge and heavily-guarded castle without the aid of any stealth spiritual spells is thrilling.”
“Let’s begin! If we can make it a success, I think the anti-stealth spiritual spells and anti-air spiritual spells in the godly palace will be useless against us because we won’t need any stealth spiritual spells at all!” Elina chose the safest way and sneaked to the bottom of the castle from below the bridge outside Castel Sant’Angelo.

As a qualified assassin, one must sneak up to the target! she thought.
Ezio moved swiftly like a swallow flying low under the bridge close to the water. While dodging the guards on the watchtowers, he soon came to the outside of the castle wall.
After climbing up the wall, he found two soldiers patrolling along the wall close to the flowerbed platform. There was another guard standing on the platform.
Having just climbed onto the wall, Elina killed one of the patrolling guards with a smooth attack of her hidden blade.
“Assassin! Assassin-!” The other two guards began to yell in alarm.
“My goodness!” Elina exclaimed, turning pale when she saw many soldiers swarming toward her. “Are you guys in? I failed to sneak in!”
“I’m using musou now!” Harrison yelled.
“I’ve killed about four soldiers!” another assassin shouted, “I failed to sneak in; I’ll try that again next time!”
“…”
“Yaaa-!” Drawing out her longsword, Elina yelled and charged at the soldiers.
In a flash, she killed one with a counterattack.
“Wow-! This counterattack is awesome!” From behind her came Elf Girl Sala’s exclamation.
“Oh…” Hearing this melodious praise, Elina perked up with confidence.
Then, she lifted her left hand and shot one soldier dead. Next, she hacked and slashed with her sword at the soldiers.
“Ayahhh…” She used ‘musou’ and battled.
Surrounded by enemies, she swung her blade and killed them without even taking a better look.
– Several minutes later –
“Hu…” On the screen, Ezio, whose white robe had turned red from blood, heaved a sigh of relief, and Elina said, “I’ve killed about a dozen of them. No one sees me now; I can continue to sneak in …”
She was on the outer range of the castle, and the soldiers would come in groups of four or five instead of ten, which meant that she could take care of them and continue the game.
Another assassin said, “… I lost synchronization.”
Assassin Harrison said, “My HP is low, and I will soon lose synchronization. I’ll recover first. No one knows where I am now; I’ll sneak in…”
“Wow… You killed more than ten guards!” Elf girl Sala exclaimed, “Awesome!”
Elina turned her head and saw that it came from an elf girl.
“Do you want to play together?” Elina remembered that they could play the multiplayer mode in the later stage.
“Okay!” Happily, Elf Girl Sala added Elina as her friend.
At this moment, the whole castle tightened its security with the discovery of intruders. Elina still thought that she, a qualified assassin, must do the assassination in a stealthy way.
Before the next group of soldiers came, she leaped onto the roof of the castle to avoid them. While she moved on the roof, she witnessed Cesare’s ambition and schemes.
“Are you practicing combo kills and preparing for musou?” Elf Girl Sala asked curiously.
“No…” Elina’s pretty face twitched. As a real assassin, she must assassinate in a stealthy way!
She said immediately, “I’m doing an assassination.”
Then, she moved along the eaves silently.
“If I move stealthily, no one will discover me!” As a real assassin, she certainly couldn’t act in the same way as ordinary people. Elina decided to show the friendly elf girl her true strength.
She controlled Ezio to stick out his head and glance around. Glancing at the patrolling guard on the roofs, he took out his hand crossbow silently. “Look. I’ll just shoot him with the hand crossbow, and he won’t see me.”
Then, she shot out an arrow with her crossbow.
“He’s here!” Suddenly, Elina heard a yell. It came from a guard hidden in a spot dozens of meters away from the dead patrolling soldier.
“Ahhh-!” Aware that the elf girl was watching her play, Elina was furious that she was spotted by this sharp-eyed guard. Erupting into action, she dashed over and slashed her sword furiously.
“My goodness! I was spotted again!” Beside her, Harrison yelled, “Were you guys spotted?”
“No. I’m still sneaking in!” With gritted teeth, Elina looked at the bodies lying all around her with a blush on her pretty face. “Now, no one discovered me!”
She continued to move stealthily.

The Laptop Hero (Portal/Isekai LitRPG)
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] - April 2022 Silas got summoned to another world—by a group of kids attending magic school who seemed rather unhappy with the results of their ritual. After a brief glimpse of his summoners Silas woke in the town dump. Unable to speak the local language, a misunderstanding escalated and before long Silas wound up in a jail cell, the locals having confiscated all his worldly possessions aside from his laptop, which had formed some strange bond with him. Now he can summon his laptop at will, and he can view his Status, level up, and gain powerful skills and magic as if he were some character in a video game, which is great and everything, but all Silas really wants to do is sit in a dark room and play games on his laptop. Only, life isn't a game, and Silas needs to get his act together because everyone else is playing for keeps. Or does he? Maybe for Silas life is just one big game now, with everyone else stuck playing by his rules. Assorted Disclaimers, in no particular order: I am only posting this on RoyalRoad.com, so if you find my story elsewhere it was not posted by me. Please do let me know! While I do consider this a progression fantasy, and have tagged it as such, Silas's Status improvements will not necessarily proceed in a linear fashion. His RPG stats will have ups and downs, exploits and nerfs, periods of growth and stagnation. Such is the life of a gamer, to be held under the thumb of the all powerful devs, or in this case a certain goddess devoted to the idea of Balance. SIlas himself should learn and grow, improving and progressing in areas where he struggles, or rather, to show such is my goal. The story is told from multiple points of view. While other PoVs will come and go, Silas shall remain the only lead character. The world Silas finds himself on is not a nice place. Expect him to encounter gore and traumatizing content and bad people who do bad things for selfish (or possibly noble) reasons from time to time. Some characters will use profanity, however due to cultural differences the curse words used will differ from those used in our corner of reality, so I'm not including the profanity content warning. Silas himself isn't one for foul language. No explicit sexual content here. This novel is intended for mature readers, however, and will include mature topics, including, but not limited to, sex, violence, death, and taxes. No harem. Might be an eventual romantic interest, possibly even some competitive jealousy, yet as his story begins Silas is too overwhelmed with other concerns to consider long term plans. Musophobics might want to steer clear of this story. Same goes for turophobics. You have been warned. Keep in mind, however, if my other disclaimers didn't make this clear, I only have the faintest of outlines at the moment. This story will take me where it will. My goal with this story is to write it to the end, something of a long-term writing exercise, with the hope others might take an interest in my work and encourage me to keep at it. I've started a number of works before, even finished a few, but this is the first time I've shared any work in a public forum. My temporary cover was made by me, in GIMP using public domain images. If you can do better I'll happily accept your submission and give credit for your work here!

Madness Led by the Hands
‘Great, no… splendid. It was for naught.’ ‘Naught? Depends. If your desire is to send an army of killers our family’s way, yes indeed. If it’s plain survival you seek, then no.’ ‘They don’t coexist?’ ‘What… don’t tell me you’re still all groggy from the fall. Perhaps in novels, but real life is much tougher–––many more times a drag than anyone can possibly imagine. If dusty history is not a reliable teacher for you, then the pandemic surely took that place. At least that one has the advantage you needn’t be literate to savvy how reality always trumps imagination.’ ‘Whatever you say, whatever you say. So… what now?’ ‘Now? Isn’t it obvious? Now we shall survive. And live a good life.’ ‘Ohh… pretty much everything here has something against this little weird wish of ours. Might you consider?’ ‘Then pretty much everything here is a goner.’ ‘Hm, I don’t like the sound of that. Too much trouble, you see. I’d prefer laying low somewhere safe.’ ‘…nobody told you it’s mutually exclusive, no–––or did you forget about that too?’ ‘Fine, then I wish my future enemies all the best.’ ‘They are undeserving of your pity.’ ‘Of course not. That unlucky bunch won’t ever comprehend the reason behind their demise. Just let me smoke in peace and offer my condolence in advance.’ ‘Idem, let me study alchemy, unobstructed by all, if possible. This also includes you. By the way, are you sure you smoke to offer condolences? It seems like an excuse to me.’ ‘I-it is none. Plain truth, you see?’ ‘Seriously, why did I even ask...?’
