My Little Sweet Wife Chapter 440

Jia Zhenzhen was surprised for a moment, then frowned as if she was dissatisfied with Jiang Ruolan's attitude. "Lan! Did you forget who forced your mother to death! The truth is right in front of you. How can you say that?"
"I will make my own decisions on how I will handle this. I'm very grateful that you were able to tell me all of this today, but I must tell you, I won't do anything for you." Jiang Ruolan's gaze was firm as she looked at Jia Zhenzhen with dissatisfaction, "I won't be your chess piece, and don't use some of your skills on Yijun too!"
"You …" It was obvious that Jia Zhenzhen's scheme had been disrupted, and she was even more furious at Jiang Ruolan's unexpected attitude. "Don't tell me you don't feel anything for your mother? The Xian Family gave you twenty-one years of suffering and forced your mother to death. Just because you have a good life recently, you were able to put down everything, regardless of the reason for your mother's death? Or perhaps you are this selfish. For the sake of your so-called love with Xian Zihao, you don't even care about your mother!"
"Auntie Jia, as I said, I will choose my own path! You don't have to use words to provoke me! I just want you to know that it's your business to take revenge on the Xian Family but don't.. Don't ever think of using Yijun and me. It's enough for us to know about the things your previous generation had done. We will learn from it and make the decisions by ourselves. We will not be controlled by you!"
"I won't stop you if you want to take revenge on the Xian Family, but don't let Yijun and me suffer from it." Jiang Ruolan looked at her. "You should understand what I mean."
Jia Zhenzhen raised her eyebrows and looked deeply at Jiang Ruolan for a while before nodding with a smile. However, her hands were tightly gripping the armrests on both sides of the wheelchair, and her knuckles turned white. "Good, good, good! You're actually warning me!"

Jiang Ruolan did not retort.
The truth of the matter made Jiang Ruolan feel very uncomfortable. She was stuck in a dilemma, but she can't forget the other reasons she came today. Whether it's Jiang Yijun or herself, they definitely can't be Jia Zhenzhen's tool of revenge!
"It looks like the Xian Family really did get a good granddaughter-in-law!" Jia Zhenzhen laughed coldly, "So to you, this truth is only mediocre! It turns out that your mother's death was nothing more than the death of a stranger to you."
"Don't provoke me with words." Jiang Ruolan looked at her again before she looked away.
"In the short span of less than a year, the Xian Family has given me a warmth that I haven't felt for over twenty-one years. I will weigh the pros and cons in handling this matter. Please don't make us push you away. Even if Yijun is your son, I would never allow you to use him. I will come to see you again next time." With that, Jiang Ruolan walked out of the backyard of the sanatorium without looking back.
Jia Zhenzhen stared at Jiang Ruolan's back for a long time. She did not say anything. However, the fingers that gripped the armrests on either side of her tightened.
Jiang Ruolan walked out of the sanatorium. Just as she reached the entrance, she saw Xian Zihao's car parked by the side of the road. He was leaning against the door.
When did he arrive? He didn't go inside but waited outside for her?
Jiang Ruolan looked at him with a dull expression.
"You're done?"
Jiang Ruolan was standing blankly in front of the sanatorium door when Xian Zihao saw her. He smiled at her and beckoned for her to come over.
Jiang Ruolan didn't move and right now, her mind was in a mess. She didn't know how to react. She just looked at him for a while and looked at his smiling face, as if he didn't know what had just happened inside.

However, the wise Xian Zihao already knew Jiang Ruolan's purpose for coming here before bringing her here today.
Jiang Ruolan took a deep breath and smiled as she walked towards him. Xian Zihao immediately took her hand and hugged her. He stroked her hair gently. "You've been chatting inside for such a long time."
"Auntie Jia is already old, so it's hard to keep her from telling her story. Fortunately, I have nothing better to do, so I have to be patient and listen to her finish the story before I leave."
Jiang Ruolan's expression didn't change as she hugged his waist. Xian Zihao bent down to look at her expression. His gentle eyes were locking onto her smiling eyes.
"Her story?" Xian Zihao gave a faint smile. He put his hand on her shoulder and patted it lightly. "Is it a nice story?"
This kind of feeling he gave to her was akin to that of a loving couple who didn't have any grudges or bad thoughts towards each other. Everything was so natural.
"Xian Zihao, could it be that your heart is the most precise testing instrument? How can you see everything clearly?"
Jiang Ruolan was no longer able to laugh, but she was still unwilling to leave his arms.
Her voice carried a little bit of helplessness, a little bit of loneliness, and too much remorse and sadness. Her gaze was fixed on him just like that, and she unconsciously expressed a kind of reluctance to part with him.
Xian Zihao didn't seem to understand the question. He just hugged her and stroked her hair. "I can't see anything now except you."
Jiang Ruolan's expression froze as she stared at him blankly.
Xian Zihao smiled as he lowered his head and gently kissed her forehead. His voice was still calm and gentle as before, "Ruolan, every person's life will be tested. I believe that this will be the beginning and not the end result. "
Jiang Ruolan just stared at him. Xian Zihao smiled as he continued stroking her hair with his fingers. "Idiot, if Han Xuegang hadn't accidentally let us get together a year ago, how would you be now if you didn't have me in your life? How would a hedgehog like you do in the face of all the suffering in your life?"
Now, that tenacious little hedgehog had almost been bred into a small white rabbit by Xian Zihao. The little grass that had been used to being beaten by the wind and rain for more than twenty-one years had been spoiled by him into a flower in the greenhouse in less than a year.
Jiang Ruolan was used to his kindness, his gentleness, his trust, and the way he always protected her.
Habit was such a terrifying thing.
What was wrong with Xian Zihao being like this? He didn't have anything to do with the things that had happened twenty-one years ago.
"Zihao." Jiang Ruolan looked up at him and suddenly asked without thinking, "Zihao, if you..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Xian Zihao had already placed his hand on her lips.
"Life is life. There are no assumptions or ifs."
There was a trace of helplessness in his slightly hoarse voice, as well as a kind of heartache that made her heart sink. His gaze was like water, but in the end, he only held her hand and smiled as usual. "Let's go home. It's about to rain again tonight."
Jiang Ruolan didn't say anything. She just lowered her head to look at the hand that was holding hers. At that moment, Xian Zihao held her hand tightly and looked at her with a determined gaze. He didn't ask if she wanted to go back with him but was waiting for her to go home with him.

The Ruined Monks of Rothfield Monastery
Erin is the youngest member of the dark monks; a supernatural brotherhood whose ultimate mission is to improve the dire circumstances of poor, war-torn villages using powers unique to each member. Or so he was led to believe. Erin, like his brothers, does not age, and that is, unfortunately, the only trait he shares with them. He cannot charm or compel like Woodrow, he cannot cast illusions like Knox, he was not swift like Swithin, not powerful like Blake. He was barely an assistant to his dear brother Wilbur, with his herbology and alchemy. He was told to lie low and make himself scarce. That is what he did. The dark monks temporarily reside in abandoned monasteries scattered around the country, feeding the poor and healing the sick, nurturing the monastic lands until it was fertile enough to raise crops and rear animals. As the years passed, they would leave these reformed, repopulated, self-sustaining monasteries and venture froth to help the next settlement. Yet, after years of toiling and quiet servitude, Erin notices that people and the country itself are declining. The villagers look gaunt, the once-lush soil now barren and cracked. He begins to feel disheartened, thinking that their mission is proving futile. Still, their leader Blake is steadfast and charges onward, and lately has his eyes set on a certain monastery in a thick, thorned forest that seems to diminish, even nullify their powers. A thick forest that Erin somehow has a connection to. A thorned glade where an ethereal voice calls his name with one simple request along with a promise:Heal the land, child. Heal the land and I promise to give you sanctuary so long as you stay. I promise to nurture you as you nurture me. As Erin cultivates the land, the land, in turn, gifts all its caretakers with new, enhanced skillsets on top of their unique powers -- skills of protection, healing, and magic. Magic. Erin had long wished to see the world fill with it again. The people, regardless of common or noble blood, still believe that magic will enter this world again. Magic to bless the king like it did the Saints. Magic to dispel the miasma befouling the world. Magic to bring back the fae folk and their many forms. It is up to Erin to forge the many paths leading to a bright future; to build a prosperous paradise that welcomes all races and bloodlines, by mastering the rewards gained through agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry, smithing, crafting, and fishing. Erin may also find a lifelong friendship and romance with his neighbor, Claude, if he decides to pursue him, and may even join him in the military campaign outside the monastery. The darkness still lurks outside, after all, and the mastery of his skills, along with a few good friends, may finally be enough to turn the tide in their favor. Most of all, Erin wants to keep the vow he set for himself: to protect everyone and everything he loves until his dying breath.
