It was still raining heavily outside when she went out looking for Xian Zihao. Since she hadn't returned for a long time, Wan Shoushan and Xie Mei must have thought something bad had happened to her. If they ask the staff, they will definitely tell them that Xian Zihao and her have been found together.

And that's why Wan Shoushan actually came to look for her.

Jiang Ruolan gently stroked her forehead, a little worried about the situation's development. She tried to prop up herself by holding on to the edge of the bathtub, but her ankle was so swollen, and she could only take three steps forward before she hissing in pain.

The sound of the door being closed was heard outside. Jiang Ruolan couldn't hear Xian Zihao's voice nor could she hear Wan Shoushan's next words. Presumably, Xian Zihao told him to come out and talk.

After about five or six minutes, the bathroom door was pushed open and Xian Zihao walked inside. Seeing that she was standing in front of the bathtub, he shook his head helplessly. "I told you not to move, didn't I? Why are you stubborn."

Jiang Ruolan didn't say anything. She just looked at his face, only to see that there was nothing wrong with his expression. Xian Zihao simply picked up the towel, wrapped it around her body, and carefully carried her out. He placed her on the bed and casually took the new ice bag that the staff had just brought and put it on her ankle.

Jiang Ruolan thought that Wan Shoushan and Xian Zihao probably didn't talk much, so she pulled the towel on her body and reached for her phone on the table. Just as she took her phone, she heard Xian Zihao ask, "What's going on between you and Wan Shoushan?"

"He cares about you." Xian Zihao glanced at her again.

Jiang Ruolan didn't know what Wan Shoushan had just said, but she and Wan Shoushan were indeed innocent. Seeing Xian Zihao's meaningful expression, Jiang Ruolan didn't know where to start to explain. "Two years ago, I just graduated from university when I came to this company as an intern. At that time, I was directly assigned to the Department of Commerce. Wan Shoushan was my mentor. He helped and taught me a lot. I won't be here if it weren't for him. He was a lot older than me by ten years."

Jiang Ruolan looked at Xian Zihao's unsmiling expression and asked, "I just heard him knocking on the door. What did you guys say?"

Xian Zihao got up and poured a cup of tea for her. He then turned around and looked at her. "Why are you asking? Are you afraid I said something to him?"

"Nope. It's just that Brother Wan has always taken care of me. I lived in F City for four years, and even though I worked at the company for two years, I have many friends and memories there. I just don't want to hurt these friends of mine, including Brother Wan, who thinks that I'm single and has goals for me. I didn't agree to his pursuit though and I didn't have any ambiguous feelings towards him. I just didn't want you to hurt him."

Xian Zihao nodded and said nothing.

Jiang Ruolan saw that there were two plates of fruits on the table. She remembered that the fruits in Aerial Club were really delicious, and she left the club without eating much when she went to look for Xian Zihao. She was starving now.

Jiang Ruolan tried to get up to get some fruits.

"Don't move. Just say whatever you want. Your feet need to rest." Xian Zihao immediately held her down.

She then pointed at the fruit bowl. "Fruit."

Xian Zihao walked to the table and took the two plates of fruit. He placed it within her reach. Jiang Ruolan sat up straight and took a slice of apple from the plate.

Seeing that she seemed to be quite hungry, Xian Zihao smiled and put the hair by her cheeks behind her ears. "You didn't eat tonight?"

Jiang Ruolan nodded her head while munching on the apple. "It's fine. Eating this fruit will make me full. It's late anyway."

Her phone suddenly rang. Jiang Ruolan hesitated for a moment, thinking that it might be Wan Shoushan. If it was, then how could she say it without hurting him? She did not intend to hide things from him.

Looking at the time, Wan Shoushan should already have gone to sleep, so it mustn't be him. Jiang Ruolan took her phone and saw it was Jiang Yijun. She forgot to tell him that she would stay at Aerial Club tonight. No wonder he was calling her.

"Hello? Yijun, I'm going to spend the night at the Aerial Club tonight. It's raining heavily right now and the road under the mountain is too slippery and unsafe." As soon as she answered the call, she immediately explained it before Jiang Yijun had time to open his mouth.

"I thought something had happened to you. You never forget to call me if you come home late." Jiang Yijun's anxious voice came from across the phone. "Stay at the Aerial Club for the night? Is it safe? Do you want me to come and pick you up?"

As she was talking, Xian Zihao came inside the room and saw her on the phone.

"No need. The road in this mountainous area is too slippery. Climbing a mountain is no different than going down by car. The road is too steep. Don't worry about me. You rest early." Jiang Ruolan said while holding the phone.

Xian Zihao stopped walking towards the French window when he heard her words. He looked back at her and asked in a low voice, "Is it Yijun?"

Jiang Ruolan nodded and was about to hang up when Xian Zihao walked over and took her phone. She was stunned for a moment as she watched his actions.

Jiang Ruolan saw Xian Zihao put her phone by his ear. She didn't know what Jiang Yijun had said on the phone, but all she heard was Xian Zihao saying, "Don't worry, she's with me."

Jiang Ruolan immediately stopped chewing the apple. Jiang Yijun must have said something as she watched Xian Zihao raise his eyebrows. "Spring Festival is near, you don't plan to return to H City?"

After that, the phone went silent for a long time, then Jiang Yijun said something again. Jiang Ruolan couldn't hear what he said clearly. She could only stare at Xian Zihao's face as he answered the phone.
