My Little Sweet Wife Chapter 170

Jiang Ruolan paused and then hesitantly asked, "Mom, I still don't know much about Xian Family. Zihao has no siblings other than Guiying, right?"
Zhan An's hand that was covering the thermos suddenly froze. She turned around and looked at Jiang Ruolan.
Noticing her rather strange expression, Jiang Ruolan immediately confirmed her thoughts.
It seemed that ninety percent of Yijun's background was related to the Xian Family.
Could it be that Xian Jian secretly had an affair with another woman and Yijun is his illegitimate son? But how could such an intelligent woman like Zhan An not realize it?
With Zhan An's personality, if she knew that Xian Jian was fooling around with other women, then the Xian Family wouldn't be in such a peaceful state. But Yijun...What is his relationship with Xian Family?
At that moment, Xian Zihao pushed open the door to the ward and walked in. When he saw Zhan An, he smiled. "You're here so early?"
Zhan An put the thermos back into the bag and turned towards Xian Zihao. "How many days have you not slept? What do you say, let me just stay here and take care of Ruolan today?"
"Mom, you don't have to take care of me. I'm fine now." Jiang Ruolan hurriedly said.
Although Xian Zihao's appearance was somewhat haggard, he didn't lose out to his gentle and refined manner. "It's fine. I will take care of her."
Zhan An didn't insist and nodded. "I'll be going then. I'll come back tomorrow. Take care of yourself, Ruolan."
Zhan An took the thermos and left. Before she left the ward, her footsteps paused for a moment. She turned around and looked at Jiang Ruolan. She smiled at her affectionately and walked out.
Jiang Ruolan could vaguely sense that Zhan An's mood seemed to be a little down as if something was hanging over her shoulder, but she didn't want to say it.
When Xian Zihao sat down, she suddenly remembered that he had gone out with Qin Gengxin. She glanced at the door and then at him. "Where's Qin Gengxin?"
"On the roof."
"Oasis Platform?" She was surprised. "What is he doing on the roof? He won't jump off the building, right?"
"Do you think that's possible?" Xian Zihao chuckled and said softly, "Let him calm down."
She sighed in relief. "As long as he doesn't jump out of the building."
When Jiang Ruolan was four years old, she saw her mother commit suicide by jumping from a building, and now, she almost lost her life because of it. The words 'roof' and 'jump from a building ' are very sensitive to her.

Xian Zihao gently held her hand. His gentle gaze fell on her pale face.
Jiang Ruolan was infected by the gentleness in his eyes and gradually let go of the fear and shadow in her heart. She smiled and said, "Mom just fed me a lot of chicken soup. I'm full now."
After saying that, she raised her hand and stroked Xian Zihao's chin. Her fingers touched the corner of his mouth, and her eyes could not hide the pain in her heart. "Does it hurt? Why didn't you dodge just now?"
Xian Zihao only smiled gently and pulled her hand away. With a gentle and somewhat comforting voice, he said, "I'm alright."
"You're still saying that you are fine when there's even a bruise on your chin." Jiang Ruolan frowned, her eyes full of guilt.
She knew that she owed Qin Gengxin too much, but his punch on Xian Zihao's face made her feel unease. If she had not been timid in this matter and didn't lie, Qin Gengxin might not have been so angry.
This kind of concealment and deception was a mistake, and she regretted it, but whenever she wanted to open her mouth, she could not say it.
"I'm sorry." Jiang Ruolan looked at Xian Zihao apologetically. She released her hand from his palm, then stroked his bruised chin. When she thought back to the time when she and the laborer fell, her mind went blank for a moment, and then, it was filled with reluctance.
She wasn't willing to give up and was afraid. She did not want to let go of the warmth she had felt. Xian Zihao's face, voice, appearance, and everything about himself have been her reason to restrain her life. She did not want to die.
"What do you mean by sorry?" Xian Zihao took Jiang Ruolan's hand that was stroking against his chin. He also lightly tilted his head and kissed her palm, and just as she was about to pull her hand back with a slightly embarrassed smile, he gripped it tightly. "Don't be so silly in the future. No matter what, I don't want to see you putting yourself in danger for me again."
His gaze was filled with the eternal tenderness that flowed into her heart, causing her to let out a rare coquettish smile. "I'll think about it."
Xian Zihao gave her a serious look, and the grip on her hand tightened like he was punishing her, but she didn't feel any pain. She just felt she had been doted by him.

Jiang Ruolan chuckle, "Alright, I understand. In the future, before I do anything, I will definitely listen to your advice and won't act rashly again. Actually, I know that I was lucky this time. If I really fell, losing two lives at a time would be quite a big deal."
"What two lives? Don't talk nonsense!" Xian Zihao reprimanded her coldly with dissatisfaction.
Jiang Ruolan pouted her lips and acted like a spoiled child all of a sudden. "Hubby, you're so fierce ~"
Seeing that she could still be so mischievous even when she had just recovered her life, Xian Zihao was completely helpless against her.
Suddenly, his phone rang. His gaze was calm when he was looking at the number displayed on the screen.
"Who is it?" Jiang Ruolan curiously asked but seeing his faint expression, she already knew the answer.
"Zhou Shufen." He did not hide it.
"She must have something important to talk to you." Jiang Ruolan smiled. "I'm tired. I want to rest for a while. You can go out and answer the phone."
However, Xian Zihao didn't go out. Instead, he glanced at her indifferently, indicating that she was injured on the back of her head and warned her not to move recklessly. He then pressed the answer button in front of her.
On the phone, Zhou Shufen said that she had heard that something had happened to Jiang Ruolan a few days ago and wanted to visit but was stopped by Senior Zhou. But hearing that Jiang Ruolan had passed the dangerous period, Senior Zhou decided wanted to tag along to visit, asking if it was convenient for them to come.
Zhou Shufen used Senior Zhou's name to come over and didn't even give Xian Zihao a chance to refuse. Before he could express his stance, Jiang Ruolan whispered to him, "Don't worry too much about me, I'm fine."
Xian Zihao pursed his lips, glanced at her, then said lightly into the phone, "There are too many people in the hospital, and Senior Zhou is already too old, so he should rest more in the hotel. After Jiang Ruolan is discharged, I will bring her home."
On the other side, Zhou Shufen was momentarily stunned by Xian Zihao's straightforward rejection. She hung up the phone after a moment of silence.
After hanging up the phone, Xian Zihao saw Jiang Ruolan staring at him in a daze.
"Hubby …" She called out to him in a spoiled and tender voice. She rarely used such a sweet tone. This was the first time she had called him in such a delicate manner, and he was actually rather pleased.
Xian Zihao gently smiled as he brushed the hair that would often stick to her forehead, and with a warm and gentle gaze, he leaned forward and lightly kissed her forehead. "Alright, you're still too weak. You've been up for so long, it's time to go to sleep."
"You should sleep too." Jiang Ruolan's eyes were wide open, her hand stubbornly held his hand, unwilling to part. Looking at his haggard appearance, she felt pain in her heart.
Xian Zihao hadn't slept well for the past few days.
"I need to watch you sleep." He pulled the blanket over her body, his voice was gentle.
Jiang Ruolan wanted to persuade Xian Zihao to go to sleep as well, but when she saw a row of sofas by the window, she didn't say anything more. Xian Zihao wasn't a child, so of course, he knew how to take care of himself.
Jiang Ruolan closed her eyes and let the exhaustion engulf her once again.
She fell into a deep sleep.
When she woke up again, she found that the sky was already dark.
The moment she opened her eyes, she slowly turned her head to look in the direction of the sofa. Sure enough, Xian Zihao was there, sleeping.
He had stayed up all night taking care of her and it made her feel a bit apologetic. When she saw how he was sleeping, she couldn't help but curl her lips into a smile.
Jiang Ruolan wanted to get up and put a coat over him, but she didn't have the strength to do so.
She had lost too much blood. Was it that serious?
Her entire body was as soft as cotton! She couldn't muster up any strength at all!
Jiang Ruolan could only sigh to herself as she watched Xian Zihao sleeping.
She didn't feel sleepy anymore. She spent her time looking at Xian Zihao. Only when she felt a little tired did she turn her head around and look at the ceiling.
She lowered her eyes slightly and saw an elegant figure walking into her ward. That person was dressed in a sports attire with an unknown brand but from excellent material. Her hair was tied up into a neat ponytail. Her pretty face and delicate appearance made people take a second look at her. It was Zhou Shufen.
