These monsters belong to the Disease family of monsters. They had red pustules growing on the rest of their bodies. Some of them were still bubbling while some had already broken, releasing a foul stench into the air.

Lin Huang took particular interest in its details as Disease type monsters were rare and this particular species was the most common type of Disease monster. According to the data, they carried approximately 300 types of toxins and viruses on them, with 10 of these being particularly fatal against humans.

These 10 were known for being contagious and lethal. If they weren’t treated in time, they would cause an epidemic and kill the infected. Anyone who got injured by them, whether it was their bite or claws, would contract these viruses.

Knowing this, he took out his Gray Eagle 17 and took aim at the charging Insanity Demon Hyenas.

Seeing them charge at him, he quietly celebrated instead of panicking. This was the perfect chance to farm some monsters! He got off Tyrant before recalling him and finally summoned Shirou.

In terms of combat strength, both of them were evenly matched but Shirou was better at hunting monsters. With his Lv. 2 Blood arts , he was able to form two Blood Blades, greatly enlarging his attack range.

A pair of blood red eyes appeared in front of Lin Huang blocking the 5 hyenas. It was Shirou and his Blood Wings.

Lin Huang calmly kept his Gray Eagle 17 and retrieved his black iron combat blade, readying for melee combat.

As he locked onto the mutated hyena, he turned towards Shirou and instructed him, ” Shirou, that one on the left is for me.”

Hearing this instruction, Shirou retracted his left wing and let that mutated fellow through.

The scar ridden hyena immediately locked onto Lin Huang with it ashen white eyes. It pounced on the exposed human in front of it, its maw full of drool as it leaped into the air at Lin Huang.

Lin Huang took up a combat stance and prepared to strike. He centered his blade in front of him horizontally and with a cross step forward, swept his blade forward in a horizontal slash, drawing a burst of black blood as it sliced into its target.

The Blood Scarred Hyena gave out a wretched howl as its belly was sliced by the blade. It had exposed its belly as it leaped at Lin Huang and now paid the price for it. A metre long gash ran through it, exposing the intestines within.

“What a beautiful blade technique!” Yi Zheng and Yi Yeyu exclaimed in unison from a giant boulder.

Yi Yeyu was especially surprised by this. Her eyes practically sparkled. She originally thought Lin Huang was just a Beastmaster with a bit of gun skills. She had never seen him use a blade before and was extremely surprised.

“This Grand Desolation Blade Scripture is really domineering. If I was at the same combat rank as that monster, I would have probably sliced him in twain.” Lin Huang gasped as he saw the sight.

That Blood Scarred Hyena had only mutated recently so the bewitching skill cast on him was severely weakened. Having just received such a heavy blow from Lin Huang, the pain jolted it awake, dispelling the remaining half of the bewitching skill. It finally sensed the danger radiating from this human and prepared to run. However, in its panicked state, he didn’t notice the direction he chose was in the path of the stronghold.

Noticing its attempt at fleeing, he took a few steps forward and accelerated in a burst of speed, both his hands gripping his blade as he did so. The wolf tried to swerve as it noticed Lin Huang’s attack from its side however in a flash, Lin Huang was right next to it, his blade impaling its neck.

The Black Iron blade penetrated through its neck like tofu, revealing only its handle. This was a result of the Blade Scripture and not the blade’s sharpness.

However, his move wasn’t over. Gripping tightly on his blade with both his hands, he chopped downwards. As it chopped downwards, the blade left a metre long wound on the hyena and had a depth of 80 cm. The hyena’s neck was basically split in half with its head tilt to the side from the lack of support.

A river of blood flowed from the peak known as the hyena’s head, dying the ground black with its blood. As its blood drained away, the savage Blood Scarred Hyena began to dissolve.

Kuro’s signature announcement popped up once more.

He didn’t have time to check his new cards as Zhou and a few others had rushed to his side.

Shirou had killed 2 of the hyenas while the rest were overwhelmed by the teenagers.

It wasn’t long before this breach was taken care of.

He quickly led the teenagers to the point where the breach occurred. There was a haggard looking Copper hunter desperately trying to fend off several monsters with one arm.

They swiftly rushed to his aid. After killing the monsters, they finally had the chance to ask about the situation.

It turns out that this Copper Hunter had just recently fought the hyenas but in an unfortunate twist of fate, one of the hyenas mutated and took advantage of his surprise to bite his left hand. It was at this point, the hyenas rushed through.

“You need to get that treated immediately. If you delay for too long, it will have a lasting and dangerous impact on your body.” Lin Huang advised him after hearing of his condition.

“But the defenses…” The hunter was put in a tough spot. If he retreated, there would be weakness in the defensive layer.

“We will replace you.” Lin Huang replied in a serious tone.

“It’s fine while there are only a few monsters, but can you guys handle it when a large group of them attack?” The hunter countered, his worry plain for all to see.

“Senior, please don’t look down on us, especially this kid here. He was the one who killed that mutated Blood Scarred Hyena alone in just two strikes.” Zhou Le immediately, recounted Lin Huang’s battle scene, afraid that this hunter would reject their offer.

It was at this moment that they heard Yi Yeyu’s voice from across the battlefield, ” Lu Yang you can head back to the stronghold for treatment, just leave that area to Lin Huang and his team.”

That copper hunter finally relented and left the battlefield, his face full of regrets.
