Everyone turned their heads in shock to stare at the scene —– A teenager, pointing his gun at a girl’s head.
The crowd started clamoring in the background but no one dared to step forward.
This tense situation continued for a while before a youth stepped out of the crowd.
“Hey there, that’s no way to treat a lady.”
Lin Huang ignored him, it felt like a hassle.
“Hey, I’m talking to you!” The youth grimaced as Lin Huang ignored him.
“This has nothing to do with you.”
Lin Huang turned his head and gave him a dirty look, the youth’s expression was one of anxiety, his demeanor totally thrown out the window.
He came to the realization that this youth probably wouldn’t have cared whether or not he pointed a gun at a girl if it wasn’t for the fact that this girl was so attractive. If she was an ugly girl, he probably wouldn’t have self-righteously stood out to defend her in order to win her affections.
“Since you are publicly behaving in a violent manner, this matter concerns me.” The youth continued his sanctimonious tirade. The crowd seemed to agree with him, nodding their heads in agreement.
“Drop the act, the only reason you are defending her is because of her looks, if she was ugly, you wouldn’t have given a her a second look.” Lin Huang immediately spilled the beans.
The youth’s face flushed a bright red as his inner thoughts were exposed by Lin Huang, he immediately countered, ” I’m just upholding justice. No matter who it is, I will stand up for them just the same!”
“Wherever you choose to stand is up to you just don’t waste my time.” Lin Huang really did not care about this youth.
“Brat, you seem pretty arrogant…” At this moment a handsome young man wearing a red trench coat stepped out from the crowd.
Hearing this voice, Lin Huang turned his head around once more and looked at its owner. It was his one-time acquaintance from the snow peaks, Bai Yan. Lin Huang did not have a good impression of him and did not intend to back down from his provocation. He stared back, locking eyes and replied, “What’s the matter, you have an issue as well?”

“You are still beneath me.” Bai Yan coldly replied.
He casually waved his hand and a 5 metre tall, majestic Rakshasa appeared. It’s head nearly collided with the ceiling of the lobby. Its neck was surrounded by a lustrous golden mane which radiated a mini halo as the incandescent light shone upon it. It’s right arm wielded a giant scimitar and along with the bloody smell wafting from its body, the rakshasa was truly murder incarnate.
“Rakshasa , throw him out.” Bai Yan pointed at Lin Huang as he gave out this order.
Lin Huang threw him an envious glance before summoning Shirou, ” Shirou cut off that lion’s arms!”
Shirou immediately turned into his vampiric form, his spectral blood wings shooting out of his back.
The crowd finally realized that this white haired teenager was a minion.
Their eyes lit up at this sight. Usually, seeing a Beastmaster was a rarity but now there were even two in front of them fighting each other, this was unprecedented.
Some even turned on the recording function on their Imperial Heart Ring, intending to record and later post it on the HeartNet.
However before Shirou could attack, a woman’s voice boomed from the crowd, “What are you guys doing?!”

Yi Yue Yu leaped over the crowd and landed in the middle of the pair, knocking back the rakshasa and Shirou.
“Exactly what is going on?” Yi Yue Yu turned to Lin Huang.
Lin Huang kept his gun and tried to explain but was interrupted by girl’s complaints, ” Miss Examiner, he took advantage of you not being here and bullied me. Luckily, this Beastmaster stepped forward to save me.”
The girl only mentioned Bai Yan but left out the youth, not even giving him a second look.
“Lin Huang?” Yi Yue Yu had her own suspicions and didn’t immediately believe the girl.
“She insisted on leaving despite my warnings so I had to resort to violence to detain her. After that, Bai Yan indiscriminately attacked me. I had no choice but to defend myself.” Lin Huang explained his actions in a couple of concise sentences.

“Is that so?” Yi Yue Yu’s face hardened as she turned to the girl, compared to her, she believed in Lin Huang’s words.
Seeing Yue Yu’s expression, the girl no longer dared to lie.
“There are surveillance tapes of the incident. You can watch them if you don’t believe me.” Lin Huang added.
The girl immediately paled, “It was my fault, I should have waited patiently…”
“Bai Yan, you attacked him indiscriminately so you are at fault as well. Apologize!” Yi Yue Yu turned to Bai Yan.
“I refuse. Weaklings do not deserve respect. The day he becomes as strong as me is the day I’ll reconsider.” Bai Yan threw Lin Huang a dirty look before turning around to leave.
Yi Yue Yu wasn’t happy about this but didn’t do anything to stop him. She turned around to face the girl and the teenager she just brought back , “The stronghold’s surroundings are too dangerous at the moment, make sure you listen to Lin Huang’s instructions and stay in the stronghold. Help him ensure no one else tries to leave the stronghold. As for the details, it’ll have to wait till I gather everyone together.”
The pair obediently nodded.
“You did a good job. The next time you meet any resistance you are allowed to beat them up, as long as they aren’t dead it’s fine!” She stared at the pair once more after giving Lin Huang his instructions. She then summoned her dimensional door and left.
After she left, the pair stood silently beside Lin Huang.
Lin Huang recalled Shirou with a wave of his hand and turned to the pair, ” I’ll bring you guys to register for your rooms. You can head to your rooms after that, I’ll be here waiting for more people.”
After registering, the girl went back to her room while the teenager stayed behind.
“You are Lin Huang right? Who would’ve thought that you are a Beastmaster.” The teenager proceeded to introduce himself, “I’m Chen Qiang, a candidate in the Reserve Hunter Exam just like you.”
“Hello.” Lin Huang nodded.
“As far as I know, the hunter exam rarely gets halted midway. You came here earlier than us so you should know a bit more about this situation right. Why did they halt the exam?” Chen Qiang asked with a curious look on his face.
“I’m not entirely sure. I’ve only heard that the monsters around the stronghold have been acting strangely. As for the details, you will have to wait for the head examiner to explain.” Lin Huang replied with the lie he prepared beforehand.
“Oh, is that so. I thought you would have some inside information since the head examiner asked you to help help.”
“Nah, she just asked me to help because they were shorthanded at the moment. Since I came back earlier, I got conscripted.” Lin Huang explained.
“Shorthanded? Do you require my help?” Chen Qiang didn’t offer his help out of any altruistic desire, but because he felt it is was a good chance to score some brownie points with the head examiner. If he got lucky, she might give him a better grade.
“I’m alright for now. As long as you guys don’t leave the stronghold, it will be enough.” He had a hint of resignation in his voice as he said this. He knew that bitch wouldn’t be the last of his worries.
“Even the neighboring One-star hinterlands?”
“Nope”, Lin Huang shook his head, “If you are really bored, you can visit the flea market or visit the stronghold’s entertainment complex.”
“As long as it’s within the stronghold, it’s fine?” Chen Qiang clarified.
“As long as you remain in the stronghold, I won’t interfere with your activities, no matter what they are.” Lin Huang gave him a resolute answer.
