Chapter 815
After hearing the God of Light’s recount, Sui Xiong was silent for a very long time . Then finally, he asked, “So, the God of Knights, he… did he succeed?”
The God of Light did not reply . He merely shook his head .
This answer was not unexpected . The God of Knights had undoubtedly fallen at that time . Sui Xiong was just asking on the off-chance that there was still hope for him .
“But I heard from friends who witnessed the battle that the strength of power at his final moment was beyond imagination,” he said .
“Yes, it was beyond imagination . It was almost close to his peak,” said the God of Light . “But he failed . ”
Sui Xiong was momentarily at a loss for words .
Yes, so what if he was extremely powerful? He failed . He had fallen . Everything became so meaningless .
Among the gods, the old King of Earth Elements of former years was so powerful that he could propel the Earth Element Plane into engulfing the Main Plane . There was even the need for the Master of Order to personally intervene before he could be stopped . The King of Wind Elements relied solely on his own strength to set up a complete circulation within the inner side of the Ring of the World, thereby establishing the concept of the “Inner Plane . ”
But they had all fallen, and that fall meant that they were nothing at all . Many years later, even the people who knew about them were so few . They were completely buried and forgotten in the clouds and dust of history . After a long time, he remembered a QQ signature of a painter friend of his that said, “Wherever one has trodden, there had to be some traces . ”
The God of Light laughed and said, “What you just said made sense, but it’s also very meaningless . ”
Sui Xiong also laughed . After laughing, he asked, “Do you think I’ll be able to use this method of a direct breakthrough of the World’s Origin?”
The God of Light looked at him seriously for a moment, then said, “I’ll advise you not to try . Because the previous one who tried to do so has died . ”
“Perhaps your teacher died because he had abandoned his priesthoods and had become much too weak,” Sui Xiong said .
“You have a point . Maybe your guess is correct, but are you sure you want to put your life on the line all because of this ‘maybe?’”

Sui Xiong thought carefully for a long time and shook his head .
“This is a wise choice . ” The God of Light nodded . Then, two light balls appeared in his hand .
“These two things here, one is for you, and the other is for my junior, who’s all brawn but no brains,” he said . “If there comes a day where I die, these light balls shall be the legacy I leave for you both . ”
Sui Xiong froze for a moment, then asked, “Why are you suddenly talking about this? From how I see it, you don’t look like you’re going to die . ”
“How many people in the world will look like they are about to die?” the God of Light asked him back .
Sui Xiong laughed drying then took the two light balls from the God of Light . Then he asked again, “Which is for me? Which is for my elder brother?”
“Whichever you want . Both are the same,” the God of Light said . He simply touched on the matter lightly by saying, “Just like those dozens of legacies that the good-for-nothing, who I’ve hacked to death before, had given out; these two legacies are exactly the same . ”
Sui Xiong’s smile froze .
After a while, he asked cautiously, “You… know about it?”
“Not at first . I got to know about it later,” the God of Light said . “Although every god who received a legacy was very careful in keeping the secret, a secret was something that would always reveal traces of itself when it’s shared by many . Like what you just said, wherever one has trodden, there had to be traces . I noticed this fast enough, so with the help of a little trick, I managed to get one . ”
Sui Xiong smiled awkwardly . After a moment, he could not help feeling curious and again, he asked, “What do you think of his legacy?”
“His idea is too clichéd; the standard is not high enough . In short, it certainly was very suitable for someone at his level,” the God of Light mocked the former Sun God in a vicious tone . “Even if he was not hacked to death by me, at the end of this road, what awaited him would also not be some greater Divine Power, but rather… Bang!”
He clasped both hands together then push them wide apart to make the action of an explosion .
Sui Xiong nodded . Since he learned about the way the King of Fire Elements had died, he knew that the former Sun God’s way of thinking was unquestionably not feasible . No matter how reasonable this path might seem, the issue of “intrinsic attributes” was ultimately a dead knot that could never be undone .

All the living creatures in this world have their own intrinsic attributes . There were some who had fire, some water, some wind, some light, some order, some kindness… there were also living creatures whose attributes were not so apparent, and there were many others who were merely more inclined towards a certain direction . But unquestionably, no matter how unapparent the attributes of these living creatures were, their most fundamental attributes could always be found by tracing them to their sources .
No matter how all-inclusive, and no matter how they were integrated and expanded, their intrinsic attributes were ultimately unchanging . Even if they could forcibly make some changes to their intrinsic attributes, it would be meaningless—after changing these attributes, they would naturally develop another kind of attribute . There was nothing in this world that could exist “without attributes .
This did not only apply to living creatures, but also to everything else in the world .
The gods, of course, were no exception .
The former Sun God hoped that he could harmonize all realms and priesthoods to complete a “whole world . ” This was simply impossible . No matter how hard he tried, he could forget about trying to incorporate priesthoods that were contrary to his intrinsic attributes . If he ever tried to create such a fusion, he would eventually find himself at a dead end .
Just like the King of Fire Elements, no matter how powerful he was, the moment he tried to integrate the “water” priesthood as one of his, he exploded right away .
This could also be seen from the legacy of the former Sun God . He had clearly put in a lot of hard work and effort into studying the realm and priesthood of the direction of “water” and had done a lot of in-depth research about it . But when Sui Xiong compared his understanding of these realms and priesthoods against that of the former Sun god, he suddenly realized that there was a huge mistake in the god’s understanding . If the Sun God attempted to master these realms and priesthoods according to his understanding of them, he was bound to go wrong and definitely would not be able to reap good results .
Likewise, his studies on realms and priesthoods pertaining to fire and light far surpassed that of Sui Xiong’s . There were many areas that were real eye-openers for Sui Xiong, who could not help clapping and praising his ingenuity while exclaiming, “Oh my god! So that’s what it is!”
After all, Sui Xiong came from the sea and practiced ice power . He was a great expert in water and ice . But correspondingly, he was not good at all when it came to fire and the likes of it .
So from within that legacy, Sui Xiong obtained many valuable things that added immensely to his knowledge and greatly enhanced his power . He could be said to be reborn after undergoing a complete change .
But even so, he definitely did not want to follow the path of the former Sun God .
That was courting his own doom!
Now he was more curious about what kind of knowledge could be found in this “legacy” that the God of Light had left him . Also, what did the God of Light himself receive from that legacy that the former Sun God had left him?
“When you open the legacy that I left you with, you will understand all of these,” said the God of Light, who did not give a direct reply . He purposefully maintained suspense and kept Sui Xiong guessing by saying, “But… maybe you won’t have the chance to see this legacy . Perhaps when I have stepped up to the realm of greater Divine Power, I can personally explain it to you . ”
“You are going to try for a breakthrough to a greater Divine Power?” Sui Xiong was taken aback .
“That’s obviously a given, right? I’m definitely going to give it a shot,” the God of Light smiled and said . “But… I’m still in the midst of preparation . I’m not ready to start yet . It’s still too early .
“I’m just giving this legacy to you now . It’s nothing more than being prepared with precautionary measures, just in case . ”
With that, he stood up and made a gesture of seeing his guest off .
“Wait!” Sui Xiong suddenly recalled his purpose of visit and hurriedly asked, “What do you think of my plan of having a friendly competition with the greater Divine Powers as a way of learning from each other?”
“There’s nothing wrong with having a hand in a fight against the Dragon of Chaos,” said the God of Light . The scene before Sui Xiong changed rapidly . This meant that he was being sent out of the Human God Kingdom, and the voice of the God of Light that was lingering in his ears went on to say, “As for the rest, it’s better not to ask for unneeded trouble . ”

Adagio of the Enlightened
The Elders will tell you the stories and lore. Of our ancestors, their deeds, and of the foes of yore. They will praise to you the chariot, and how it flew to the stars. How it stole the sun's light and slew the night’s roar. The Shamans will tell you the tales of their wisdom. Their wars on schism, and the unlettered world of ours before. Perhaps they will sing you the songs of what our clans' ancient customs tore. Poems of how our ancestors took what the discs had offered them, the manna and the mundane, and made it more. The kings will tell you of the follies, the sins, and the anecdotes of all our ancestors' wrongs. They will curse to you their names, the Ender of Fate and the Ruined Song. How they had dug up the hearts of the discs, euchred its relics, and blasphemed its prophecies, with oracles withdrawn. But they will only tell you the legends, recount the myths, and sing the allegories washed ashore. The Elders, the Shamans, and the kings can only retell what the storytellers of their own time had voiced. What they have read in books or heard in the minstrels' songs they adore. They don't know what really happened. They were never there. They can't tell you how our ancestors slew the angels from the sky, and sent them back to where they belonged. How they poisoned our minds, and made our people slothful and feeble, with the reforms they had undergone. But I can.I can tell you how the Ender of Fate severed destiny's strings, weakened them, and weaved them to our feeble flesh and souls.I can tell you how the Ruined song razed the heavens with her blood-stained melody, and reshaped our hell into utopia, with the deaths she deplored.Because I was there. I can tell you the truth, with my virtue strong. ----> Disclaimer: This will be a slow-burn, character-driven, non-harem, slice-of-life web novel with cultivation and kingdom-building elements. Tur Briste
A Druid cultivation novel. Borrows concepts from Wuxia and Xianxia but using Druid myth and lore. More on this at the bottom. Crow is son of Maddox, a Druid with an ancient bloodline and a people with a story spanning toward the beginning of time. Cursed, unfated, and a heap of bad luck have brought him only pain and suffering, but nothing will stop him. Nothing can stop him. A son of Maddox doesn’t bow his head. A son of Maddox understands that only a man with roots, with something to lose, will fight until the last drop of blood leaves his body. The Draoidh were once a proud people. They were both respected and hated for their form of righteousness. Power wasn’t something they gained through the might of their arms, but through intelligence. Their fall was all the more disheartening for the weaker cultivators. The tens of thousands of years that followed… chaos reigned. They forced Draoidh until most fled to the lower realms, nearly wiped out and exhausted. They went into hiding and became known as the Druids of the Oak. The Druid Order wasn’t the powerhouse it had been, and only nine of the major clans survived the calamity. Their bloodline weakened, as well as their prestige. Even the remaining clans fought amongst each other. Already on the decline and near extinguished, the Maddox clan can only struggle for survival, but their foundation wasn’t a joke. Weakened, but not weak. The other clans will understand this difference soon enough. Tur Briste, the Shattered Tower, awaits Crow’s ascension. Reaching the upper realms is only the first step in reestablishing the Draoidh. The Druids of the Oak remembered every betrayal and grievance, and they’ll return to power and reclaim what once belonged to them. The upper realms may have forgotten, but the Druid Order has not. Please Note:1) This is harem story. There are only a few chapters with sex, and it’s not a focus of the story. I’ll only add graphic sex if I feel the story needs it, so not gratuitously. Either way, Crow has several women. This is in line with Druid/Celtic history, and harems/reverse harems were an accepted part of their culture. Further, they had open marriages, meaning the man or woman could end their marriage at any time. While it was still a patriarchy, women had almost equal power. They were a very progressive culture. 2) There is a period of a 30-50 chapters where Crow loses the ability to cultivate like a Druid so he adopts an eastern body cultivation method for a while. This is temporary, but some people feel it’s misleading, so I am pointing it out ahead of time. I promise, the Druid stuff comes back, and 90% of the lore/myths/creatures/gods are all related to Druid/Celt/Irish/Scottish history. 3) I use many original names, most of which are in Gaelic or Irish. In the story, I refer to this language as Ancient. I enjoy all kinds of folklore and myths, so I encourage you to google those original names as they arrive. I give some background on them at the end of the chapter in my author’s note. 4) I use Ogham runes a lot, these are like the Druid alphabet, and they based each rune on a sacred tree so they also have symbolism associated with them. Again, feel free to google that too. It’s pretty neat stuff. Quick Translations:Draoidh = DruidTur Briste = Shattered Tower or Broken Tower Release Schedule:As of Oct 1, 2021- 3 chapters released every Sunday (May have up to two bonus chapters)- Side character chapters… this might be bonus chapters I release through the week. So they won’t count toward the 3 chapters on Sunday.- Please understand I work full time, have two kids, and can’t spare as much time as I’d like toward my writing. Maybe in the future I can switch to doing this full time, but for now 3 chapters is a comfortable pace for me.
