Chapter 115
“Ha!” Lei slightly shouted then swung up his long sword slashing three or four fish people and their primitive weapons in half . His legs moved quickly . In a blink, he burst into another group of fish people . Only the glow of his sword flashing up could be seen . In a split second, the stinky blue blood of the fish people overflowed on the ground . The group of fish people, who had just roared loudly a moment ago with ferocious momentum, was now lying dead on the ground .
At that place, some soldiers were being besieged and attacked . It was like finding their path to live when they saw Lei coming to save them from the verge of the danger . As they wanted to thank this knight, they soon discovered Lei had left . .
When they looked at the knight whose armor was heavily stained with fresh blue blood, they could see countless dead fish people lying at sixes and sevens on the ground . If someone looked down from the sky, they could see a bloody line, separating the great army of fish people and the defending marines .
Lei bolted into battle, swinging up his sword like wind . Wherever he went there were areas of stinky wind and blood rain . After slashing and killing for a while, Lei suddenly felt empty; he had already swiped across the entire battlefield .
At this moment, he gasped for air and turned around . The only thing he could see were the ferocious and insane fish people who were now terrified by his miraculous supremacy . Their ugly faces displayed a fearful look .
When he swung his sword again and jumped onto the battlefield, the fish people couldn’t restrain the fear in their hearts anymore as they shrieked miserably and ran away .
Leaving behind . . . a battlefield full of corpses .
“Good job!” The old officer whose body was also covered in blood raised his hand to wipe his beard but found blood on his hand again . He hatefully wiped the blood onto his clothes, and raised his thumb at Lei, “Indeed a hero who alone could catch a three-headed snake alive!”
Lei smiled, cast the blood off his sword, cleaned it, and put it back into its sheath .
“This is just an appetizer; the main dish is still to come!”
The old officer nodded . When he saw the great army of the fish people reorganizing their team near the harbor far away, he slightly sighed .
“Those damned monsters, how the hell are they so many?!”
The adventurers and soldiers agreed with sorrowful faces . Seeing the countless fish people lying dead on the ground, if this were on another battlefield, it would have been taken as a great victory . But in a battle against the invasion of the Sea Tribe, this was only considered beating the first wave of the fish people .
Even if he was the most confident and bravest man, he wouldn’t have the slightest hint of optimism when seeing the great army of fish people which were endless far away .
The army of the fish people was still in a mess . Because normal fish people who took up most of the army didn’t understand what the order was . Being chaotic was their innate nature . Only the powerful elite army could fight against that nature to maintain order——they were almost on the level of human kids who imitated soldiers .

In terms of individual strength, the fish people were not strong either . Although the fish tribal chief was on the “powerhouse” level, it was still on the same level as a newbie adventurer! To an experienced adventurer, it was indeed not worth mentioning .
However, the massive number of the fish people had made up for their lack of fighting strength . A grown-up female fish person could lay eggs once every year and give birth to around one thousand fish eggs each time . If they had a priest to perform the incubation ritual, they would have one sixth of the eggs hatched about thirty days later . If they had enough food, half of the larvae with appearances like normal, small deformed fish would be able to survive . After three months, they would complete the transformation . After a year, they would be full grown . After three years, they could reproduce—-in other words, under good conditions, a female fish person only needed one year to give birth to three hundred fish offspring . What was scarier was that after three years, one hundred and fifty offsprings from the first batch would start to lay eggs . . .
This reproduction ability was simply in defiance of the natural order, absolutely ranked the highest among all the creatures with the similar intelligence, and moreover, outpassed the second-grade species several times . The disparity between them was like the gap between a skyscraper and a low shack .
There was a well-known view which said that the reason of the regular invasion of the Sea Tribe was to reduce the excess population to avoid wasting resources .
To the majority of the races with these intelligences, “residence” was an extremely valuable resource . But to the fish people, having more residences was a burden .
Relying on their terrifying number, their most favorite tactic was to flood in like a swarm of bees . They never minded the damage because their number was enough to ignore it . A legendary shaman had once studied a circumstance of a Sea Tribe’s invasion . At that time, he determined that there were approximately a little more than three million fish people——after that he was forced to withdraw by a powerhouse in the Sea Tribe and never completed the statistics .
The number had already been this big . The lack of the individual strength was alright . The disorganized military discipline was also fine . They both were not a problem to them . Moreover, every time the Sea Tribe invaded, there would be a powerhouse from different races to support with casting magic . The fish people would sometimes fall into a frantic state, but before the magic lost its effect, they would not back down and fight to the death .
Facing the enemies whose number was several dozens, several hundreds or even several thousands bigger, not to mention they were ferocious and not scared of dying, who dared to beat his chest and say “I am not afraid”?
Lei didn’t dare to do that anyway .
Even though his martial art was way more advanced than any fish people’s and he could come and go freely in a magnificent army with thousands of men and horses, in theory, with one sword in his hand facing the great army of a million people or more, he couldn’t destroy them even if he had three heads and six arms .

Just a moment ago, he had killed at least several hundred fish people, so what? If he wanted to beat the great army of fish people, he had to repeat that kind of fighting more than a thousand times!
After all, he was just a mortal, he would get tired after fighting for a long time, would get hungry after using so much energy, and he would be in pain after getting hurt . . . The primitive weapons of the fish people could successfully kill people . Once one became tired and fell into the encirclement of the fish people, let alone Lei, even if it was a legendary powerhouse, he would also be eaten alive by the endless waves of enemies .
More dangerous than those fish people were those mighty sea creatures . Although most of them couldn’t leave the water, their enormous powers were really a rock . If one carelessly was grabbed by a sea monster, he would soon fall into the densely packed circle of the fish people . After that, the sea monster might coordinate with the fish people . . . Basically, if one encountered such a circumstance, he could think of his last words .
But the most dangerous ones were not them but those powerhouses who were hiding among the countless number of fish people, disguising their appearances among the fish people .
They didn’t have the pride of a powerhouse, and always changed into ordinary people who were not any different from the fish people . When the terrestrial powerhouses immersed into fighting, they would suddenly attack from behind and launch a fatal move .
From the past until now, many terrestrial powerhouses had died in the invasion of the Sea Tribe . Even superb masters in the legendary realm were not an exception . The majority of them had died like this . Many people still didn’t know the reason when they died .
What made Lei worry the most were those enemies .
He squinted, carefully examining the great army of the fish people who were crawling onto the harbor, rearranging the lineup, wanting to reluctantly form into another formation, and tried to find the powerhouses hidden inside .
In the last fight, he didn’t confront such a powerful enemy . Maybe those powerhouses hadn’t come yet or the previous wave of soldiers was just a cannon fodder to test . But without a doubt, once the Sea Tribe invades, there would definitely be powerhouses of other races mixed in with the fish people—-this was a lesson from countless people who had traded their blood for this . Hence, it couldn’t be wrong!
But his effort was destined to be a waste . The number of fish people was too massive . Their order was too chaotic . Wanting to find several powerhouses hidden in this kind of mess was indeed impossible!
“Fire! Fire!”
When the great army of fish people once again approached to a certain spot on the shore, one by one, enchanted cannons were set up on the harbor and let out ear-piercing explosive sounds . Those low-level shamans were risking their lives to control the enchanted cannons, all trying their best to increase the firing speed . As they had been trained, every time they fired, they could accurately hit the dense place in the fish people’s army without missing a blow .
The cannon bullet which was shot from these enchanted cannons was an enchanted crystal ball covered by a metal shell . It was not stable and it relied completely on the magic formation inside the metal shell to stop it from exploding . Once it was shot out, the magic formation in the metal shell would break up in a short time . After that, the crystal ball would explode and turn into a big eye-glaring flame, whose power could be compared to the famous mid-level magic, the “Fireball Magic” .
The enchanted cannon of Garles City was a classic . Its power was pretty miniscule, but its speed was very fast . In the hands of the low-level shamans who had been trained, more than ten explosive sounds of the enchanted cannon constantly came up, which sounded as if a bunch of giant dragons were angrily growling . The cannon fired in the densely packed army of the fish people, creating holes of flesh and blood .
“Asshole! Go to hell!” At this moment, Sui Xiong was growling furiously . He launched his ice power extremely skillfully, making a big part of the space almost entirely frozen . Although the Devil King Shadow was still able to count on cracking the space to run away, the space that he could transmit to was getting smaller and smaller .
If things went on like this, it would not be too long until it lost the space to run away and avoid Sui Xiong’s attack . It would then only have to use force fighting against force, partaking in a life-or-death battle with Sui Xiong .
If they kept fighting like this, Sui Xiong would secure the victory!
However, he couldn’t help but worry a little bit at heart . The Devil King Shadow is very strange . This is clearly an extremely dangerous moment, yet it still doesn’t want to retreat, so in the end what is it for?
Perhaps . . . is there someone controlling it from behind, making it unable to retreat?
Being able to force a devil creature that has been rampaging in the mortal world for several hundred years to risk its life, or to make it have the guts to gamble its life, its strength is certainly much more powerful than the devil creatures . Is it perhaps a God?
Exactly which God is launching an attack on my church?
On the other side, the battle between Sarah Heim and Tim Thrall had also reached its climax . Two unimaginably giant creatures had entangled with one another . The sight in which a crazy Raging Tide collided with a grim Undercurrent was not easy to see . They created helter-skelter currents in the seabed . Meanwhile, Sui Xiong’s avatar was swinging its tentacles on this side, constantly firing ice power to the part in Tim Thrall’s body that he could sense a God Power, trying to speed up this demon’s time of death .
Right now, I need to seize the time, solving the battle on this side faster to release my avatar a little bit sooner . No matter if it is to enforce Lei on the other side or to join the fight with my original form, it will be a great help .
At this moment, Lei encountered an unexpected situation again .
Frank, who should have left with Liv, came back!

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.
