《Exiled Aristocrat》Chapter 59: Preparation for the last battle Part 02

High-speed running toward a wall, I came to a screeching halt.
With a growl, I felt something massive pass above my head at a ridiculous speed before crashing into a wall with a loud earthquake-like thud.
The thing that went crashing emitted a pained groan, its erratic and loud breathing became increasingly desperate.
I seized my newly acquired ax and proceeded to the crash site, I sent four of my appendages to restrain what appeared from the touch to be a massive Drake.
I put it on its stomach, went on its back, restrained its and with four of my appendage, I attached its four limbs and pulled them toward me, who was behind, it had for effect to splay their limbs into a very unnatural position.
The creature shrieked and screamed in agony.
Since the monster was dotted with through the skin and strong, the process came across as excruciatingly slow and was accompanied by a bone-cracking, flesh-tearing, and blood-squirting noise.
The beast fought for its life, but its limbs eventually broke down
I ripped each of its four limbs away from its body.
Even though the Drake was now limbless, it was still alive, so I approached its head and hammered my ax into its skull.
I hit it over and over until it kicked the bucket.
When I was finished with it, I sent my appendage to retrieve its body and drag it with me back to where I came from, somewhere else on the same platform.
When I arrived, I retrieved a dozen other smaller drake corpses, and then, with the package in hand, I returned to the location I have now designated as my temporary headquarters.
It's been three weeks or so since I did that one visit to the bottom layer.
My arm has healed relatively well, to the point where I can use it as I used to before the accident.

During that visit, I came to the realization that I wouldn't be able to obtain the things I desired since I couldn't kill those wyrms and therefore not reach that plant, at, least not when they are in their element: being underwater.
And it was then that I realized that if I couldn't kill them, all I had to do was make them die.
As I got closer to my office, a nauseous odor became stronger and stronger.
I arrived at the platform, dragging dozens of corpses with me, and then proceeded to a location where several hundred ovoid shells of various sizes were stacked.
After returning from the bottom layer and devising a new plan, I returned to this location and began searching for these ovoid shells.
Fortunately for me, these things, whatever they are, appear to be very fertile in this area, as I have harvested over a hundred in less than a week of search.
I'm not sure what these plants are, but they have an extremely sweet nectarine liquid inside and an incredibly hard, impermeable, and resistant shell texture.
When properly pierced and emptied of the liquid inside, they made a perfect reservoir for anything liquid, and it was precisely for this reason that I needed a lot of them.
As I lifted the Drake corpse above a holed ovoid shell, I made an incision toward its stomach and heard something liquid pouring inside the shell, along with an equally horrifying smell; after a while, instead of something liquid, it was something that solid dropped into the shell with a "plok."
This was why I required so many ovoid shells.
I required them to store the liquid inside the Dragronoid's breath pouch.
This was the solution I devised to deal with the Wyrms and, if possible, the plants.

If those things believe they have an unbeatable advantage underwater, then I, will offer them the most agonizing death in the very waters they are so proud of.
I'll stockpile hundreds of those things and blast them into the lower layer.
And to do so, I needed more and more of those fire-breath liquids and gemstones, therefore I needed to kill more and more of these Dragonoid creatures.
If necessary, I will hunt down every magical beast and high beast in this frozen hell to extinction.
After finishing squeezing the liquid and the gemstone from those monsters, I descended to the Bottom layer, dragging the same mountain of corpses with me.
I began tossing one of the monster corpses onto the bottom layer once I reached a relatively safe but close location to it.
I could hear Wyrms squabbling over the corpses I'd been tossing at them.
Satisfying with the result I returned to the higher stratum.
***
I ran vertically on the wall like a spider, using my tentacles to help me.
Wind blades and fire breath were hurled at me, and the only reason I was able to avoid them only because I was constantly moving, making me a difficult target.
I felt a large shadow fall over me.
A swarm of Wyverns was attacking me.
No, not Drake, but a wyvern.
I had returned to the first layer.
For there was nothing to hunt in the middle layer anymore, or it was getting scarcer and scarcer.
Finding one would take even longer than killing it, so I resorted to something more drastic, but it would be the most cost-effective and time-effective option for me: I'm coming here in the upper layer to hunt wyverns rather than Drakes in the middle layer.
It was a little difficult at first to adapt to the vertical environment, but once you got the hang of it, it was almost as straightforward and easy as hunting Drake in the middle layer.
I swooped down on the colossal Drake whose shadow was cast on me and immediately caught him in my net.
Wyvern might have an advantage in the air over me.
But as long as I take away their stupid wings, they're nothing more than a helpless limbless maggot.
I may resemble a rampant lizard here in the upper layer for walking with so much use on the wall, but my fighting style remains the same: I immobilize the opponent with my limbs, similar to a snake.
I restrained their wing with my appendages, and when the opportunity arose, I tore it apart from its body.
Its massive body, deprived of its wings, fell to the middle layer due to gravity.
I backed away from the tumbling drake and grappled myself to the wall.
I didn't have to worry about the Wyvern body since I didn't kill it; it will undoubtedly fall onto one of the platforms on the second layer and most likely survive.
I can still get whatever I need from it later.
But for the time being, the most important thing is to kill, … to kill them all.
They must all die in order for me to grow stronger.

My Pixie Familiar
Pixies are real. Not only are they real, but are considered pests due to their mischievous nature and love of pranks. Some people think they are magical and making a potion or powder from their wings will transfer that magic to a person. Any good alchemist will tell you that is not true. Most will gladly take your money and make you a "magic potion" though. My name is Jase Fisher and I thought I would follow in the steps of my mother and become an alchemist since I didn't enjoy fishing, hunting, or any of the other trades offered in Beau Ferry, my village. Not only have I been looking forward to being an alchemist, I was looking forward to bonding with a familiar. My biggest fear is not bonding with one of the exciting familiars such as a dragonet. If I can just make it through the bonding process, my life is set. Oh, and not run afoul of any pixie pranks.
