《Tales of Demons and Dragons - An Original Xianxia GameLit》Chapter 177 - Nosebleed

Helena knocked so hard on Juliet’s door she caved the wood a little. But she didn’t care. She had to speak with the other girl. Hektor’s arrival had somehow relegated the news of Jacob’s reincarnation to the background.
And Helena had to pry some more information from Juliet.
Juliet’s mom, a nondescriptive small woman, opened the door, caught like a deer in headlights.
“Helena? Oh, welcome, welcome,” the woman smiled shyly.
“Who’s it?!” a shout came from the living room, the woman’s partner and Juliet’s step dad emerged right after with a dark expression on his face. As soon as he saw Helena, he scowled and went back to whatever he had been doing.
The blonde girl raised an eyebrow but decided to not intrude on Juliet’s personal matters.
“What can I do for you, sweetie?” Juliet’s mom asked with a sincere smile.
“I’m looking for Juliet, is she here?” Helena replied, trying hard not to sound too cold.
“Oh, she is still sleeping. She came back very late and she didn’t tell me what she was up to,” Juliet’s mother clearly had no reign over her daughter. She simply limited to recount to Helena what happened.
“Do you mind if go and wake her up? It’s really important,” Helena said with a soft voice.
“Oh,” Juliet’s mother looked really worried there, but then just nodded. “Please, tell her that it was important.”
‘I don’t want her to get angry with me.’ That’s how Helena intrerpreted her words.
She entered the nice house and went upstairs, where Juliet’s room was.
Every house in St. Peter was quite large since the land was basically for free. No one had wanted to live in a semi-deserted town.
She looked at Juliet’s door and tried opening it.

She locked the door.
Helena took a deep breath and simply pushed.
At their level, a lock was just telling people that they wanted to be left alone. If locks had been barely effective before the whole cultivation became a thing, now they were totally useless.
The door slightly cracked and Helena found a dark plain room.
She saw Juliet on the bed, snoring laudly.
Always the lady.
Then she looked around.
The walls were bare, save for a few pictures of her and her family. Her desk still had some school books on it, opened at the same page they had had a test for the morning the change had happened.
A closet, a few pieces of furnitures more. But that was it. This room could have been deserted if one removed the pieces of clothing all around and those few pictures on the wall.
“Juliet,” Helena got close to the bed and called the girl.
How can she sleep with a person in her room?
Helena furrowed her brows when the other girl didn’t wake up.
“Juliet,” Helena went up to the girl and bent toward her. Then, she softly touched her shoulder.
And that was a huge mistake.
Juliet whirled from the bed and threw a punch, almost unconsciously. Helena, caught by surprise, got the punch straight on the nose. With Juliet’s Sacred Phoenix Body Transcension Technique, Helena got a bloody nose even from such an awkard position.
“What the hell?!” Helena shouted while holding her beautiful nose, now bleeding profusely. “What’s your goddamn problem?!”
“What?” Juliet blinked twice, “what the hell are you whore doing in my room?”
Juliet was usually more composed, but she had barely slept a few hours and saw one of the people she despised the most in her room, an intimate space for her, for all she barely stayed there.

“What was that goddamn punch for, you lunatic!” Helena shouted. “Give me some of your goddamn blood, so it will heal properly, at least!”
“Get out of my fucking room right now before I make you bleed from that fucking mouth too, you bitch! How dare you enter here while I sleep?!”
Helena almost choked.
What kind of reaction was that?
She had gotten in her room, but it wasn’t like she tried to murder Juliet; she had just tried to wake her up. Juliet had the shorter fuse between the two, but Helena wasn’t one to just take a punch and behave all meek.
“I need to talk to you, you dimwit!” Helena shouted.
“Hell if I care! Go out and fix the fucking door too, you bitch. There’s more where that came from!” Juliet pointed to the bleeding nose on Helena’s face.
“Juliet, Christ, behave like an adult for once!”
“You broke into my fucking room and now you tell me I should be the adult?” Juliet was this close to exploding with golden flames.
“Just get up and come with me outside!” Helena shouted in return.
Juliet was tired and the conversation with Jacob from the day before had really left her winded. She had been comforted by the fact that Jacob had calmed down by simply talking to her, but it had still been quite a hit to find Jacob like that. Now, the only thing she needed was some rest and then to go find Jacob to keep him some company.
She had no time to mess with Helena.
“I swear, Helena, either you fuck off or you are going to sorely regret it,” Juliet said with an icy tone.
“You are a lunatic, Juliet. You are going to need a goddamn psychiatrist for your damn issues sooner or later! But I’m here to talk to you and it’s important! And hell if I got a punch for nothing! Get up from that bed before I come and make you!”
The girl on the bed looked up and down the blonde and then licked her lips with a smile.
“Is this the day I teach you some fucking manners and make you spit all your teeth on the ground?”

The Granddaughter of Time
Teresa Hargrove was okay with giving up. She knew the Earth was doomed and there was nothing to be done about it. What she was not okay with was the Future, an enigmatic woman nearly fanatical in her devotion to making a difference, dragging her along — seemingly, to prove her wrong. It turns out though that the Future is very hard to understand. This story contains heavy themes, including mental illness, existential crisis and death. However, I still tried to eventually convey a message of hope. Several mythical and metaphorical beings in the shape of humans will appear in most chapters. However, they are not meant to be of a specific ethnicity or social background and are instead perceived differently by people around them. For your reading pleasure, feel free to imagine them any way you’d like, even if your imagination contradicts descriptions from the story. Enjoy!~
