《Tales of Demons and Dragons - An Original Xianxia GameLit》Chapter 130 - New heights

A Demonic Beast Horde was a very general definition. Hordes could have multiple sources. Some general movements and Demonic Beast migration could be classified as ‘hordes’ for humans. The lack of food and resources was the main instigator for the aggregation of many Demonic Beasts. In fact, even though they generally didn’t fight among them, sometimes it would happen that an area got overpopulated. And that meant that Demonic Beasts would have to move. But Demonic Beasts didn’t move alone because they would risk being killed in the new territory.
Demonic Beasts would move in groups, smaller at firsts, to attempt scouting the region, and then bigger and bigger, until a mass migration happened, a ‘horde’.
In this case, Jacob believed that was the reason. The area around L’Aquila was not very populated by humans, but if Demonic Beast had already taken control over it and, for whatever reason, they were getting a little tight, soon there would be a migration.
Smaller monsters would go first, the weakest of the region. But as soon as the bigger fishes started suffering from the overcrowding, even the stronger Demonic Beasts would mobilize.
Sometimes, the migrations were actually invasions planned by stronger and sentient Demonic Beasts. But Jacob believed that this was not the case here.
Blade Tyrant Martial Style, 2nd stance – Invisible Blade
He cut the Demonic Bloody Wolf’s necks, and the oversized wolf fell as if its strings had been cut.
“F*ck!” Jacob got in his car once again and pressed hard on the gas.
If the first monsters are in the Mantis realm, the strongest ones are in the 4th realm, the Hound realm.
Even if the Alchemic Pasta al Pesto upgraded my talent to the Mantis realm, I still have to cultivate and reach it. Christ, I’m falling behind too fast.

Yes, he had just killed a monster much stronger than him, but just because it was a stupid beast barely able to think. If he met one of the true monsters he had faced in his past life, he would get slaughtered.
Right now, he was comfortable facing normal Demonic Beasts – not the like of Charybdes, to be clear – at the Intermediate Stage of the Mantis realm. But he would struggle against a single Demonic Beast at the Advanced Stage of the Mantis realm. And if one of them were at the Peak of the Mantis realm, Jacob wasn’t sure he would get out of the fight unscathed.
He felt a great sense of urgency. Jacob needed to sit down and cultivate as much as possible. But first, he had to get to his Aunt Linda and Joseph.
They were both at the 4th level of the Mantis realm, which meant that they were at risk. He would bet his ass Geneva could take down one of those Demonic Bloody Wolf even if she had to bite their throats out, but Jacob wasn’t that sure about Joseph and his Aunt Linda, especially if they had to take care of the members of their team.
He passed Blacksoil without even looking if there was someone out on the streets.
“Come on, stupid car,” Jacob gritted his teeth. He needed to cultivate and be able to fly as soon as possible. It was going to take a while before he could fly again, but he sorely needed it.
In this new world, cars were very inefficient transportation means. For example, crossing a forest with a car was impossible. And without maintenance, the roads would soon become very hard to drive on.
If there were one thing Jacob really missed about his past life, that would be flying. He needed to get at the Hound Realm before doing that for any decent length of time. And if he wanted to cross great spaces, like the ocean, he would need an even higher cultivation.

We don’t have craftsmen, smiths, Alchemists, nor Inscription Pattern specialists.
And that was a huge problem.
Without a proper chain of supply for cultivators, they wouldn’t be able to fight wars. No Pills, Alchemic supplies, Inscribed Magic Weapons were equivalent to going to war naked.
The only advantage we have on the most deranged people in the world and the Demonic Beasts is to organize a large structure to take care of all these things.
His past life took a long time before humans started reproducing again and formed large organizations like Sects and Clans. And that happened only because some very powerful cultivator would give his disciples the time to grow and become powerful. But few people had run a tight ship like the war machine that Jacob had envisioned when he reincarnated.
He realized something that he didn’t like one bit.
This time, I can’t go out to solve the Demonic Beast horde problem.
Jacob had to delegate to the strongest warriors, most likely led by Juliet or Epagogia, while he waited and taught every single willing person the skillset humanity needed to survive.
I’m going to be a glorified homeroom teacher.
Jacob sighed. He would prefer to get down and fight, but he knew that he wasn’t required anymore right now. Humankind was more important than fighting monsters with his own hands.
AH! THIS GREAT KEVIN CAN TEACH PUNY MORTALS ALL HIS GREAT KNOWLEDGE! HE CAN BRING YOU, LOWLY MORTALS, TO NEW HEIGHTS! THIS GREAT KEVIN’S KNOWLEDGE IS BOUNDLESS AND UNPARALLELED…
UHM, CAN YOU STILL HEAR ME?
“Yes,” Jacob said.
Kevin the Sword was clearly confused by this turn of events. He was used to Jacob shutting him off so quickly that he had run out of things to say after the third sentence.
