CHAPTER FIFTY EIGHT
Just one victory, one life to save, one lesson learned
~
Twig did as Sky had requested of him and helped Leaf
But Sky’s sudden vitality brought neither boy relief
On Twig’s shoulders, Leaf could do no more than quickly faint
And given Sky’s condition, Twig could offer no complaint
The roar of the big Drake had frightened most weak monsters
And something about Sky discouraged quite a few others
For a while the carried along without being chased
But soon enough that short moment of peace had been erased
Twig, with leaf limping beside him, holding Twig’s shoulder
Followed the Berserker and hid behind a boulder
From there she spent a moment scanning the great rocky hill
While other beasts came to investigate her recent kill
“That should do, the cave beyond that rock formation there
Unless there is a better option of which you’re aware”
Sky pointed toward a small opening to a cave
Twig agreed to save whatever time he could still save
They made a break for it, ignoring monsters everywhere
Barely managing to out run a massive Horn Bear
And as the three dove quickly into the cave opening
Sky turned round to kick the creature that was following
The kick was much too weak to break through the Horn Bear’s thick skin
But the shock of it shook the cave they were all now in
The entrance started crumbling, causing the bear to cry out
But it was crushed beneath the rocks as fast as it could shout
The children backed way into the dark as it collapsed
The rocks all settled after a few moments had elapsed
The three were scared to see no light come through the entrance now
But more relieved to find themselves a bit safer somehow
Sky cast a small spell of fire which lingered in the air

One small glowing sphere that radiated light warm and fair
Leaf, his face now pale, fell to the ground holding his knee
Twig rushed over but was interrupted suddenly
Achievement: Impossible
Did you just appraise that girl, or was there a mistake
There’s no way she’s a Berserker now, that must be fake
Appraise the girl again, and don’t try playing tricks on me
Quickly now, her status is something that I must see
Twig read the words silently while kneeling before Leaf
Confused at his cruel deity’s apparent disbelief
He placed his hands around his friend’s knee to stop the bleeding
And glanced over at Sky, responding to his god’s pleading
~ Name: Sky ~
Title: Chaos Angel
Class: Berserker [7]
HP
[54]
MANA
[86]
ATK
[124]
INT
[13]
DEF
[25]
SPD
[38]
A ten year old with little reservation over death
Enjoying every second in battle with every breath
It’s a shame she likely won’t survive another day
But she’s already entertained us greatly anyway
Achievement: This Can’t Be!
How did that disgusting god of war just claim her soul?!
Enlightenment, not power, should have been her final goal
Berserkers are the last resort of kingdoms in this time
Her fate has been so twisted, this is wrong, this is a crime!
“Twig, why are you staring at me like that, are you hurt?
Let me cast a water spell to wash away the dirt”
She joined him by their injured friend and summoned some water
It washed the dirt out of his cut and helped them see clearer
The wound was fairly deep but didn’t seem life threatening
Not compared to everything outside still happening
She cast a minor healing spell to close the injury
But it would take a stronger spell to heal the injured knee
“Sky, just heal yourself, your class will only dull your pains

Heal yourself while some of your own mana still remains”
Leaf mumbled in protest as the healing spell went on
but he was fast asleep as soon as his own pain was gone
Sky looked up at Twig, relieved the he was uninjured
Then gently smiled and fell toward him as her vision blurred
He lay her down as gently as he could with his one hand
And then from his deity came another strange demand
Achievement: Listen Carefully
Disregard all previous messages that I’ve sent
All that matter now is how you act in this moment
I’m about to teach you something most people don’t know
It’s possible now that your mana can freely flow

8 103Code Name: GLITCH
Major Xiomar Haydn is a damn good soldier, and an even better mechanic, although he does have a tendency to get himself thrown into the stockades for getting on the general's bad side. To keep him busy and out of trouble, Xiomar is assigned the task of repairing an old Mech that hasn't been touched in fifteen years. He knows he can fix it--he's Chief Mechanic. What he doesn't know, however, is that GLITCH has a mind of its own. Literally. In the midst of a war between two countries, Xiomar and his newly-repaired Mech are caught in the middle. The enemy is trying to obtain GLITCH's technology... the power to give their own Mechs sentience and dominate the world. Xiomar finds himself pondering the morality of forcing a sentient being to fight on his behalf, and what that means for him as a dutiful soldier. With the future filled with uncertainty, Xiomar and GLITCH are certain of one thing--no one's going down without a fight.
8 209Black Carbon
It has been eighteen years since the Goron Empire invaded earth, enslaving all of humanity—or whatever is left of it. Ethan wants to change the fate of humans from inside the system. Della wants to change the fate of humans from outside the system. Two inseparable siblings, and two separate paths. Three days after Ethan’s and Della’s father is forcibly banished, they separate to go on their own journeys. Will they meet again, despite following completely different paths? And if they do, will they be friends or foes? 1) It's a dual MC novel -- there are always 2 PoVs in every chapter (Ethan and Della). 1k~2k words for each PoV.2) It's soft sci-fi. I will explain world-building in the best way that I can, but it's not necessarily explainable by physics.
8 212The Spell Crafter
The War is over and the Union of Kingdoms is at peace... Yet conflict casts a long shadow and not everyone can let go of the years of blood. Amidst rumours of necromancy and against a backdrop of suspicion, Kanick of the Battlemages is called from retirement to investigate the mysterious death of an old friend. As the case begins to unfold, Kanick and his new apprentice realise that not all is right with the Kingdom and personal tragedy threatens to blossom into a crisis that could consign the world to centuries of darkness.
8 440The Queen of School
Hi there, my name is Jason Corvus, you can call me Raven. My parents really (like a lot) wanted to have a boy, so when they found out that I was a girl, they still put me a boyish name. When my father was alive he always wanted to go to Tyndall Quantic Soren high school, but to the common people it was known as an elite school, but in reality, it is a school for those who are more than simple humans. My mother told me to fulfill his last wish and go to that school, but I am not that excited about it. Well, whatever. This time things seem more complicated than before, and I have no idea how long this time will last.
