《Ranker's Return》Chapter 633

Hyeonu and Reina arrived near Tendmul and chose to hide the rhinoceros demonic creature in the forest. Then they continued their journey on foot. The rhinoceros demonic creature was too conspicuous after all.
“We just have to go near the castle you see over there.”
Hyeonu pointed to the distant walls of Tendmul.
“Do we need to get so close?” Reina wondered as she saw the demons and demonic creatures crowded near the city walls. It was really packed. She couldn’t even think about hunting.
“We have to approach until the quest notification window pops up.”
Hyeonu peeked at his unchanged quest window and shrugged at Reina.
‘Who is the noble that will replace the earl?’
The former master of Tendmul was Earl Kalea, who was killed by Hyeonu. Since he died, someone would’ve filled the position.
‘Damanos usually would’ve plugged in someone, but...’
Damanos was dead. He was violently beaten to death by the emperor. Of course, there was quite a long time between the deaths of Earl Kalea and Damanos. As such, there would be little chance that there were no nobles in Tendmul.
‘What if there is a noble?’
He wasn’t scared unless it was a demon king or a duke. Additionally, Hyeonu wasn’t alone. Reina was a good helper.
‘She could be a weakness, but...’
However, he didn’t think so. When Tang-E and Reina cooperated, Hyeonu could go on a rampage more comfortably than before.
Hyeonu, who was moving quietly, turned toward Reina.
“In any case... I think we’ll have a tough battle, Reina.”
Reina nodded when she heard Hyeonu’s words.
“I’m fine. I have magic power recovery potions.”
Reina hid that she was sweating and smiled. There were too many demons and demonic creatures in front of her to think it was okay.
‘There is still Hyeonu...’
Reina knew that Hyeonu wasn’t a reckless man. He had the confidence to start a fight and the confidence to survive.
“Tang-E, support me with buffs. Moderately save your magic power,” Hyeonu ordered Tang-E.
Tang-E’s magic power was important. His magic was essential when fleeing. There would be no trouble fleeing if he cast powerful magic as they fled. There would be no demons or demonic creatures that were able to catch the Hyeonu who was fleeing through Tang-E’s magic.
“Understood, Master dude. Have strength.”
Tang-E shook his two paws. No concern could be found on his face at all. Tang-E didn’t think that Hyeonu would be beaten by the demon and demonic creatures in front of him.
‘Master dude is a monster.’
Hyeonu was a predator. He didn’t have to worry about Hyeonu, but the poor demons and demonic creatures about to be eaten by a predator.

“Poor things... they are going to meet such a monster.”
No one heard Tang-E’s murmur. Reina and Hyeonu were already running toward Tendmul with Tang-E. Tang-E erased his feelings of compassion and cast buffs on Reina in an expressionless manner.

“Don’t overdo it. If it is dangerous, come to my side or run away with Tang-E. Then Tang-E or I will take care of it,” Hyeonu finally instructed Reina before the battle began.
“I understand. Additionally, thank you.”
Reina was thankful to Hyeonu for continuing to care about her. As this concern accumulated and accumulated, she was convinced that it would one day take the form she wanted.
‘None of the demons feel like nobles... it is over with intermediate demonic creatures.’
Hyeonu quickly grasped the level of the demons and demonic creatures in front of him. There were always variables, no matter how strong Hyeonu was. Such variables needed to be identified and blocked in advance for safe hunting.
‘Reina won’t be in too much danger.’
There were no risk factors. If so, all that remained was hunting. Purple pure energies appeared along the trajectory of the Mysterious Sky Sword. The pure energies rushed toward the demonic creatures near the city walls. The pure energies were ruthless. The demonic creatures died from the pure energies without even knowing what happened.
“Hide!”
“Run away!”
“A demon noble is attacking!”
The demons shouted loudly. They misunderstood Hyeonu’s attack as being carried out by another demon king’s noble. It was a natural thing. Who would dare to think that a human would appear in Tendmul?
Meanwhile, Hyeonu and Reina appeared. The demonic creatures cocked their heads when they saw Hyeonu with his majestic presence. It was only after discovering Reina standing next to him that they realized they were two human beings.
“Humans!”
“Humans are breaking in!”
“Humans!!!”
Hyeonu swung the Mysterious Sky Sword again at the shouting demons. Purple pure energies poured out again from the Mysterious Sky Sword. The pure energies were beautiful, like a meteor shower in the night sky. However, they were deadly. The pure energies pierced the bodies of dozens of demonic creatures. At the same time, they erased a similar number of demons.
This wasn’t the end. Soon, the flowers of cold ice fired by Reina flew near the walls. The ice flowers rapidly rotated. There came a moment when the flowers rotated to the point they couldn’t be seen properly. Just then, the ice flowers exploded. Numerous petals scattered in all directions.
“Kuaaaaah!”
Screams erupted from the mouths of the demons swept away by the fragments of ice flowers. Reina’s attack wasn’t strong enough to kill the demons in one go. Still, the extent of the wounds was sufficient. The demons struck by the fragments collapsed and blood poured from all over their body.

Hyeonu finished off the demons that Reina knocked down. He swung the Mysterious Sky Sword and lightly cut their necks. The area in front of Hyeonu and Reina literally became a bloodbath. Hyeonu and Reina ignored the blood and walked toward the city walls.
“You still haven’t received the quest notification?”
“It seems like I have to go inside the city?”
Hyeonu shook his head at the quest window, which showed no change despite being close to the city walls.
“I’ll take the lead.”
Hyeonu left these words and ran toward the wall. Reina quickly followed behind Hyeonu. Just then, the demons flocked out of the city walls.
“How did you humans get here?” one of the demons lining the city walls asked Hyeonu.
“I lost my way. I want to take a break, so open the gates,” Hyeonu spoke some nonsense. It was so ridiculous that Reina burst out laughing from where she stood behind him.
“Don’t lie! Do you think I’m an idiot?”
At Reina’s response, the demon realized that Hyeonu was making fun of him. However, Hyeonu was several times more brazen than the demon thought.
“What grounds do you have to say I’m lying? You didn’t mean to listen to me from the beginning. Then why did you ask me? Did you want to just fight?” Hyeonu repeatedly asked and answered himself. Then he eventually gave the answer.
Hyeonu lightly waved the Mysterious Sky Sword at the city walls. A solid purple line was drawn over the heads of the demons. In an instant, pure energy was created and fired.
“Decide quickly. Do you want to open the gate or fight?” Hyeonu asked as he placed the Mysterious Sky Sword back in his sheath.
“Will this work?” Reina approached Hyeonu’s back and asked him.
‘Is this something that will work?’
She thought Hyeonu’s action was very reckless. It was a problem that could change the atmosphere that was going on the right track.
“Don’t worry. Just open it or we will fight. In any case, I won’t lose if we fight.”
Hyeonu noticed that the demon who had spoken to him was a noble. It wasn’t a baron or a viscount, but an earl.
‘He is clearly the successor of Earl Kalea.’
Hyeonu had quite a bit of experience dealing with demon earls. It was unlikely that Hyeonu’s speculation was wrong.
“The demon on the wall looks pretty powerful... is it okay?” Reina asked in a worried tone.
“It’s fine. I can kill an earl on my own.”
Hyeonu shook his head. Those who could block him were dukes or demon kings, not earls.
“I will ask you a final time. Do you want to open the gate or fight? Personally, I would recommend keeping your pride as a demon. If you don’t want to die like Earl Kalea...”
Hyeonu gently scratched at the heart of the demon. At the end, he mentioned the dead Earl Kalea.
“Earl Kalea? You! You aren’t an ordinary human.”
The expression of the demon changed rapidly. Earl Kalea was a name that humans couldn’t know. How did a human male know the name of a noble? There was no exchange between the two.
“I know you have rejected my offer.”
Hyeonu abandoned the idea of continuing the conversation with the demon. At this point, it was time to act tactfully, but the demon was too dumb. He didn’t know that life was precious and he didn’t have the ability to identify the opponent in front of him.
Dozens of huge pure energies flew toward the city walls. Each of the pure energies was enormous in size. Even the smallest one was at least 10 meters long.
The city walls collapsed. All the demons on the wall exuded magic power to block the pure energies flying toward them. However, the pure energy wasn’t something that could be blocked. The purple pure energy directly broke the magic power of the demons and moved forward.
There was a sound like balloons bursting from everywhere. It wasn’t balloons popping, but the bodies of demons. They were so damaged that it was hard to see their proper shape.
Hyeonu headed toward the wall with the Mysterious Sky Sword resting on his shoulder.
[Demon noble killed 18/???]
‘Were there two?’
Hyeonu’s eyes shone at the message that appeared before him. It was an unexpected gain. Hyeonu thought there was only one demon noble present. However, there were two new earls.
It happened at this moment...
A dark sphere of magic power shot out from the collapsed wall.
‘Huh?’
The dark sphere quickly approached Hyeonu. Hyeonu couldn’t react at all as he hadn’t expected it. The black sphere continued to approach Hyeonu. It seemed like it would reach him in no time. However, the black sphere couldn’t reach Hyeonu. Just before it reached Hyeonu, a blue flower appeared from somewhere and blocked the black sphere.
Hyeonu turned his head in the direction that the flower came from.
‘Reina?’
In the place where Hyeonu’s gaze was directed, Reina was staring at Hyeonu with her sword outstretched. Reina lightly winked when she made eye contact with Hyeonu. Hyeonu smiled at Reina before swinging the Mysterious Sky Sword toward the rubble of the collapsed city wall.

The Dungeon Calls for a Sage
Archimedes was the ego behind one of the most powerful dungeons ever created. He grew and developed his halls, filling them with powerful monsters and beasts, over the course of thousands of years. He was a grand structure of ten thousand floors which even heroes had failed to defeat. However, an Evil God had come from another world, calling himself the Demon King, and a party of heroes were sent to do battle with it. Through their victory, they obtained enough strength to breeze through Archimedes' dungeon like it was nothing. Forseeing the end of his life, and realizing how pointless his pursuit of power had been, Archimedes destroyed himself, taking the heroes down with him. Still, Archimedes felt despair that he had lived a worthless life as something as pitiful and futile as a dungeon. Sensing his regret and potential, the voice of the world presented Archimedes with the chance to start anew and live a more meaningful life. Thrilled and hopeful for the first time in eons, Archimedes accepted the offer, only to be reborn again as a dungeon core with not a single room or monster to his name. Just what was the meaning of this?! Archimedes couldn't figure out what the voice of the world was thinking. Somehow, he would have to draw a sage into his dungeon to figure it out for him. _______________________ DCS is now a member of the WriTEr's Pledge, which means I have sworn to see it through to a satisfying end.
