I Did Many Dangerous Things After Knowing When I Would Die Chapter 15

Huh?
Not only had John's words stunned the expedition members and the audience in the livestream, it also stunned Blake!
'Holy sh*t!
'What the hell?
'Dig up the tomb?
'Are you that desperate to die?
'The owner of the tomb is struggling to escape, and you want to dig it up?
'Did you hit your head?
'Or is it just filled with trash?'
Blake was in utter disbelief.
He didn't know how John had come to the conclusion that there was treasure buried under the tomb.
'Well, I can't stop you if you're this desperate to die…'
Blake thought to himself as he shook his head in defeat.
He decided not to say anything more, worried that it would mislead the miserable man.
He got up before walking away to the side of the tomb.
His mission tonight was simply to stay in this cemetery for one night, not to play ghostbuster.
He didn't want to be involved in work like this that guaranteed his death.
His intention from the start had been to get rid of as much unnecessary trouble as possible.
Little did he know that his actions would lead John to interpret it as a sign of defeat and surrender!
John snorted mockingly. Once again, he was cocky of his intelligence and power.
The other members of the expedition team surrounded him and stared at John, puzzled, as they started throwing questions at him.
John, on the other hand, continued to make up lies according to his previous fabricated story.
He told everyone that the cross on his neck had sensed that the ghostly Qi in the cemetery had weakened. There was spiritual energy overflowing from the bottom of the grave. This was a sign of a numinous treasure residing below!
It was very likely that a rare treasure from thousands of years ago had been buried under this ancient tomb.
What a temptation from the word 'treasure'! The members' eyes lit up with hunger as greed started to overwhelm their minds.
Everyone who came along to explore had already initially hoped to find precious valuables during the expedition.

To be fair, who would go on expeditions without expecting to find any?
Having crossed paths with historical places that spanned a 700-year-old history before, it was indubious that John would be very knowledgeable about ancient cultural relics.
His words should be true!
Therefore, the members of the expedition team did not hold back. They threw their luggage on the ground and started to dig the grave according to the direction John had pointed at.
At the sight of their sudden change of plans, the viewers who had been planning to leave the livestream became excited yet again!
"Holy sh*t!"
"It's okay to dig up a grave?"
"There were ancient artifacts hidden under the grave?"
"Could it be true?"
"But wasn't the person buried in this grave someone from this village?"
"Could it be that the owner of this grave was someone else?"
All sorts of speculations arose in the comments section, their imagination running wild.
Some netizens even deduced from their research that this tomb most likely belonged to the leader of a peasant uprising that failed hundreds of years ago.
In his tomb, there would be thousands of precious artifacts that had been laid to rest along with him.
Although this speculation was absurd, it was certainly gimmicky.
As these rumors became widespread, the number of people in the livestream shot up, exceeding the number of 600000 viewers!
It was John's first time experiencing such staggering numbers on a livestream.
He felt his heart surging with excitement, no longer dominated with the fear of the ghostly qi.
Feeling a surge of energy, he immediately took out a shovel he had brought along with him before jumping into the tomb, and started digging.
As they dug, the entire area was completely dark. The moonlight shone on the cemetery, a cold and misty luminescence.
There were a few sporadic animal barks echoing through the forest from time to time.
Coupled with the sound of John cramming his shovel into the ground and heaving soil up, the entire scene would send chills through anyone's body.

However, it was this kind of scene that fully represented the word 'exploration'.
Many viewers instantly became fans of John again.
Some fans even said that this time, John had not shared the blessing of the cross with Blake. It would now be difficult for ghosts and evil to get close to him, and he would definitely be safe.
Many others thought so as well.
The hallucination incident seemed to be forgotten, left behind in the past.
Just as everyone was concentrating on digging, Blake watched on attentively in the distance. He opened his eyes and the Yin-Yang spiritual qi swirled in his eyes.
He noticed that the ghostly qi in the graveyard looming around John was now getting stronger.
In the half-dug graveyard, waves of black ghostly qi poured out along the area.
However, Blake was the only one able to see this.
Suddenly, he could feel his spiritual power fluctuating.
This indicated that the ghostly qi was deliberately releasing its power, trying to repeat the previous incident again.
However, because of the Awakening Pill, Blake's spiritual power had increased by more than five times.
The ghostly qi could not confuse him.
However, he was the only one who had the Awakening Pill. The others were not so lucky.
John, who had been in the middle of digging the grave, froze.
Then, he looked at the shovel in his hand, trembling...
"Corpse worms!"
"They're back again!"
He shrieked as his lips quivered, and his hands began to shiver uncontrollably.
The others could also see the densely-packed swarm of worms crawling out of the ground rapidly.
Everyone was struck with terror.
At this point, images of the hallucinations from before surfaced in their minds one by one.
Everyone collectively realized–these were illusions!
'It's all an illusion!'
'It's all fake!'
Everyone thought confidently.
Then, to be sure, John took the lead and grabbed a bunch of corpse worms. He stuffed them into his mouth before he started chewing.
As he chewed, he said to everyone,
"It's all fake! Everyone, don't panic!"
"This is all just an illusion!"
"As long as we overcome the fear in our hearts, we will be able to break free from the illusion!"
John's tone was firm as he spoke hastily.
The others were instantly influenced. They followed suit, grabbing handfuls of corpse worms and stuffing them into their mouths, and started chewing.
Everyone then looked at each other, their eyes filled with relief as they smiled happily.
However, when they turned to look at the livestream, they were stunned.
They saw that the livestream was brimming with comments, applauding them for their bravery.
"F*ck! As expected of them. How are they so daring? They devoured such big bugs just like that?"
"Wait... What illusion? I don't get it! How can such big insects be an illusion? Could it be that I'm also affected by it?"
"I can't believe it... Are they animals? How can such disgusting things be eaten? If it were me, I would have vomited..."
"This show is so awesome! Each and every one of them is like a god! How are they able to gobble up the bugs in the graveyard? F*ck, aren't they afraid of turning into zombies?"
Countless comments flooded in. As they watched the expedition members devour the bugs, the viewers had been thrown into a frenzy.
All of a sudden, the members who had been munching on the corpse worms paused and hesitatingly stared at their hands. They shook uncontrollably, and the corpse worms fell to the ground.
Gulp...
Upon realizing what they had done, they were mortified, and started gagging. They immediately fell on their knees and started vomiting nastily!
...
Blake, who had opened his Yin-Yang Eye and was aware the entire time, also had a fright.
"It's not an illusion...
"It's real...
"The corpse worms this time... are all real!"

Return of Chaos
For the longest time, it was thought that the citizens of Earth were the only denizens of the galaxy incapable of developing superhuman abilities — but recent events have flipped that assumption on its head. Between Austin Travis, Mote Emerson, Pierce Bradley, and their friends, Earth is now host to 12 Chaotics… as well as a myriad of mysteries surrounding them. From a new nemesis in the form of a clone, to connections to ancient technology from a long-lost civilization, to the ability to summon powerful legendary weapons, these 12 Chaotics have unknowingly become entangled in something larger than any of them have ever imagined. As if in response to these discoveries, the sinister machinations of galactic evil are churning. The metallic infection, a calamitous nanotechnology “disease” thought to have been vanquished 20 years ago, is slowly returning — and alongside it, a number of conflicts thought to be long past. While they only seek to better grasp their own abilities, Earth’s Chaotics will soon find themselves in the crossfire of returning threats and old heroes. These superpowered Earthians may not have chosen this path through life, but it will still be up to them to determine if history remembers them — to determine if history remembers the saga of the Keys. Return of Chaos is a direct sequel to Chosen Chaos, which begins the Key Saga novel series. Be sure to read Chosen Chaos first, to understand the plot and the characters thus far! Additionally, the Key Saga as a whole takes place 20 years after Rise. You will not need to read Rise to understand the events of Return of Chaos, however the latter will spoil many of the events that occurred in Rise, due to the simple chronology of taking place later in the timeline.
