The Greatest Beast Trainer: Building A Nation On The Back Of A Dragon Chapter 20

Night fell quietly.
Solomon looked at the sky and started to prepare dinner for the day.
After all, only after eating would he have the strength to work.
"Come over and eat."
Solomon saw Nicole playing with the water beside the fountain as soon as he arrived.
The girl was inquisitive about the feeling of freshness.
"Alright, I'll be right there."
Nicole did not turn her head back. She was still playing with the water.
"Solomon, why don't you play with the water from the fountain?"
Nicole asked curiously.
"I used a little trick.
"Hurry up and change your clothes. Don't catch a cold and come over to eat. After you finish eating, it's time to move out."
Solomon looked at Nicole, who was wet all over. In addition, the wind tonight was indeed a little strong. If she wore wet clothes out, she would definitely catch a cold.
Nicole nodded and ran into her room to change her clothes.
In less than two minutes, she changed into a clean set of clothes.
The two of them quickly finished dividing up the pot of porridge.
"Let's go. It's almost time to go to the camp."
Solomon packed his things and brought Nicole to the camp.
As for why he did not let the Little Fire Dragon go with him, he was so big, and his entire body was red. Also, he was too eye-catching in the past.
With the help of the moonlight, no one dared to get close.
Ten minutes passed.
Solomon and Nicole arrived at the camp.
Behind them was a snake. It was one of Solomon's domesticated animals, the Rainbow Snake.
Because of the geographical location of the camp, the moonlight could not shine down.
Solomon took out two torches from his backpack and lit them up.
He kept one for himself and one for Nicole.
"Go and pick up some wood from the side. The smaller ones, you don't have to pick up too much."

Solomon said to Nicole.
Nicole nodded. She originally wanted Solomon to go with her, but she swallowed her words as soon as they reached her mouth. She did not want to show any timidity in front of Solomon.
Solomon watched Nicole's back as she left. Nicole's hand that was holding the torch was trembling slightly.
After all, girls were afraid of the dark, even though they usually acted like they were not afraid of anything.
"I thought you were brave."
Solomon muttered as he watched Nicole's voice disappear into the night.
He was not worried about Nicole's safety. He had already let the Rainbow Snake patrol the area. It could be said that it was very safe. This was also why Solomon dared to let Nicole pick up things alone.
Nicole held the torch alone. A gust of wind blew past her back, scaring Nicole so much that she stood on the spot.
"I'm not afraid!"
Nicole muttered a few words.
After gathering her courage, Nicole continued to walk forward.
Nicole took out the small sack that Solomon had given her, picked up the small wood on the ground and put it in.
In a short while, a sack bulged up. It could no longer hold anything.
Nicole clapped her hands and stood up from the ground. She held three bigger pieces of wood in her arms and was about to leave.
Suddenly, she heard a sound.
Hiss! Hiss! Hiss!
Nicole was frightened by the sudden snake cry. She stood there in a daze, holding the torch and not daring to move. Her whole body was trembling.
The snake cry was getting closer and closer. Through the light emitted by the torch, Nicole saw a huge snake head. Its mouth was constantly spitting out a red tongue.
"Snake?"
Nicole saw the scales on the back of the huge snake and was stunned.
When the snake heard Nicole's words, it did not answer. Instead, it used its tail to wrap Nicole up and placed her on its back.

Just like that, it slowly slithered toward Solomon's position.
Naturally, it was Solomon who gave the order to the snake. Otherwise, it would be too lazy to come. Who would not want to relax?
In the end, Solomon was still a little worried about Nicole's safety. If she got lost, it would not be fun.
Five minutes passed.
Nicole also returned to Solomon's side.
"Solomon, is this enough?"
Solomon looked at the scattered wood on the ground and nodded.
This was enough. He only needed to create an appearance that he had just left. He did not need too much wood.
Thinking of this, Solomon took action.
He took out the small dagger at his waist and cut the wood into pieces. This would help the wood burn faster.
After a while, Solomon raised the fire.
Then, Solomon opened all the doors of all the residences in the camp.
This was also to create a phenomenon of leaving in a hurry.
Solomon's purpose was to confuse the spies sent by the Jack bandits who were coming tomorrow.
"Nicole, do you still remember which direction the people in the camp left in?"
Solomon asked Nicole.
Naturally, he would not harm the people in the camp.
Nicole pointed in the direction and said, "They left from the east and went to a camp over there."
Solomon heard Nicole's words and walked towards the east. Sure enough, he saw rows of footprints.
Solomon used his feet to smooth out these footprints.
Then he ran to a different place and stepped on many footprints of different sizes. One person was not enough, so Solomon called Nicole along.
The footprints only stopped when they were 100 meters away from the camp.
"Solomon, you're so powerful!"
Nicole said.
Although she did not know what this meant, she felt that it was very powerful.
"The preparatory work for the early stage is done. Now I just want to see the interior of your house."
Solomon said to Nicole.
Because the people in the camp had left for two days, many of the houses had been dilapidated and contained cobwebs.
If the people from the Jack bandits saw this, everything that they had just done would be in vain.
"You clean up the ones on the left, I'll go to the ones on the right. Remember to make things look new."
After saying that, the two of them split up and started to move.
Nicole followed Solomon's instructions. As she did not have any tools, she directly wiped her clothes.
Solomon did the same. He removed all the spiderwebs in the corner.
The spider on the spiderweb was still sleeping. Solomon stabbed it to death with a dagger.
Solomon went to the leader's house. The leader's body had not been touched. He was still lying on the chair in his last position. There was a fatal wound on his chest.
Solomon did not show any mercy as he looked at the body of the camp leader.
This kind of person deserved to die. It would not be an exaggeration to say that he would die ten thousand times over.
Solomon threw some combustible materials onto the body. Then, he sprinkled some oil on it and started a fire.
Ten minutes later, the body of the camp leader disappeared.
Solomon looked at the sky and felt that it was about time.
"Let's go home."
After saying that, the two of them walked toward the Little Fire Dragon.

Beta Test
I'm sure I'm in for some colorful criticism, But if even a few people enjoy this, I'd be happy. As of right now the story is set in Delaware around 2005'ish'. A young man from the streets, aquires a beta test invitation in an unorthodox way. The plan is to have a comical adventure in an experimental virtual reality game. I can easily transition it to a full story if its well received. If not I hope atleast one person kinda likes it. P.s. This is a work of fiction, with made up characters. Any likeness is coincidence.

The Eternal Vigil
The year is 2220, a time when governments and nation-states are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Instead, all prominent parts of human society are now organizing around the commands of three great Artificial Intelligences, owned and operated by the world's largest corporation. World peace has been achieved, and the very word 'politics' has disappeared from people's lips. Religion has largely disappeared, replaced in some parts by worshipping of the great AIs, but mostly substituted by a devotion to material goods and faith in the market. There is now a general consensus that the best form of government has been found. No, it is not democracy, nor is it autocracy or oligarchy. Instead, it is technocracy - rule by the learned, the intelligent, and the skilled. And who are more learned, intelligent, and skilled than the great AIs? Exactly, no one. The AIs will correct some market failures once in a while, but shall otherwise let the market be free. After all, the freer the market, the freer the people. Some may question how society advanced to this stage, but that is all they will do - question. Because they will not find answers, for history is no longer taught anywhere. After all, it is not a practical subject. One cannot get a decently paying job with a history degree. Society doesn't have any time for people to idly ponder about the past. No, this is a practical society of practical people: engineers, doctors, lawyers, developers, managers, bankers, soldiers, and the such. My name is Aiden Scivit and I used to be one such practical man: minding my own business, doing my job, with the faith that hard work will always be rewarded by the market...and that politics and philosophy were things thought of by idly people who leech off society. But this all changed, and here is my story, my history. Just because the stories of ages long past have been erased, does not mean that a brand new beginning cannot be created. The story is already finished but I still need to do some editing so a chapter should be released each day for a month. It is a bit political, as you can probably tell by the introduction, so there is that (it will low-key read like a philosophy dump 10% of the time, so really it's like Atlas Shrugged but liberal and worse lol). Also, I actually wrote this in grade 10 as part of my MYP Personal Project, and recently touched up on it for online publication. Finally, if you find the writing style passable and are interested in my other works, check out the one in the link below. It is a fantasy set in the Ancient Greek world, and is completed and uploaded in full: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/35099/the-oresteia-modernized
