My King System Chapter 80

"We've arrived," said the caravan driver.
Moments later, both Jing and Scar stepped off the vehicle. Scar stepped forward and began to walk towards the entrance gates of the kingdom known as Lyanna. Jing followed behind him however unlike the previous times, Jing had a plan.
"I'll act as his subordinate for now, if he fails to take down the monarch of this kingdom, I'll pretend like I was forced to work under him. On the other hand, if he does manage to defeat the monarch, I'll stay with him for a bit longer then leave to establish my own kingdom. I won't be someone underling any longer," Jing thought to himself.
Right as Scar stepped in front of the horses that were moving the caravan, he was interrupted by the driver.
"Excuse me for the interruption but you haven't paid for your ride all day," the driver said.
"Oh, I thought I already informed you. You can collect your payment from the kingdom's castle we just came from. Just tell them 'Scar' sent you and you should receive your payment," Scar replied.
"But aren't you scared I'll lie and take more money than I'm supposed to?" the driver asked.
"Believe me, you wouldn't want to do that," said Scar as he made a sinister smile towards the driver.
Seeing that Scar wasn't so forgiving, he understood the memo and left to go back to his kingdom.
Scar now put his attention towards Jing.
"How does it feel to be home?" Scar asked.
Jing ignored the question which had just been thrown at him. He knew that Scar was just saying that to get on his nerves. They both knew that Jing despised the kingdom of Lyanna. The only reason he returned was because there was no safer place for him other than beside Scar.

"Let's just get this over with. So, what's the plan?" Jing asked.
"You're awfully rude for someone who is under my protection. Anyway, we just have to find a place to stay for now. I already contacted the people who will dispose of the monarch. He lives at the kingdom's castle right?" Scar asked.
"Yes he does. The king doesn't do much nowadays. He just lives a comfortable life and forces people to give him what he wants. Back to the topic of dealing with him. So you're saying that all we have to do is stand and watch as your 'people' do all the work? That sounds too good to be true," Jing replied.
"Whether you believe me or don't, I don't really care. I'm just here to accomplish my mission which is exactly what I will do," said Scar.
As tensions rose, the both knew they had to stop arguing. Starting a fight right now wouldn't be in the best interest of either of them. While they were intelligent on their own, they still had a lot of pride and arrogance within them which sometimes got in their way of achieving their goals. There were only a few people in the world who had no pride left. Without having that liability, their sense of molarity would be altered and they would eventually commit actions which would be considered pure evil. Such was a path that Yuki undertook.
Both Jing and Scar began to walk through the kingdom of Lyanna. It was sunset already and they needed a place to stay for the night.
"You don't happen to know an inn here by any chance?" Scar asked.
"We can just go to my house for the night. Of course if you're okay with that," Jing proposed.

"Sure I guess," Scar responded.
As they continued to walk towards Jing's house, they were both silent. It was weird since they had been sort of friends for the past few days. Ever since their encounter with Theophill and what he said to them, they haven't been able to go back to how they were before. Getting bored of the silence, Scar tried to make small talk.
"Don't you think this world is weird?" Scar asked.
"How so?" Jing replied.
"I mean look at it? It's basically a video game with real monsters and magic. However unlike a video game, if you die here, you're really dead. We're given amazing powers to defend ourselves but we have to face even more fearsome foes. Not only that but there's so much we don't know about this world. Such as how many dungeons there are and how they work, the full capabilities of an ability and the overall system. How is there a house for each person which is assigned to them? What will happen when there are new children born? I want to learn everything this world has to offer," said Scar.
"I think you're getting a bit ahead of yourself. It hasn't been that long since we arrived in this world. We still have plenty of time to explore whatever we want," said Jing.
They had lost track of time while they were talking. It was now pitch black. The only source of light were the kingdom lamps and the moon.
As they finally arrived at Jing's house, Jing used his keys to open the door and they entered the place before Jing turned around to close the door behind them.
His house was pretty average. There was nothing special about it. There was a couch and a dining table and a bed upstairs. Jing wasn't the materialistic type and only bought what he needed. Most days he would eat out which meant that there wasn't much food in his house.
"I apologize for the bland look of my place," said Jing.
"No, it's fine. We aren't here to play around anyway. All that I needed was a place to stay, which you provided so I'm not complaining," replied Scar.
Jing sighed in relief.
You can go upstairs and sleep on the bed, I'll stay down here and sleep on the couch since you're my guest.
Scar nodded and headed upstairs. Right as his body touched the bed, he passed out. The mental exhaustion from the past few days had taken its toll on Scar's body and it needed time to recover.
The next morning Scar was awoken to the sound of ringing. Scar pulled out his flip phone and put it to his ear to listen to a message.
"Message: we're here."

Warning: Can be quite tearjerking and depressing (or so others say). If you are weak to that and hates that kind of thing, then this story is not for you === Ye Feng lived two lives in one lifetime. First, he basked in the light of Righteousness, becoming an idol of peace and justice. Second, he trod the mired path of the Darkest Path, becoming an object of fear and death. One lifetime, Two Identities, countless experiences, still without purpose. A meaningless existence. An empty husk. In his selfishness of wanting to fill the void in him, he became the catalyst that destroyed Reality. He now controlled everything, ultimate power, uncontestable by none. But he cast it away, to be reborn anew. With a new name and a family, his goal was to understand, his place. To understand how to no longer feel empty. With his family consisting of a Reincarnated Twin Sister and Parents with inscrutable pasts, his desire was not that of grandeur. In this lifetime, he wishes not to hold power, not to gain eternal life, nor control of everything, he only wishes to live, and hopefully look at sunrise with a smile on his face. === Disclaimer: The story focuses on the Main Character’s emotional and personality growth. He is someone who is, obviously OP in some perspectives but almost crippled in others. He is not soft and does not spare anyone because it is “Bad” so expect that there would be genocide and some bloody encounters. I want this instead of just the MC’s search for life and its complication. Where Philosophy and values exist. A story where every action has proper consequences, and not everything can be conquered with a single punch (unless it can be, no need for an unnecessary complication if it can be avoided). Further Notes: This is a story that will gradually increase in word counts and become Chunkier as it progresses and will almost never be below 2000 words, but if the word count will only lengthen the chapter at the expense of a finished tale, it could and would be cut off before 2000 mark), give it a try, it won’t disappoint (I hope). And if by chance that you like it, giving a good Rating and Review will be encouraging to me and possible readers. Schedule: Monday and Friday If you want to read ahead and/or support me to creating this story, you can do it through my Patreon (link below the next chapter button.) This is also a rewrite of this: Peerless Hegemon [OLD] | Royal Road

Sarah Hidalgo knows that it is going to be an adventure when she agrees to go off to the far-off country of Paradis to attend the linguistics program of one of the best international universities. What she doesn't agree to is all the events that happen instead of her education, including but not limited to sky pirate takeovers, invasions by other countries, secret police, and crime bosses. But Sarah will not be alone in these adventures, for the colorful crew of a cargo airship will be along side her. Perhaps finding some form of normality won't be too difficult, if such a thing exist.
8 451The Last Death Mage
Since time immemorial humanity has always feared and shunned what it didn’t understand. Over time this changed a bit to encompass things that didn’t conform to their thoughts and ideals. Due to humanity’s stubbornness with which the enforced their ideals many lives were lost and changed. When humanity first clashed with monsters and the beings that use magic, this trait caused many bloody fights. Over time the fights escalated into battles and full on war on several occasions. Humanity due to their adaptability and persistence won many of these altercations, causing huge casualties to the magical beings. Humanity did not come out unscathed however; many of the empires and civilizations noted in human history fell due to these battles and wars. Eventually over time humanity and the magical beings came to a sort of agreement. Magic and the beings associated with it faded into the background of history, being relegated to myth and legend. Humanity meanwhile advanced leaps and bounds once magic faded, leading to our current level of civilization. Not all magical beings were content with this, thus they did their own actions and killed or fed on humans. This has led to many organizations to be formed concerning this, on both the side of humanity and the side of magical beings. They regulate and control the use of magic as well as protect humanity from the darker things that are now not but myth to them, but there is a reason humanity instinctually fears the dark. Unfortunately there are always those that are unsatisfied by the status quo, and those that are prejudiced against things that are different. This is a story of a young man who wanted nothing more than to be normal. Unfortunately Fate and the world he lives in do not easily allow that this, thus his life changed, not for the better. Everyone has heard of or read stories about monsters and legends, heroes and villains, this is one such story. Hi, this is my second attempt at a story here, the first was before the major overhaul happened and i lost everything related to that story due to PC troubles. I hope you enjoy this if you dont please leave some constructive criticism in the comments. An Editor and the like will be needed, but I will edit as problems are pointed out and as i proof read. This story will have no set schedule, unless of course I decide to type up a bunch in succession then i will note that in a chapter beforehand. ADDED NOTE: most sexual content will be in Interludes or sub chapters with a .5 attached. Profanity and gore however shall be plenty in the actual story, though the descriptives for the gore may be added later. (For example, in the prologue that gave a hint at what happened to the MC, will be enhanced so that the gore invokes more descriptive/complete mental pictures, though it may wait.) ~Tyroth Gideon
