Seeing the sincere look in Serena's eyes, Fike lowered his weapon.
"You can surrender now," Fike said calmly.
"I surrender!"
Serena yelled aloud.
Hearing her admit defeat, the entire stadium erupted into a roar.
"Fike is too strong! Isn't this a guaranteed final then?"
"That's right, Fike's victory in this match was too easy! It was a completely one-sided battle!"
"From the looks of it, it seems like Rowan won't be a match for him either!"
The referee announced the results.
"This match has been won by the Spell School's very own Fike!
"Fike is now the first to obtain two points, reaching match point for the finals!"
It was unknown if his next opponent would be Rowan or Kerg.
As Fike walked off the arena, he saw that the next match would be pitting Rowan against Rooney.
Rooney had no way of defending himself against Rowan at all.
Rowan was still exactly as strong as before. His performance was quite stable, and he didn't seem to wear down easily.
In the end, the match was decided after only a few minutes. Rooney had also been completely beaten, just as Kerg had been.
"This match goes to Rowan from the Melee School!"
"With that, Rowan is now the second contestant to enter match point!"
Rowan hopped off the arena. At the same time, his gaze landed on Fike as he shot him another provocative gesture.
"Next up, Fike from the Spell School against Kerg from the Summoning School!"
Fike responded to the call and went down into the arena.
However, Kerg didn't follow suit. Instead, he yelled directly.
"I don't want to compete anymore! I'll just admit defeat!"
Hearing Kerg's words, the students cast strange looks at him.
"What's this Kerg doing? Why has he surrendered twice in a row?"

"What do you know? This is called wisdom, okay? Why would you still go in when you know you can't win?"
"Coward's behavior! Don't give him an excuse, okay?"
Hearing the unfriendly judgements of the students in the stands, Kerg could only smile helplessly.
Fike remained standing in the arena, awaiting the referee's judgment.
"In that case, due to competitor Kerg's immediate surrender, Fike will be the first contender to enter the finals today!
"Let's give him a warm round of applause!"
After hearing the referee's words, Fike calmly walked back out of the arena.
The following matches were not important to him anymore. Nevertheless, he still wanted to see what would happen next.
The next match was scheduled to be Rowan going against Serena.
Rowan effortlessly crushed her with ease.
By the end of their match, the two that would face off in the finals had been decided, which was Rowan and Fike.
Rowan walked over to Fike's side immediately after his duel with Serena without looking back.
"Hey, kid. I'll make you suffer tomorrow! I hope you're prepared for your easy life to come to an end!"
Fike ignored him and simply stared back coldly.
Seeing that he wasn't going to entertain him, Rowan tactfully walked away.
In the following matches, Serena managed to defeat both Rooney and Kerg, claiming herself the third position in the freshmen trial.
"Then with that, today's matches for the freshmen trial are officially over!
"Tomorrow, we will decide the final winner!
"Stay tuned for the appearance of some esteemed guests!
"Same time, same place! See you all again tomorrow!"
...
The first rays of the morning sun reflected brightly off Fike's face.
Fike gradually opened his drowsy eyes.
The day of the finals had finally arrived.
Surprisingly, there was no sign of Sertia in the room today.

"That's rare..."
Fike muttered lightly.
After quickly washing up, Fike headed downstairs.
There, he found Sertia leaning against a wall, waiting for him.
The two walked over to the trial arena together in anticipation for the last match.
Upon their arrival, they found that the arena had already been arranged into a much more proper and presentable manner. Seeing Fike, a relevant staff member led him backstage to a designated preparation area.
Fike saw Rowan there already, looking as if he had been there for quite a while.
Rowan looked at Fike and smiled as he said to him.
"You're so late? Could it be that you couldn't wake up again?"
Fike was still as quiet as ever facing Rowan's harassments, not bothering to pay him any mind.
After a while, the host gave instructions for Fike and Rowan to prepare to enter the arena.
"Dear guests! Dear teachers and students!
"Welcome to the finals of the Yogmo Academy's freshmen trial!
"Today, we are also honored to have invited a number of celebrities from all walks of life from the Royal City of Romon!"
"First, let us welcome the owner of Romon Restaurant..."
In the arena, a middle-aged man dressed in luxurious clothes took the stage, giving a long-winded speech. This was the owner of Romon Restaurant.
The verbose address finally came to an end some time later.
The host then continued on.
"Next, the host of the Romon Auction, Miss Lan Xi!"
Fike, who was still backstage, was struck with a bad premonition upon hearing Lan Xi's name.
The male students in the stands cheered happily when they saw the beautiful lady.
"Is this Miss Lan Xi from the Romon Auction? She's stunning!"
"I'd bet there aren't many in the entirety of the empire who could compare to Miss Lan Xi's looks!"
"If I could marry Miss Lan Xi, I'd die without regrets!"
Savoring the cheers from the boys in the stands, Lan Xi smiled confidently as she introduced herself.
"Hello, everyone! I am Lan Xi, the host of the Romon Auction!
"I came here today to say one thing, in addition to promoting the Romon Auction itself."
Lan Xi paused briefly before raising her voice slightly.
"Fike! I know you can hear me!"
The students in the stands were all stunned upon hearing Fike's name brought up once again.
Especially Sertia and Senior Molly, whose faces had instantly darkened.
"You must get first place for me! Do you understand?!"
Fike's heart was in his throat. He had known, and had been terrified, that Lan Xi would definitely say something strange.
He didn't want to become the target of all the boys in Yogmo Academy yet again.
With that, Lan Xi had concluded her address, and the host hastily continued.
"Alright, next! Let's give our warmest welcome to our very own Lord of Romon City!
"Mr. Rokshin!"
A bearded, aged man dressed in a stern black coat walked forward in the middle of the arena.
He had a deep scar on his face, and his solemn expression struck fear into the hearts of the students watching in the stands.
"I am the Lord of Romon City, Rokshin!
"I hope that both contestants in today's finals will display the best of their abilities!
"You both have the same goal of achieving first place! Strive for the final victory!"
Fike noticed that when Rokshin spoke, the typically unruly Rowan actually seemed to tremble a little.

Amongst the forces of good, her very name is a curse, and with good reason. Beyond her own evil, it is said that so long as she lives, the reign of the Godslayer himself will last: the lich king who the terrified masses call the King in Black. While the kingdoms and empires that surround the blighted lands of the undead lands struggle to survive and beat back the tide of evil, the machinations of the Eternal Kingdom's dark court barely contain the bitter struggles for power between the forces that have made it what it is. With one foretold hero brutally snuffed out, another will inevitably arise. For Aleyr, the cycle only further embitters her towards the gods of good and all those who serve them. But the truth is that her downfall might be something much closer to home than their prophecies, those last dregs of mortality beating inside her own chest. With a thoughtless intersection between cruelty and mercy, she begins a chain of events that threatens to tear the Eternal Kingdom and her own loyalties into shreds. After all, many things can be broken, not just prophecies.
