MMORPG: I Can See Hidden Information Chapter 98

"The next match will be between the first place of the Melee School, Rowan, and the third place of the Spell School, Ah Fei!"
The host announced.
Fike was currently standing in front of the lounge. He was interested in this upcoming battle, and was waiting for it to begin.
Ah Fei and Rowan had already taken their starting positions at opposing ends of the arena.
Rowan was the first to speak.
"Hey! Kid over there! Just surrender!"
Hearing these words, Ah Fei's expression turned a little nervous.
"If you don't surrender, no teacher will be able to save you this time from my blade!"
Yet it was obvious he was not swayed by Rowan's somewhat condescending words.
Instead, he replied indifferently.
"Make your move! Use all of your strength!"
With that, the gong sounded.
Ah Fei did not even have time to react before Rowan was already instantly in his face, lifting his huge greatsword and slashing at Ah Fei's shoulder instantaneously.
However, the sword did cut him down.
It was just like the last time he faced Fike.
Rowan rested the flat of the blade on top of Ah Fei's shoulder.
"I'll give you one last chance. Will you surrender?"
Rowan whispered arrogantly.
However, how could Ah Fei be so weak-willed?
He flashed, and blinked out of Rowan's range of attack.
The same violet lightning as before crackled in the sky as a familiar little green dragon emerged.
Instantly, the purple lightning rushed fiercely toward Rowan as the dragon plunged down as well, its jaws widening to reveal its dragon's breath accumulating.
Rowan simply raised his huge sword as he lowered his head and muttered indifferently.
"I, Rowan, hate these people- those who don't know how to appreciate favors- most in my life!"
He raised his head abruptly, and his eyes revealed a trace of ferocity as he roared.
"Then prepare to die in this arena!"

The broad sword in Rowan's hand suddenly seemed to erupt with a wave of restlessness.
Then, it appeared to slowly begin covering itself with a layer of rock, which grew thicker, heavier, and denser.
Soon, the sharp blade was completely covered.
Just as the azure dragon that had plunged down was just about to hit its mark between Rowan's eyes, the youth swung his arm upward, and the greatsword covered in stone sent the dragon flying back at an absurd speed.
Ah Fei spat out blood in response as well.
However, his attack wasn't over. At this moment, the purple lightning in the sky had fallen at blinding speed, almost making contact with its target.
Rowan raised his towering rock sword.
The indigo lightning that was supposed to be powerful enough to pierce through anything in the world was now completely useless as it channeled through the huge rock sword before being absorbed.
Fike watched silently from afar.
He whispered softly.
"Hidden information, what's going on?"
[Name: Rowan]
[Level: 174]
[Equipment: Spirit Rock Blade, Killer Cape]
[Skills: Spiritual Stone, Crumbling Earth, Earth-shattering...]
[Class: Berserker]
[Experience: 1786,020/1699,000]
[Combat Power: 204,920]
[Hidden Information: Spirit Rock Blade, king-tier. Originally created by Gaia, the Lord of the Earth, it can cut through all the land and rivers of the world.]
Fike instantly understood after seeing the hidden message's details.
"I didn't expect that Rowan's greatsword would actually be a king-tier... What's more, it's even a weapon from the primordial era."
Fike mumbled to himself.
Back to the scene in the arena, after all the purple lightning had been dissipated, Rowan finally put down the weapon that he had used to deny the attack.
He sneered.
Then, he smashed the Spirit Rock Blade into the ground.
Suddenly, a huge bulge of rock appeared, popping unnaturally out of the ground before rushing straight toward Ah Fei rapidly.
Ah Fei had still not recovered from the piercing pain from before as the next fierce attack made contact with the ground beneath his feet, sending him flying dozens of meters high before his limp body came crashing back into the ground.

Another mouthful of blood spurted out from his mouth.
Rowan had already flashed to his opponent, and was now directly in front of Ah Fei.
Using the hilt of his weapon, he prodded at the body curled up on the ground.
"Will you surrender? Kid!"
However, even if Ah Fei was a weakling, even if his body was smashed into pieces, Ah Fei would never give up.
Seeing that his opponent seemed to have no intention of surrendering voluntarily, Rowan seemed to have gone insane as he smashed into Ah Fei's body countless times more, causing more mouthfuls of blood to be spat out.
Finally, Rowan turned his sword to reveal the sharp end of the Spirit Rock Blade, preparing to deal the final blow.
Seeing this, the referee finally intervened.
"Stop fighting! Ah Fei has fainted! Rowan wins this match!"
However, the referee's words did not stop Rowan from doing what he was about to do.
"Ahh!"
Ah Fei's heart was pierced, and several mouthfuls of crimson blood gushed out of his lips.
Seeing that Ah Fei had completely gone unconscious, Rowan finally relented.
"How boring!"
He turned to glance at Fike, who was standing in front of the lounge doors, and a fierce, evil smile grew across his face.
He turned around and began to leave.
"I hope the finals will be a little more interesting. Fike, I'll be waiting for you at the finish line!"
Rowan called back calmly.
Chambers had already leapt down from the rostrum, hurriedly running to Ah Fei's side and beginning to treat the severe injuries the student had sustained.
The entire arena was silent.
The spectating students had been terrified by Rowan's merciless display of what looked like revenge.
There were even some girls among them who had been so frightened they covered their eyes with their hands, letting out low whimpers of fear.
"This Rowan is too cruel! Didn't the referee call for a stop? Why was he still attacking?"
"Don't you know? Rowan is the youngest son of Romon's City Lord Rokshin. Of course he'd dare to be arrogant!"
"Oh, no wonder! I don't know if Fike can beat him!"
"I don't think so. Didn't you see that Ah Fei was beaten so badly he didn't even have the strength to fight back? I think Fike will be beaten as well if they were to fight."
Fike didn't take these onlooker's words to heart.
He chose not to watch the rest of the matches. After all, there were only two opponents remaining in the stadium, two people left who had the strength to fight against him.
Fike turned around and left as the battles in the stadium continued.
In the following matches, Irene, who was currently ranked 10th among the Spell School, went against a girl who was ranked 2nd in the Melee School.
After an intense series of back and forth attacks, Irene was eventually unable to withstand the girl's unrelenting offensive onslaught and lost in the end.
The day's competition finally came to an end as the sky darkened.
"Dear teachers and students, the second day of the freshmen trial has come to an end!
"Tomorrow, we will whittle it down to the top ten out of the twenty remaining contenders, and following that, the top five out of the ten!
"It'll be the same time, and the same place. We hope to see you tomorrow!"
The host's voice rang out.
At this moment, Molly and Sertia were both looking for Fike, unaware that he had already taken his leave after the match between Ah Fei and Rowan.

Author's note: This is the first story I'm writting in a coherent manner (I have written a lot of DnD background stories in the past), so bear with me if I make boring or overdescriptive bits: I'll regularly come back to rewrite whichever parts feel unpolished, especially grammatical errors. I would also appreciate any corrections or suggestions.
