What The Luck!? Chapter 225

Asher expertly dodged the first one that was shot towards his shoulder. The second bouncy ball stood no chance against him and was easily swatted toward the targets. Unfortunately, it missed the target but still showed off the skillful reflexes he had been growing.
The next two were fired before he could fall back in to his stance again making him dive top slap the second bouncy ball. This time it ended up miraculously on target. The clicking of the barrels as the level went up again made Asher scramble to get back in to his stance and ready. He knew that things were heating up now and he would need to try harder than before.
The next level fired three of the bouncy balls all in the same direction making him hesitate for a moment. He didn't know if this was lucky or not but he managed to spin and slap them, all at once. The resounding three clicks at once drew everyone's attention. This had not happened to any of them and the sound was odd.
"Oh...this won't be good…" Asher had the feeling that something bad was about to happen when the barrels started to click over and over.
"Did I just hear six clicks? Is he somehow on level six already?" Jane was the first to be able to count the clicks of the barrels and realize that Asher had somehow jumped three levels with the last attack.
"Should we start setting up the funeral for Asher now or later?" Art already knew they were about to witness the end of their friend since no one had gotten to such a tough level yet.
"Is there an off button?" Asher's final plea was met by the game firing two bouncy balls in succession three times. The fact that two of them were aimed at him and the other sets were to opposite sides made it appear that the game was out for his life wherever he had been standing.

The thwack of them hitting Asher in the ribs was enough to make everyone wince in pain. They knew that there would be some impressive bruises there but also knew that Asher had just topped all of their scores.
"I am going again. I want to try and get to level five at least." Louis jumped back up and the rotation continued.
The group continued this way for another two hours before they had all gained their own matching bruises and studied the majority of the flash cards the apps had generated. "I think it is time to head out to rest. I am so done with this evil game!" Sammy had been given four hard shots in the past game and was not the happiest to feel the bruises forming on her arm and shoulder.
"I agree. We have some strength training and moves top practice before we commit to sleeping." Asher was still dead set on their harsh training plan. He knew that their time at camp was coming to an end and he needed to make the best of the final days.
The same staff member had watched them for a little while they practiced in the game and was surprised to see them leaving so many hours later. She had not expected the campers to be so dedicated to training in such a way and made sure that she left a note that the game might deserve its own area for training purposes.
With the group splitting up Jane, Asher, and Art made their way toward the luxury cabin where they had a night of harsh muscle training ahead. They had set themselves up for this and were not going to miss the chance they were given. This was the start of their grand improvement to move forward.

"So, how do we want to do this? Do we eat the vitamin packs then rotate through training? Should we still do our super power training?" Art was the one confused about how the circuit they normally did would work now. They could be wasting time if they sat and focused on their super powers since they wouldn't be training their bodies.
"I think the only one that should work pon their super powers whole we train is you. Your power puts stress on your mind so it could be good to push yourself to the limit again." Jane had this more or less figured out. "Asher and I will add on more studying and strength training."
"I am fine with that. But we need to try and make sure we rest well in between. If we go too far we will still harm ourselves. The vitamin packs can't fix everything. I also want to try and get a bunch of them with pour points before we leave. They will be perfect for future hard training days.'
"That is a good idea. We should use all our points on them to take home. I can't just go to the average grocery store and buy them." If Art had the ability to access his familys' fortune then he would not hesitate to purchase a lifetime supply for him and his friends. However, he knew that he shouldn't abuse money like that even if he did have the access.
"Exactly, so late tonight we should hit the camp store and grab them. After that, we only have one thing left to look forward to." Jane looked at Asher and Art. "The family day should be happening tomorrow, right"
"Oh. yeah. We should be able to see what Cara remembers from her time here. By the way, who do you think will come to see you jane?' Asher had been wondering who from Jane's family would visit her while she was at camp. Art and Asher had already explained theirs but didn't have Jane speak too much about it. They were both wondering who they would end up meeting.
"That's not really a big deal. We can worry about that tomorrow. Let's just get training." Jane forced them in to their training without even answering. This made them wonder just why she would be this worried about it.

Adagio of the Enlightened
The Elders will tell you the stories and lore. Of our ancestors, their deeds, and of the foes of yore. They will praise to you the chariot, and how it flew to the stars. How it stole the sun's light and slew the night’s roar. The Shamans will tell you the tales of their wisdom. Their wars on schism, and the unlettered world of ours before. Perhaps they will sing you the songs of what our clans' ancient customs tore. Poems of how our ancestors took what the discs had offered them, the manna and the mundane, and made it more. The kings will tell you of the follies, the sins, and the anecdotes of all our ancestors' wrongs. They will curse to you their names, the Ender of Fate and the Ruined Song. How they had dug up the hearts of the discs, euchred its relics, and blasphemed its prophecies, with oracles withdrawn. But they will only tell you the legends, recount the myths, and sing the allegories washed ashore. The Elders, the Shamans, and the kings can only retell what the storytellers of their own time had voiced. What they have read in books or heard in the minstrels' songs they adore. They don't know what really happened. They were never there. They can't tell you how our ancestors slew the angels from the sky, and sent them back to where they belonged. How they poisoned our minds, and made our people slothful and feeble, with the reforms they had undergone. But I can.I can tell you how the Ender of Fate severed destiny's strings, weakened them, and weaved them to our feeble flesh and souls.I can tell you how the Ruined song razed the heavens with her blood-stained melody, and reshaped our hell into utopia, with the deaths she deplored.Because I was there. I can tell you the truth, with my virtue strong. ----> Disclaimer: This will be a slow-burn, character-driven, non-harem, slice-of-life web novel with cultivation and kingdom-building elements. The Choice is Not Yours
Author's Note: (As of November 20, 2021) I rewrote all the chapters perhaps more than a year ago, but haven't announced that I did so. Because that kind of announcement would include something along the lines of, "I'm working on the story so expect new chapters!" But the truth is, I lack motivation to do anything. And I would hate myself if I broke a promise. I'm extremely sorry if you have been patiently waiting for uploads. These days, I've been studying, not well, but studying somewhat. I will definitely bring more to show, with regular uploads. If not this story then there's another story I've been writing that's really exciting to me. It's not exactly similar to this story since it has a male lead and he is a baneful asshole with even less morals. I hope you'll like it when it comes to existence. And I'll leave my announcement off with the aforementioned promise. Meet Amber, a tomboyish, unstable, and cheeky lass who likes to keep to herself. According to her, she'll live the rest of her life on auto-pilot mode, awhile holding onto the few things that make her remotely happy. However, she forgot that people never really leave you alone, be it humans or even the Gods. And exactly that happens, ending her monotonous life on such the Gods' whim. But at what cost to her? Will she be able to hold onto the things she holds dear? Or will she fail miserably and lose herself in the process? That's what the Gods want to know. Disclaimer: I do not own the cover photo.Warning: If you are easily triggered, I am not writing this novel for you.
