Hidden Marriage With My Imperfect CEO Chapter 251

Anya just laughed seeing Nico's behavior. She took the opportunity to secretly take the wine bottle in front of Nico.
When her fingertips had just touched the wine bottle, Aiden moved ahead of her and snatched it.
Anya's eyes were glued to the wine, trying to steal it when Aiden wasn't paying attention. Every now and then, her eyes caught Aiden's hand. As long as Aiden didn't put his hand near the wine, her plan would work.
"You're doing pretty well lately. Keep working hard," Aiden pushed the bottle away from Anya.
"Uncle, you praise me?" Nico was really moved and said, "I'm praised!"
Anya's eyes widened as Nico took the wine bottle on the table and poured all of its contents. He finished the bottle of wine!
Anya really wanted that wine!
She had been trying to find a way to get the wine bottle but Aiden continued to block her. And now Nico had finished it all.
Aiden chuckled to see his wife disappointed. He pretended not to know, and ladled the soup into Anya's bowl. "Eat again,"
Tara chuckled watching it all. "Anya, the wine is made by this restaurant. Even though it tastes good and sweet, it actually has a very strong alcohol content. Better to eat soup instead of drinking wine,"
"Do you want it?" Aiden asked, raising his eyebrows.
"I don't want the soup!" Anya said with a frown.
Aiden laughed seeing his wife sulking. "If you like it, we can take it home. But you can only drink one glass per day," said Aiden with a gaze full of warmth towards Anya.
He would always give whatever Anya wanted.
Anya's eyes lit up as she nodded her head. She accepted the soup bowl given by Aiden and ate it heartily.
"Auntie, sometimes you are very smart. But sometimes you can also act like a child," Nico said mockingly.
"At least I'm occasionally still smart. Unlike you, always behaving like a child! Don't disappoint your uncle," Anya answered.

"Auntie, didn't you hear that he just praised me? I did good, he said! Don't worry about me!" Nico said, patting his chest.
"If your work is good, hurry and pay for the food today. Don't forget to pack me a bottle of wine," Anya carelessly replied.
When Aiden heard Anya's words, his smile grew wider. His little wife was getting smarter at talking.
"Uncle earns billions every year, but Auntie actually forced me to pay and helped Uncle save money. Auntie, I need money too! It should be you and uncle to treat a single man like me," Nico muttered irritably.
Anya blinked her eyes repeatedly. What did she just hear?
Aiden's annual income was billions. Not millions, not hundreds of millions, but billions…
"Didn't Aiden only get 60 million every year?" Anya asked.
Nico looked at Aiden and showed an expression of surprise and fear. He was afraid that he might divulge a secret in front of his aunt. "Uncle, did I speak wrong?"
"The place where you live right now is very expensive. A salary of 60 million per month is not enough to live in a house of that size," Tara did not expect Anya to be this innocent.
"Aiden, if you are that rich, why are you telling me to help with electricity and water costs?" Anya complained.
Nico closed his gaping mouth when he heard Anya's words.
"Uncle, I didn't expect you to be so stingy that you asked Aunt to pay for electricity and water," Nico immediately defended Anya.
"As a family member, participating in paying for family expenses will strengthen responsibility within the family," Aiden said casually.
When she heard this excuse, Anya was speechless. Aiden only wanted to involve Anya in their family affairs. Anya didn't know whether she should be upset or touched…
"What Uncle said is true, Auntie. You have to earn money!" Nico said. A second ago, Nico was still defending Anya, but a second later he changed to defending Aiden.

"Nico, who are you really defending? You better pay for this food right away," Tara rolled her eyes at Nico's behavior. It was clear that Nico was a fickle and always went with the flow.
"Tara, keep me company with this wine," at times like this, Nico thought Aiden and Anya needed time to talk together.
Tara understood so she immediately got up and went with Nico.
Only Anya and Aiden were in the room. Anya looked at her husband, "Aiden, do you really make billions every year?"
"Hmm…" Aiden muttered.
Anya didn't know what to answer. She didn't even know how much the billions were. What should she say now?
She looked at Aiden in a daze. "So I married a super rich man, huh?"
Aiden felt that Anya was getting alert. Somehow, the news didn't make Anya happy and instead made her worried.
"Don't you like it?" Aiden asked.
"Finally, I found out why your father told me to sign the contract. It's because you have too much money. I felt a great burden after knowing that you are filthy rich," Anya's face looked pale and her lips trembled a little, "How about we sign the contract?"
"What's the use of the contract? I told you everything mine is also yours," Aiden hugged Anya's waist, pulled her body closer. Then he kissed Anya without prompting, kissing her lips gently.
Anya tried to get away from Aiden, but Aiden's hand that was holding the back of her head was too strong. Her heart was beating so fast every time Aiden kissed her like this.
Aiden's lips felt cold and soft, making all the hairs on her neck stand on end.
"Anya..." her name slipped out of Aiden's lips, in a low voice that was very seductive.
Aiden's warm breath tickled Anya's face, making her amused. A strange sensation penetrated Anya's heart, making her want more.
Right now, there was only Aiden in her eyes… Only Aiden's voice that could be heard…
On the other hand, even though he was kissing his wife, Aiden always paid attention to everything around him.
Aiden heard the sound of footsteps near their door. He immediately let go of Anya and put her back on the chair, right beside him, as if nothing had happened.
He looked calm as usual, while Anya's heart raced like she just ran a marathon.
"Uncle, the food is very expensive. Can't you pay today?" Nico complained irritably.
"Of course the food is expensive. Don't you realize who ate the most earlier?" Anya muttered.
"Auntie! Why is Auntie defending Uncle now? You two husband and wife are the same," Nico frowned at Anya's mockery.
"I have to save a lot for my wife and family in the future. But you, you are still single. You only need to support yourself," Aiden grabbed Anya's hand and raised it to show their relationship in front of Nico, making Nico snort in annoyance.
Why did he have such bad luck today?
He was single, had no partner, was rejected by a girl he liked, had to eat while watching his uncle and aunt being lovey dovey, and still had to pay for all their food…
Tara just laughed seeing Anya and Aiden attack Nico. She put the wine bottle she was carrying on the table. "This is your wine,"
Anya looked at the expensive looking wine on the table with a smile.
Suddenly, Aiden's cell phone rang. He answered the cellphone and then looked at Anya with an unpredictable gaze.
That look made Anya feel uncomfortable. She looked at her husband and asked. "Why are you looking at me like that? What's wrong?"
"I've ordered people to check Raisa's cellphone. The night before the incident at the park, she did not meet Dio. Raisa went to a karaoke place near the lake and didn't leave the place," Aiden said.
"What if Raisa accidentally left her cellphone at the karaoke and went out without bringing it?" Tara guessed.

Author's note: You are reading a first draft, written mostly while drinking cheap whiskey. Expect it to read like hot garbage and I guarantee that it’ll meet your expectations. I’m a storyteller, not a writer - there’s a huge difference between the two professions. IMPORTANT! This story is told in a first-person limited, conversational style, with Emmett occasionally breaking the 4th wall and addressing the reader directly. This means that YOU and Emmett may have absolutely no idea why stuff is happening, because there will be little or no exposition or other POV's. Read the comments for spoilers, ask questions if you want to know something. This work incorporates blended aspects of Xianxia, Wuxia, Super powers, and Western Magic into a post-apocalyptic fantasy adventure. It is none of those things and all those things, mashed together. The MC is Over Powered, but so are many, many others. He just hasn't met them yet. Dear Student, What follows is an adaption of the diary of Emmett Carter before his Ascension. While the decades during and after the Aurora Apocalypse are lost to us, the Ascended himself has allowed us to publish this work so long as we warn the reader that it may not be entirely accurate or present an unbiased viewpoint of the events. One should also note that the Aurora was in flux during that time and some things that were possible in the early days are no longer possible, especially with the advent of the Akashic record. Editors have included footnotes when possible to explain pre-aurora technologies or concepts and how they relate to current magical technologies. The contents of this work may upset readers. If you’ve ever been in a natural disaster, had a house fire, witnessed a murder, lost a loved one to violence, or have a strong opinion on the sanctity of life, please do not read this. It contains dramatic scenes of a world in the throes of an apocalyptic event. There are no rainbows and unicorns, only loss, uncertainty, and death while the survivors struggle to rebuild their lives. Updates Thursdays and Sundays for now. Word count is about 2000 ~ 4000ish per chappie.

The Tears of Kas̆dael
It was just supposed to be a game. A really, really great game, yes - but a game. Instead, Jasper got his heart ripped out by a brooding goddess and awoke to find himself in another world. No weapons, no skills. Naked. Trapped in a world full of ancient horrors, where gods and monsters still roam the earth, Jasper is forced to adapt quickly or die - and he's not ready to die. Good thing he's a mage. This is a high-fantasy novel with light LitRPG elements. It's not super-crunchy, but the system is an important part of the story. There is some light cursing and gore, but this is not a Grimdark novel. There will also be no harem. The current schedule is chapters on M-W-F of around 2000-2500 words, as well as occasional bonus chapters that provide background or insights into side characters. This is my first real attempt at writing a full novel, but the story is based on a world that I've been creating and re-creating since I was a child. I have an extensive "history" and religion, and even a semi-cohesive language system worked out, which will hopefully slowly shine through as the story progresses. I want to avoid having too many info-dumps, so I may from time to time post a bonus lore chapter that will explain some of the background for any who are interested.
