Hidden Marriage With My Imperfect CEO Chapter 31

The next morning, Aiden woke up to the sun's rays peeking through the curtains. He covered his eyes with his arms, trying to get rid of the light that was bothering him. The light was blinding. Even if it was just a little, the light was enough to make his eyes feel uncomfortable.
When would his eyes return to how they used to be? Even though he was not completely blind and could still see vaguely at this time, he wanted his eyesight to be perfect as before. How long did he have to be like this?
He immediately looked away from the window and saw Anya was still fast asleep beside him. The woman was fast asleep while curled up, hugging her own body as if trying to protect herself from the cruelty of the world.
Aiden hoped that someday Anya wouldn't need to be crouched alone like this. Because of her, his hands would give Anya protection. Hold her and guard her from anything that scared her. Hugged her from the night until she woke up the next day.
'One day…'
Those words were ringing in Aiden's mind as he gently stroked Anya's hair.
Aiden let Anya sleep a little longer before he entered the bathroom, getting ready to leave for work. It didn't take long for Aiden to get ready. He wore his work clothes neatly and used gel to straighten his hair. After he came out of the bathroom, he found Anya still curled up in the same position.
He sat on the side of the bed and kissed Anya's forehead gently, saying goodbye before he left for work. He could only do this when Anya was still asleep. If only the woman had woken up, Anya would have screamed in fear seeing what he was doing. Or maybe her face would flush with embarrassment.
Just when Aiden was about to get up, he felt something strange. Anya's body felt a little warm.
'Is that just the feeling? Yesterday Anya looked fine…'

He immediately took the medicine box available in his nightstand drawer and looked for the digital thermometer so he didn't have to wake Anya to find out the woman's temperature.
'36.9…'
Anya's body temperature was still normal. It seemed, that was just his feeling.
Aiden immediately put the thermometer back in place and left his room. When he got down, he saw Hana already in the kitchen, preparing various kinds of breakfast for them.
"Anya is still sleeping. Don't wake her, let her rest." Aiden said to Hana.
Hana could understand it. Yesterday was a tough day for Anya. Maybe what happened yesterday had made the woman so tired that she woke up late.
However, a slight sense of disappointment rose in her heart. Actually, Hana was looking forward to their breakfast. According to her, their breakfast yesterday was the most enjoyable breakfast. They could sit together, chat and joke like family.
After all this time, she finally saw Aiden opening his heart again. Hana could see that Aiden's cold heart gradually melted upon Anya's warmth. His once cold demeanor slowly turned soft. Although the change was not obvious, Hana's motherly instincts could sense it. This was a good change for Aiden!
But apparently, they had to skip their breakfast today.
Hana was about to leave the dining table and let Aiden have breakfast alone as usual. However, Aiden suddenly called out to her, "Miss Hana and Harris starting today, eat at the dinner table."
Hana was not the only one that felt that their breakfast yesterday was enjoyable. Aiden's heart also felt warm with the presence of these people, the people closest to him. He realized that he was no longer alone. There were many people around him who sincerely loved him, like Hana who considered him his own son.
Hana's eyes filled with tears when she heard Aiden's words. She felt very happy. It was true that Anya's existence was like a small sun for Aiden, the sun that slowly made Aiden's frozen heart start to melt.

...
Anya woke up feeling very uncomfortable. When she opened her eyes, she could see that the sunlight peeking through the window was already very hot. It seemed to her that she woke up late.
Her whole body felt limp. She felt hot and itchy. She was sweating a lot because of her high temperature, making her clothes wet. She wanted to get up to change her clothes, but felt dizzy when she sat up.
Why did she suddenly feel unwell like this? She was fine yesterday.
Then, she thought of the coffee Natali had splashed on her face. Did she accidentally swallow the coffee? Anya tried to remember, but her head felt hot, her brain seemed not working.
'I think so…'
Natali poured the coffee while she was talking to her father. It was possible that she accidentally swallowed the coffee because she was in the middle of a conversation.
She had to take allergy medicine immediately, but her body felt so heavy that she could not get up. Finally, Anya dropped her head back on the pillow, feeling very tired and unable to get up. She closed her eyes and fell back asleep.
...
It was already daytime, but Anya had not yet come out of her room. Hana felt a little worried because Anya had missed breakfast and it was time for lunch, 'Maybe I should wake her up!' Hana decided for Anya's situation.
She knocked on the main room's door. One time, two times, three times ...
No answer.
Hana peeked that the room was still dark, the curtains still covering the windows so that sunlight could not enter the room to illuminate them. She could see Anya's body still lying on the bed, buried under the blanket.
She decided to approach her and tried to wake her up, "Anya, it's time for lunch ..." Hana lowered her voice so that Anya wouldn't be surprised. However, there was no response from Anya.
Her voice alone couldn't wake Anya, so Hana stretched out her hand, wanting to wake her up by shaking her body slowly. She had just put her hand on Anya's shoulder when she could feel Anya's burning temperature.
'Is she sick?'
Hana immediately reached out her hand to hold Anya's forehead. She felt her forehead hot and sweaty.
Anya could feel someone's hand touching her so she immediately opened her eyes. She could vaguely see Hana touching her forehead.
"Mrs. Hana?" She asked.
"Anya, your body is hot. Are you sick?" Hana replied.
"Hmm... My body aches all over." Anya muttered as she closed her eyes once again, unable to bear the dizziness.
Hana immediately looked for a thermometer in the main room medicine box and took Anya's temperature.
'38.5 ...'
She immediately called Aiden to inform Anya's condition.
"Sir, Madame is sick. She's hot…" Hana said anxiously.
Hearing that, Aiden cursed inwardly. His guess was correct this morning, Anya was not feeling well. He shouldn't have gone to the office and just worked from home.
"Mrs. Hana, I'll be home soon. Please call Doctor Tara, tell her to come to the house." Aiden ordered while tidying up his things. Doctor Tara was the doctor of the Atmajaya family.
"Yes sir." Replied Hana. She immediately called Doctor Tara and asked her to come to the house right away.
Meanwhile at the office, Aiden asked Elise to postpone all his meetings for today and invited Harris to come home immediately.
This morning he already felt that Anya's body was a little warm, but he thought it was just his feeling because Anya's body temperature was normal when he checked it.
He shouldn't have gone to work and make sure that Anya was all right. After all, he could do his work from home. However, for some reason he chose to go to the office and left Anya alone at home.
He felt incredibly stupid.
