Hidden Marriage With My Imperfect CEO Chapter 22

The coffee did not only soak Anya's body, her long hair and face were also drenched in it. She was so surprised because Natali suddenly poured the coffee, leaving her speechless. Her body seemed stiff and couldn't move.
Shock, anger and resentment mixed in her heart, 'What was my fault that I deserve to be treated like this?'
She could hear the people around her whispering insults. Even some people did not try to lower their voice so that she could hear their words.
A cheap woman, a seductive woman, a woman who snatched someone else's fiancé…
The words come out of their mouths, trying to humiliate and corner Anya. They considered Anya as a bad woman only because of the news circulating and confession from one party.
She didn't even get a chance to defend herself.
Anya lowered her head, seeing the condition of her clothes at this time. The clothes that Hana chose this morning. The clothes that made her feel cheerful when she left the house. The beautiful clothes were now dirty, covered with coffee stains.
She looked up at her father's face. Deny just stared down at her coldly. Her father didn't do anything. He didn't want to help her. The man was silent when he saw Natali dousing her with coffee and humiliating his own daughter in public.
In fact, she saw a hint of satisfaction in Deny's eyes. One corner of his lips was slightly twitching, emitting a sinister smile as if to say that this was all Anya's fault so she deserved this kind of treatment. She deserved to be humiliated like this.
'Actually, am I really his daughter? Is he really my father?'
What kind of father would allow his daughter to be treated like this?
She saw the people around her. A group of women seemed to be giggling when they saw her soaking wet. Some of them lifted their cellphones, seemingly recording the fight. They considered this incident as a joke and an interesting performance worth internet trending.

Some of the servants looked panicked. They seemed to want to help but also feel scared, so in the end they only whispered to each other. They felt restless while waiting for their manager who had not come.
There was not a single person in this place that Anya could rely on. Right now, she was alone and she had to finish everything by herself.
"Why are you seducing my fiancé? What did I do wrong to you?" Said Natali softly with a sob.
Anya felt like laughing when she heard Natali's words. She saw Natali arriving wearing luxury clothes and branded bags. Her brown hair was beautifully curled up as if she had just come out of a salon. Heavy make-up also adorned her face, making her look even more beautiful.
Why had she never realized that the person she considered to be her own sister was this tricky.
"Your acting is really impressive." She said coldly, staring back at Natali bravely.
She did this to defend herself. However, in the eyes of others, she looked like a criminal who refused to confess and instead blamed others.
Anya's words made the tears streaming down Natali's cheeks even heavier. Natali's acting skills deserved thumbs up. She could attract everyone's sympathy easily and make everyone believe her words as easy as snapping fingers.
"Why are you doing this to me?" She asked while sobbing.
Anya averted her gaze from Natali as if she was fed up with her attitude. She turned to look at her father, "I came to the hotel to meet Natali. She said she would lend me the money I needed for mum's treatment because dad didn't want to lend me the money. Natali spiked my drink, knocked me unconscious and sent me to Aiden's room. That is the reality!" She said firmly. She looked at her father straight in the eye, wanting to show that she was not lying.

However, her father just snorted then looked away, as if he was embarrassed to look at her.
Anya didn't know what else to explain. Whatever she did was pointless. All of her efforts were in vain. Her own father didn't trust her, let alone anyone else. No one would believe her.
"What do you mean? I've been good enough to you. I want to lend you my savings for your mother's treatment. But when you found out that my fiancé is very rich, you just seduced him on purpose and slept with him." She paused, "You hurt my heart on purpose." She said, sobbing. Her eyes were red as tears continued to stream down her face, as if she felt very sad that she had been treated unfairly. "If you really want to deny this, there's no need to scapegoat me. I am the victim! You have done all this to me…"
Anya felt very tired facing Natali's pretense, "You may have set me up and lied to everyone. But do you think Aiden doesn't know that?" She said softly.
Anya's words jolted Natali a little. The mask on her flawless face seemed to show slight cracks, even if it only lasted for a moment.
'How did Aiden find out?' She had erased all CCTV evidence and bribed all witnesses. Aiden wouldn't be able to get any proof that she did all this. After all, the man was blind. He couldn't see the servant who sent Anya to his room. He wouldn't know anything.
Inside, she smiled sarcastically. Anya was just trying to scare her!
Anya could see the doubt in Natali's eyes, even if it only lasted for a few seconds. She decided to keep trying to corner her. She had to pressure Natali so that Natali would admit to her actions. Only Natali could explain all this.
"I heard myself that Aiden's assistant, Harris, said that it was you who sent me to Aiden's hotel room to have him cancel the engagement. You don't want this matchmaking to continue." Said Anya calmly. She gave Natali a cold, blank look as if she was telling the truth.
"Nonsense!" Natali loudly refuted. A hint of panic could be heard in her voice, a sign that she'd just started to fall for Anya's bluff.
"All of this is your fault. If you didn't flirt with my fiancé, how could he cancel the engagement like this? Now, Aiden has left me. You keep blaming all this on me. You also don't want to help your father, you don't want to help the Tedjasukmana Family. What do you really want?" Shouted Natali loudly. She wanted everyone in the room to hear her and think that Anya was a very bad person.
"When my mother is sick, does your family help? Did you lend money and pay for the hospital money? Even dad doesn't care about me at all. Why do I have to help your family now?" Anya was overflowing with emotions that had accumulated in her heart. She no longer cared what other people would think of her. She wanted the two people in front of her to know what she had felt so far.
"How insolent! You dare to accuse me like that?" Deny couldn't hold himself anymore. He got up and raised his hands high, slapping Anya's face hard.
Anya's eyes widened as she looked at her father in disbelief. One of her hands immediately rose to hold her cheek while tears began to pool in her lids. Her cheeks were hot, but the pain in her heart was more intense than the pain on her face…

Path of the Ancients
When humans with the ability to control the fundamental particles of the universe with their minds were first discovered, the age of space travel began in earnest. Relativistic travel faster than the speed of light became possible and humanity moved out into the stars. When it was discovered that these Mages could be turned into effective weapons, humanity turned back to its oldest pastime of war. The Conclave was formed to regulate all Mage’s within the human colonies. While the colonies maintained their independence, the Conclave’s control over access to interstellar travel made them the de facto power amongst humanity. After spending decades working towards his goals alone, he realized he would need the aid of willing allies in his crusade. For the sake of translating his new experiences into a written masterpiece, he will spare nothing, not even his own life - so long as the work is complete. *** Romance tag was previously there, but it starts quite late in the story and I've yet to reach that part. I know how it will happen (more precisely, how I want it to happen), but currently, there are just subtle nuances that can only be left to the reader's very expansive imagination, and I wouldn't call that romance but a
