"Do you know why I didn't take your words to heart despite you reminding me again and again that such a situation might occur?"
Lei Luo forced himself to stand up from the bed and sat down on the chair beside the bed with Morton's help.
"I think you have your reasons."
"That's the bad part." Lei Luo shook his head.
"Everyone has too much confidence in me, including myself. The reason why I have this confidence is because if they were a few days later, there would be a new fleet arriving at the Holy City of Beauty."
"Another new fleet? Where is it?"
Morton's eyes widened, like a gambler who had lost all his money and saw the light of hope.
"According to the original plan, they should have already moved into the Holy City of Beauty in another day. However, after this incident, they had no choice but to change their plans. They will be stationed in a city of Satan's Wings. That city is less than 100 kilometers away from the Cape of Good Hope."
When Lei Luo said this, he paused for a moment before continuing, "There was a person named Katz. He used to be the vice-captain of a pirate gang in the free seas. Later on, he was infected with a strange virus that caused his entire body to deteriorate. Therefore, he retired and became a vagabond who wandered around. Before I left the mountains, I once won a sum of money for him by gambling. This allowed him to have the money to treat this virus. Logically speaking, his virus was extremely complicated, and it would take about two years to cure it. However, he was very lucky. When he went to treat the virus, he found out that he had just invented a special drug to treat the virus. Using the special drug, he only needed a month to recover all his abilities After that, Katz pulled a group of his former underlings who had been neglected from his original pirate gang and began to operate in the Free Sea. After half a year, his pirate gang quickly expanded from a small-scale team to a medium-scale pirate gang. However, after so many years of wandering, Katz himself no longer had high aspirations for a pirate career. When he first came out of retirement and reorganized the pirate gang, his goal was to gather some strength and then help me. When I persuaded the Grizzly Pirates to attack the Holy City of Beauty, Katz contacted me through my email. He asked me if I needed him to join. It was precisely because of his question that I wasn't satisfied with the current situation. I thought that we could quickly expand to a bigger situation."

He paused again and continued, "If there was an opportunity, why not do it? It was with this in mind that I started the next action. At the same time, it was also because of this that I was relieved to let Karman control the army. I thought, as long as Katz came, then his strength must be our iron rod, and that it would be enough to deter all the swing faction in the army. But I didn't expect that their actions would be faster than I thought..."
Lei Luo raised his head to look at Morton, his eyes carrying a hint of desolation.
"In the end, I was too confident...I will remember this lesson for the rest of my life."
"If this was the original, then I can't blame you for anything. You've thought about it carefully enough. It's just that Karman is too cunning."
When he said the name Karman, Morton couldn't help but grind his teeth.
"Unless we lie on the ground for the rest of our lives. As long as we can get up one day, we'll definitely find him and let him pay back this debt of blood a hundredfold or a thousand times over."
Lei Luo shook his head and said, "Naturally, Karman won't let it go. But, if we really talk about debt, the biggest debtor isn't Karman. Just by himself, he doesn't have the ability to control such a large-scale rebellion... he has someone behind him."
"Behind him...are you talking about Ulysses?"
Morton's eyebrows twitched. The matter wasn't that simple. This was something he knew long ago, but it directly involved such a high-level person, which still surprised him.
"I'm not sure. I haven't contacted Ulysses yet."
Lei Luo shook his head again.
"Before I left Ulysses, Ulysses gave me a magic communication beacon in private. He told me to use this magic communication beacon to contact him if I had any urgent matters.

"I'm currently testing the security of this magic communication beacon. The results should be available today or tomorrow. If I'm sure that this magic communication beacon is safe, I'll send him a letter to ask about the situation."
"You have to be so cautious when writing letters to Ulysses... "Morton suddenly understood as he said this, and his face revealed a look of shock. "Do you think that there's someone working with Ulysses?"
"I've been thinking about it carefully these past few days. For so many years, Karman has indeed been neglected and suppressed. Neither Ulysses nor his father are likely to really put him in an important position. Even if Ulysses wanted to do something like this, he wouldn't trust Karman to do it. However, it's hard to say. Perhaps he saw that I was certain that Karman wouldn't do this, so he asked him to come..."
Lei Luo pursed his lips and fell silent for a while. Then, he tapped the table with his fingers.
"No matter what, I still don't think it's natural if we assume that Ulysses was the mastermind, but if it's another person beside him, it seems logical."
Before Lei Luo could finish, Morton hurriedly asked, "Who is this person?"
"Right now, there's still no answer. I'm not sure yet."
Morton could tell that Lei Luo did not want to talk about this issue, so he changed the topic:
"All right, there's no rush to get to the bottom of this. What's most important now is to decide what to do next."
"I finally understand this world. You must have fresh blood in your hands. Moreover, it's fresh blood that you personally killed. It's so much that it's enough to make others fear your blood. Only then will others truly respect you."
When Lei Luo said this, he laughed coldly, and killing intent appeared on the corners of his brows.
"When I went to the Great Wall of Iron Blood, that Kronin evaluated me as a first-rate adviser, a second-rate general, and a ninth-rate king... Now that I think about it, his evaluation was very accurate. In the past, we were all too naive. We always thought of outsmarting others. We never thought that the things we outsmarted wouldn't be truly reliable. In the end, in this world, we still need to talk about strength. Therefore, we can not only obtain by intelligence but also obtain by force."
"Obtain...by force?" Morton looked at Lei Luo and finally repeated these two words.
"How do we obtain by force?"

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)

The Last Woman on Earth: A Military Sci-fi Intrigue
A disillusioned military officer and the self-proclaimed ‘last woman on Earth’ embark on a journey to uncover the truth behind a world without women. Second Lieutenant Alexei Vronsky is clinging to his sanity after his comrade was killed in a prolonged siege, but the time for self-loathing and wall punching is over. He finds an intruder in his room, who claims to be a woman—a mythical creature only existed in ancient texts. Against his expectation, she has no wings attached to her back, no laser guns on her shoulders, and not the slightest idea about the endless war between the Republic of Moskva and its vassal states. Suspecting she’s a government experiment, Alexei determines to find answers to the impossible existence of women. However, the deeper he digs into the dark, the further he realizes there’s more to the eternal war than he’s allowed to know. And the sooner he can stop the cycle of needless deaths the better, before he's shut down. Permanently. [Apart from being a war novel, this story is also a progression fantasy. The MC will get stronger, acquire more special abilities and fighting gears. They come later in the story, though.]
