Chapter 2003: Deduction
Two sword lights of diametrically opposing aura suddenly collided together.
The space vibrated violently as ripples formed all over, creating a terrifying scene.
At this very moment, Zhang Ruochen was possessed by the mysterious sword god that had created the ‘Wordless Sword Manual’, while Shang Ziyan was possessed by the evil god that had forged the Bloodbairn. The clash of the two were like the mysterious sword god and the evil god were fighting one another.
BOOOMM!
With Zhang Ruochen and Shang Ziyan as the center, the ground within a hundred mile radius around them sank rapidly as mountain peaks collapsed, unable to withstand the devastating force that the two unleashed as they clashed.
And upon sensing the terrifiying power of both Zhang Ruochen and Shang Ziyan, everyone else could not help but to distance themselves.
Although the cultivation base on the two were not the top; after all, none of them had culminated their Precept Dominion yet, but their combat power was just too terrifying that the average Path’s Anterior-realm elites could not even come close to. No one wanted to become a colletaral damage of their fight.
Whooosh!
Several massive dimensional rifts appeared like great ancient beasts with their jaws wide open.
Seeing this dimensional rifts, those around retreated even further back.
If they were hit by those rifts, even a Neverwither Supreme Saint would be ripped apart whole.
“Are these two really just at the apex of a Greater Precept-World-realm? Why do I feel it’s more like two Neverwither Supreme Saints fighting each other?”
“As expected of the Scion of Space and Time, his spatial techniques is just too terrifying. Being able to rip space apart with just a raise of his hand, even a Neverwither Supreme Saint could die if they were to be careless.”
“So what if his spatial techniques is very powerful? It’s useless against Shang Ziyan. The Tricolored armor that Shang Ziyan is wearing makes him totally immune to spatial techniques.”
“While Shang Ziyan is not a master of the Eternal Paths, but he had means to restrict the Eternal Paths. So even if Zhang Ruochen is the master of space and time, he has no advantage when he goes up against Shang Ziyan. One Shang Ziyan is already no weaker than Zhang Ruochen, with three against one, Zhang Ruochen’s odds of winning are very, very slim.”
“Shang Ziyan is the heir of a god in the Heavenly Realm, and have the Supreme Perfect Physique. He then joined the Fane of Merits, and became a personal disciple of Yanshen, and fully cultivated the Path of the Three Corpses, a technique on the Taiyi Divine Techniques Ranking that only a few have succeed. He is a veritable genius, and had not been defeated before against someone of the same realm.”
“If Zhang Ruochen’s ability is only this much, then this battle will probably come to an end soon.”
…
Many cultivators were paying close attention to the fight between Zhang Ruochen and Shang Ziyan, with most believing that Shang Ziyan had the clear advantage, and taking Zhang Ruochen down was just a matter of time.
During recent times, Zhang Ruochen could be said to be invincible, and he could defeat his foes no matter how strong they were.
But at this moment, most were not optimistic about his chances. After all, he had ran into Shang Ziyan who was much better than him.

“The situation isn’t looking good. Will Zhang Ruochen really lose to Shang Ziyan?”
Looking at the battle from afar, the Thousand-Star Maiden could not help but frown.
Although she did not want to admit it, but judging from the current situation, it was indeed unfavorable to Zhang Ruochen.
Against three Shang Ziyan’s furious assault, Zhang Ruochen found it difficult to go on the offensive, and could seemingly only react passively.
Such a dangerous battle could see him killed if he was not careful.
At the start of the battle, Zhang Ruochen perhaps could still deal with them, but as time passed, and when Zhang Ruochen is physically and mentally exhausted, it was very likely that Shang Ziyan will seize an opening to strike.
On the other side, Luo Sha the Rakshasha Princess also watched the battle between Zhang Ruochen and Shang Ziyan intently.
“Zhang Ruochen, as my fated one, you must prove your worth, and not lose to Shang Ziyan.”
Although Luo Sha had been thinking of taking Zhang Ruochen back to the Infernal Court, but she did not want to see Zhang Ruochen lose to Shang Ziyan.
To be precise, she did not want to see Zhang Ruochen lose to anyone. Her fated one must be both flawless and invincible.
On a cliff not too far away from the Peacock Manor, the mysterious Yanluo-clan man that had seized Shang Ziyan’s top-level Meritorious Armor of Flowing Light was still sitting before the fire while Chi Kunlun was seated next to him.
No one knew that sort of technique the former had used but no one could discover their presence.
“The Scion of Time and Space, Zhang Ruochen, and the leader of the Fane of Merits, Shang Ziyan, the two of them are actually fightning now. Very interesting.” The mysterious man chuckled.
The mysterious man then stretch a hand out as his Infernal Yanluo Qi surged, and a realm quickly formed in his palm. Every palm print was turned into mountain and rivers, all looking very real.
“Let me see how strong this two are.” The mysterious man murmured.
As he spoke, the mysterious man had used some unknown technique as he grabbed two auras out of thin air, and creating the phantoms of Zhang Ruochen and Shang Ziyan. Both the phantoms look extremely lifelike, as if their true bodies had been taken by the mysterious man and placed within the realm within his palm.
Suddenly, the phantoms of Zhang Ruochen and Shang Ziyan exhanged fierce blows, as if they were the real bodies outside the Peacock Manor.
Shang Ziyan’s phantoms divided into three, with similar auras as they surrounded and attacked Zhang Ruochen’s phantom.
The mysterious man looked on quietly like a bystander.
After a while, the mysterious man condensed his own aura and inserted into the realm within his palm, forming his own phantom as he got into a melee with Zhang Ruochen and Shang Ziyan’s phantoms.
The battle inside the realm within the palm was extremely fierce, and it looked like it was about to tear down the entire realm.
Chi Kunlun snapped back to his senses and looked at the realm within the palm of the mysterious man. As he looked at the few phantoms that were constantly flashing about, he could not help but to reveal a confused look.
“What are you doing?”
The mysterious man raised his head and grinned at Chi Kunlun. “I wanted to see what is the difference of the strength between me, and both Zhang Ruochen and Shang Ziyan who are at the pinnacle of the Greater Precept-World-realm, and also deduce at the same time, who would win this battle.”

“You can deduce the outcome by just casually forming a few phantoms?” Chi Kunlun had a suspicious look on his face.
The mysterious man said. “Why? You don’t believe my abilities? Then, look carefully.”
As he said, the mysterious man moved his palm before Chi Kunlun.
Chi Kunlun was curios and he stared intently at the flickering phantoms.
Under his gaze, the speed of the phantom’s combat became faster and faster, almost making him dizzy.
The next moment, the few phantoms were all reduced to blobs of auras and then disappeared into nothingness.
Immediately afterwards, the palm of the mysterious man returned to normal, as if nothing had ever happened before.
“What’s the result of youe deduction? Chi Kunlun quickly asked.
While he had been staring at it, he could not see the outcome.
The mysterious man demurred for a little and said. “These two are no push overs, and they are not much worse than I was back then. Throughout the entire Celestial Court and Infernal Court, they are already among the best talents there is. Sadly they were born just a little too late, and was not in the same era as me. Otherwise, I would not have been so lonely.”
“Actually, I did not actually deduce any specific results. After all, these two had many tricks up their sleeves, and anything could happen during battle.”
“However, Shang Ziyan’s advantage is slightly greater. The Path of the Three Corpses is indeed marvelous, and Shang Ziyan also have many treasures on his body.”
“Of course, Zhang Ruochen, the Scion of Time and Space should not be underestimated. Who knows how many trump cards he is hiding, and he may very well have one that could counter Shang Ziyan’s hand.”
Hearing this, Chi Kunlun’s expression could not help but to slightly chance. How could he not tell that the mysterious man was obviously more optimistic about Shang Ziyan, and that meant that Zhang Ruochen was in a very precarious situation.
In fact, Chi Kunlun also knew that Shang Ziyan was extremely terrifying. If he cultivated all the way to the realm of Path’s Anterior, there will be scant few beneath a Supreme Saint that could be his match.
He had personally fought against Shang Ziyan back at Xumi Dojo and lost miserably, lasting only twenty odd exchanges under Shang Ziyan’s hands.
Although it was because he was too young, and was inferior to Shang Ziyan in all aspects, he had to admit that SHang Ziyan was really just too powerful.
The pressure he felt coming from Shang Ziyan was no lesser than the one he felt from Zhang Ruochen.
“Are you worried about Zhang Ruochen? Speaking of which, I’ve already helped Zhang Ruochen, and stripped away Shang Ziyan’s top-level Meritorious Armor of Flowing Light. Otherwise, Zhang Ruochen had no chance of winning at all.” The mysterious man said.
Chi Kunlun suddenly raised his head and stared at the mysterious man, saying. “If you can kill Shang Ziyan, and those butchers from the Heavenly Realm, I promise to submit to you as my master.”
However, the mysterious man shook his head and said. “Although killing them is very easy for me, but I cannot do that. There are four nasty buggers still chasing after me. If I were to attack, they will definitely notice me.”
“I only managed to catch a breather after so long so I don’t want to ask for trouble. You can forget about that.”
Hearing this, Chi Kunlun suddenly showed a disappointed look.
Seemingly able to see Chi Kunlun’s dismay, the mysterious man could not help but smile. “I think you would really want to watch the battle between Zhang Ruochen and Shang Ziyan, I’ve already lifted part of the seal of this place. Take your time and watch.”
Hearing this, Chi Kunlun immediately stood up and walked to the edge of the cliff as he cast his gaze at the direction of the Peacock Manor.
Relying on his powerful sight, Chi Kunlun quickly locked onto Zhang Ruochen’s figure.
“By the way, Zhang Ruochen seemed to have came to the Peacock Manor for you. It seems like he cares about you, his son.” the mysterious man said.
Hearing this, Chi Kunlun’s heart suddenly trembled as his fist could not help but to clench even tighter.
Although he still did not want to admit it, he actually believed that the mysterious man had said in his heart. If Zhang Ruochen was not his biological father, why would he come to his rescue time and time again?
It was just that he did not understand, if Empress Chi Yao was his mother, why did she made up such a lie to deceive him?
Of course, now was not the time to think about this, Zhang Ruochen’s safety was the most important.
Unfortunately, he could not do anything now, and could only watch from afar.
“Why am I so weak?”
Chi Kunlun clenched his fists, and was blaming himself deep down.
If he had not been captured by the Heavenly Realm elites on the Battlefield of Merits, the situation will perhaps be very different now.
Before the Peacock Manor, the battle between Zhang Ruochen and Shang Ziyan raged on.
“Damn you, Zhang Ruochen, even with three of my corpses teaming up I still cannot get much of an advantage. Master was right, Zhang Ruochen is a real trouble that needs to be removed as soon as possible. He cannot be allowed to grow, and if he really reaches Supreme Sainthood, then he will be even more difficult to deal with.”
After repeated fierce exchanges, Shang Ziyan could not help but get more and more astonished.
Originally, Shang Ziyan thought that with his current strength, using the Path of the Three Corpses to defeat Zhang Ruochen would not be too difficult.
But now it seems like he had undoubtedly underestimated Zhang Ruochen.
Back then at the Celestial Domain of Truth, he had several opportunities to deal with Zhang Ruochen, but there were mistakes made and Zhang Ruochen was allowed to escape again and again.
In just a few years, Zhang Ruochen had fully developed, and there was not much difference between the former and him in terms of cultivation now.
“If I cannot put you to use, then I can only completely destroy you.”
A ferocious glint appeared in Shang Ziyan’s eyes as he swore in his heart.
No matter how strong Zhang Ruochen was, he will not leave this place alive tonight.

Two And A Half Deadmen
Silver-Spruce is a very strange and very haunted town. Ghosts inhabit its buildings and walk its streets. Some of them friendly and sane. Some of them not so much. Alder helps ghosts. Helps them fulfill their last requests so they can move on to whatever comes next. Sometimes the ghosts aren't so friendly and have to be moved on by force. Alder does that as well. And he's gotten rather good at it too. After a particularly rough exorcism, he finds himself following a strange ghost to a local tourist attraction. And while Alder never means to find himself caught up in chaos, monsters, magic, and mayhem always seem to have a way of finding him. You want more specifics for what you're reading? Here you go: This is Urban-fantasy but a little bit of a different spin. Often the protagonists in such stories tend to be the bigger fish in their world, or at least far from small fry. Be they legendary boogie men or badass wizards (which is in no way a bad thing, I love a lot of those stories.) But I thought it would be fun to have a protagonist who's far closer to the bottom end of the scale. He has some magic, and it's potent in its own way. But he isn't the big dog or a fighting machine. Outside of his bubble of influence, our protagonist is essentially a normal human as far as powers are concerned. And while you should be warned that this story will get dark in some places it's (hopefully) balanced out by humor and the lighter stuff. I'm not sure how to end this synopsis section so I'll just say bye. Bye!
