Chapter 3042: The Stellar Sand
Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation
“These two bottles of liquid are rare and precious ingredients. This bottle contains the rare ingredient needed to forge a soul-defense Royal Grade Celestial Weapon while this bottle contains the ingredient needed for a Celestial Lord to inscribe powerful Celestial Talismans,” Sun Liang Peng, the Sect Leader of the Simplicity Celestial Sect, replied.
Duan Ling Tian finally realized why these two bottles were kept in the Simplicity Celestial Sect’s treasure vault. These ingredients were extremely rare and valuable even in the entire Southern Heaven Territory.
As Sun Liang Peng guided Duan Ling Tian around the treasure vault and explained the various items in the vault to him, Duan Ling Tian thought to himself, ‘Apart from the Clear Heavens Divine Wood, nothing else catches my eyes…’
‘Is there nothing in here that catches his eyes?’ Sun Liang Peng was rather speechless when he saw Duan Ling Tian looking through the hundred items in the treasure vault with a slight frown on his face. He could tell Duan Ling Tian was not having difficulties choosing an item. Instead, it was clear to him that nothing caught Duan Ling Tian’s eyes at all. He could not help but wonder again if Duan Ling Tian was truly a sectless cultivator. After all, could sectless cultivators remain so indifferent faced with these treasures?
In the end, Duan Ling Tian decided to ask the Chaos Divine Earth for advice. “Chaos Divine Earth, what do you think I should choose?”
“I have no idea as well. There’s no doubt these are all treasures, but to me, they’re nothing,” the Chaos Divine Earth replied.
After listening to the Chaos Divine Earth’s words, Duan Ling Tian was going to randomly pick one of the items when a familiar voice rang in his mind. “There’s a red box with golden trimmings on your right. Take it.”
The voice belonged to the Chaos Divine Flame.
“Senior, you’re awake?” Duan Ling Tian was surprised. Previously, the Chaos Divine Flame and the Profound Divine Metal had exhausted themselves and entered deep slumber after they helped him with getting the branch from the Divine Tree of Life to acknowledge him as its master.
“Yes,” the Chaos Divine Flame replied. Its voice sounded weak unlike before when it was filled with vigor.
“Senior, the red box contains the ingredient to forge a Royal Grade Celestial Weapon. It’s called the Stellar Sand,” Duan Ling Tian said after he recalled what Sun Liang Peng had said about the content of the red box.

“The Stellar Sand will benefit you. It’ll speed up the integration of the soul sword in your sea of consciousness with the Divine Sword in your body,” the Chaos Divine Flame replied.
Duan Ling Tian’s eyes lit up when he heard the Chaos Divine Flame’s words.
Huang’er used to be the soul artifact of a prominent Devata Artifact. For her to completely integrate with the Seven Orifices Exquisite Sword in Duan Ling Tian’s body would require a long time. He, naturally, could not wait for her to completely become the soul artifact of the Seven Orifices Exquisite Sword since it meant he would have an additional helper by his side. The soul of a Devata Artifact was capable of manifesting in the form of a human, after all.
“How do I use the Stellar Sand?” Duan Ling Tian asked.
“All you need to do is obtain the Stellar Sand. You can leave the rest to me,” the Chaos Divine Flame replied.
With this, Duan Ling Tian reached out to pick up the red box with golden trimmings. For his second item, he decided to choose the box of Stellar Sand.
Upon seeing Duan Ling Tian picking up the box, Sun Liang Peng kindly reminded Duan Ling Tian, “As I said earlier, this box contains the ingredient needed to forge a Royal Grade Weapon. However, it’s only one of the few rare materials needed to forge a Royal Grade Weapon. Therefore, you won’t be able to forge a Royal Grade Celestial Weapon with this ingredient alone.”
“I know.” Duan Ling Tian nodded and glanced at the box in his hand. After he put away the box of Stellar Sand, he said, “Sect Leader, I’ll choose this box as my second item. We can leave the treasure vault now…”
As Zhang Guang Zheng, the Vice Sect Leader of the Simplicity Celestial Sect, had promised, Duan Ling Tian had chosen two items from the treasure vault.
Sun Liang Peng expected Duan Ling Tian to take up his offer and choose the third item as well. It was out of his expectation that Duan Ling Tian was ready to leave after choosing two items in the treasure vault. Therefore, he reminded goodnaturedly, “Duan Ling Tian, you can choose another item from the treasure vault.”
“Sect leader, thank you for your generosity. However, there’s nothing else I want in the treasure vault. If there’s something I like, I wouldn’t hesitate to owe you favor just to obtain it,” Duan Ling Tian said with a smile on his face.

Indeed. If there were an item that caught Duan Ling Tian’s eyes in the treasure vault, he would not hesitate to obtain it even if it meant owing Sun Liang Peng a favor. However, there was really nothing that caught his eyes in the vault.
Sun Liang Peng was rendered speechless by Duan Ling Tian’s words. Why were the items that had been passed down generation after generation unappealing to this young man who was not even 100 years old? Baffled, he could only lead Duan Ling Tian to the Transportation Formation in the treasure vault.
In just a blink of an eye, Duan Ling Tian had reappeared in front of the altar again.
The lifelike statue stood quietly on the altar. Its posture had reverted to its original state.
“Let’s go,” Sun Liang Peng said and brought Duan Ling Tian back to where they came from.
During their journey back, Duan Ling Tian mused inwardly, ‘There must be more than one Transportation Formation that leads to the Simplicity Celestial Sect’s treasure vault. They could be located anywhere as far as 10,000 miles or a million miles away.’
Since Duan Ling Tian had entered the treasure vault through a Transportation Formation, he did not know the location of the treasure vault. It would not surprise him if Sun Liang Peng did not know the exact location of the treasure vault as well. Moreover, he suspected the treasure vault was not in the Simplicity Celestial Sect’s estate at all.
Out of curiosity, Duan Ling Tian asked, “Sect Leader, do you know the exact location of the treasure vault?”
Sun Liang Peng paused in his steps for a moment before he resumed walking again. “Why do you ask?”
“The treasure vault must be located somewhere else since it requires a Transportation Formation for us to get there. The altar and the Formations along the path protect the treasure vault, right?” Duan Ling Tian looked at Sun Liang Peng and said, “If I’m not mistaken, the most important protective measure is the Transportation Formation. To be precise, the key to activating the Transporting Formation to the treasure vault is the most important protective measure…”
“Duan Ling Tian, not only do you have a high innate talent and comprehension skills, but you’re far more knowledgeable than ordinary people,” Sun Liang Peng said, slightly taken aback by Duan Ling Tian’s conjecture. Based on his reaction, it was clear that Duan Ling Tian had hit the nail on the head.
Sun Liang Peng looked at Duan Ling Tian, perplexed, as he asked skeptically, “A-are you really just a sectless cultivator?”
Duan Ling Tian’s innate talent, comprehension skill, and knowledge were not common among sectless cultivators. Most sectless cultivators had little knowledge about treasures and affairs of the world. Duan Ling Tian’s analysis of the Transportation Formation and the treasure vault clearly showed his intelligence. Apart from that, Duan Ling Tian was clearly unimpressed by the items in the treasure vault. Thus, he could not help but suspect Duan Ling Tian’s background. After all, with this, even the sectless cultivator by the Southern Heaven Celestial Lord’s side was not superior to Duan Ling Tian!
“Sect leader, I’m really just a sectless cultivator. In fact, the reason I joined the Simplicity Celestial Sect is to enter the Profound Nether Mansion. In any case, it shouldn’t matter to the Simplicity Celestial Sect whether I’m a sectless cultivator or not, right?” Duan Ling Tian asked.
“You’re right…” Sun Liang Peng nodded, agreeing with Duan Ling Tian’s words. Was Duan Ling Tian really a sectless cultivator? After thinking about it for a moment, he agreed it mattered not if Duan Ling Tian was a sectless cultivator or not. After all, it would not affect the Simplicity Celestial Sect.
After exiting the complex underground passage, the dazzling light hit the duo’s eyes.
At this moment, Sun Liang Peng said, “Duan Ling Tian, this is a true disciple’s token. There are only ten of these tokens in the Simplicity Celestial Sect.”
Duan Ling Tian turned to look at the wooden token in Sun Liang Peng’s hand. There were green lines that snaked across the wooden token’s surface.
“Apart from you, there are nine other true disciples in the Simplicity Celestial Sect. The weakest true disciple is a Five Elements Celestial Duke. The cultivation bases of true disciples aren’t as important as their innate talents. Saying that, in the history of the Simplicity Celestial Sect, you’re the second person to be made a true disciple with the cultivation base of an Overarching Heaven Supreme Celestial.”
