Chapter 63: Cancel
“Wow!” Ling Pingan sent the customers off with his gaze.
Ling Pingan held his phone and looked at the notification of payment on it. He could not help but whistle.
“Awesome!” He was delighted.
Even though it was just one sale.
Even though he only made a profit of 30 yuan.
But…
He was simply delighted!
All he could just think about was that he had finally earned the utility bill for the day.
He was very satisfied.
… … … ..
After walking out of the fog.
Situ He looked at Zhang Hui and finally could not stop himself from asking, “Sir, why did you…”
Obviously, the owner of the bookstore could accept other payment methods.
As the Grand Secretariat of Internal Affairs of the palace, he could at least take out several treasures that were more valuable than the Taotie.
“Someone has to sacrifice!” Zhang Hui said calmly.
“If it’s not me, it would be someone else!”
“But why someone else?” He asked Situ He.
The Federal Empire was a country built on sacrifice.
It was also a country that relied on the blood and flesh of countless ancestors to form a bond and unite.
If it were not for the sacrifice, this country would have long been torn apart in the civil war.
If not because of unity, the country would have been torn apart long ago.
“Moreover, it is most appropriate for me to do this!” Zhang Hui said, “it is not just because my body condition is suitable…”
He did not have many years left to live.
The reason why he could be breathing till now was because the Central Federal Government and the Blackguards used a huge amount of pills and wonderous items to maintain his body regardless of the cost.
“It’s was also mainly because the spells I practice are suitable!”
He practiced the Orthodox Dao techniques of the Orthodox Party.
He walks on the Grand Path of recuperation.
Perhaps this made his combat ability inferior to other colleagues.
But it also allowed him to have a powerful divine soul that was far superior to other colleagues.

“The facts have also proved this…” he felt the mark in his soul. “You see…”
“Even if I die and become his slave…”
“I can still retain the self-control on one-third of my soul!”
“This is a big deal!” Zhang Hui laughed.
He paid two-thirds of his soul to buy the Book of Reason at the price.
It seemed as if he ha made an extremely wrong decision.
He sold his soul.
But in actuality…
He had built a bridge.
With one-third of his freedom, he could continue to serve the Federal Empire even after he dies.
This was crucial!
“Right…” Zhang Hui looked at Situ He. “Cancel all the subsequent deploys and arrangements!”
Situ He raised his head and looked at the Lieutenant General. He did not quite understand his plans.
According to the planned deploys.
The federal would gradually show goodwill to the owner of the bookstore.
This included, but was not limited to, contacting his family members.
They would provide him with all kinds of convenient services.
At the same time, they would purchase the businesses in the nearby streets and send the Federal capital to move in, serving him alone.
These were all mature policies.
They were also the trump cards of the Federal’s Central Hub to deal with those outstanding experts in the wilderness after the recovery of spirit aura.
Many people who were once unwilling to serve the country were eventually unable to resist under the layers of care and preferential policies.
Those who were the least interested agreed to show themselves and hung the empty title of general rank.
Or they would recommend a few representatives to the ministers of local councils.
“He…” looking at the gradually dispersing fog, Zhang Hui said, “he’s such an existence that we shouldn’t interfere with his decision!”
“Even if it’s good-intentioned!”
“You know…” Zhang Hui said, “five years ago, I was ordered to become the Grand Secretariat of Internal Affairs of the Palace, serving His Majesty the Emperor and Her Royal Highness Crown Princess…”
“The current Emperor was ascended to the throne at a young age. Even now, he is only fifteen years old…”

“But since he was young, His Majesty has already shown that he doesn’t like others to arrange his life, study, and living at will!”
“Even his biological sister, Her Royal Highness, Crown Princess Rouan!”
“Our Majesty was such a person…”
Zhang Hui sighed softly, “not to mention him…”
Speaking up to this point, Zhang Hui handed the watch on his wrist to Situ He. “Look…”
The electronic clock on the wristwatch was connected to one of the satellites in space.
It could be calibrated at anytime, anywhere.
And it showed the current time of 10:32:21 p.m. on the wristwatch.
And Situ He remembered very clearly that they had checked the time before they went into the fog.
It was exactly 10:32:02 p.m. at that time.
In other words, only less than 20 seconds had passed since the two of them had entered the fog.
And these 20 seconds were deducted from the time they had wasted talking just now.
In other words, the time that they had spent in the fog was static to the outside world.
According to the theory of relativity, this kind of situation would only appear on the event horizon of a black hole.
Situ He gulped.
Would the existence with an event horizon of black hole care about something of such earthliness?
He would not!
Therefore, the things he arranged would lead to two different possibilities.
First: He was very satisfied with the servitude and bootlicker attitude of the earthy ants.
Getting this great existence to lend his hand of friendship to the Federal Empire.
It would be a win-win situation!
Second: The foolish and arrogant actions of the ants would make him feel a little annoyed.
He might crush all these stupid insects to death with a slap!
Just like…
Situ He once saw a forum in the Blackguard’s intranet.
Someone on the intranet asked: What if I found a group of ants under a tree in my backyard, using their bodies to form strange patterns. What should I do?
The following high praised answer was still fresh in Situ He’s memory: When I was a child, I was often attracted by the ants’ arrayed patterns, and then I followed their course of action and destroyed their nests.
So, he knew, there were no more doubts about this matter.
Because under normal circumstances, he would choose to react based on the second method!
This was an easy matter to acknowledge.
Just like when he was cooling in the yard during the summer.
A few flies buzzed as they landed on his arm.
If these flies have wisdom and knew how to please such a “great, indescribable giant ruler and eternal god” like him.
Therefore, they used their mouthparts to clean his body.
They even flew to his ears and hummed prayers, worships, and begged.
How would he respond?
He would slap them all to death for sure!
That might sound extremely cruel.
But the truth was things would probably end like this.
Thinking of this, Situ He understood Zhang Hui’s decision!
Before he could be certain of how Him in the fog would respond to the actions of the Federal Empire.
The smartest way was to watch from afar and make no moves!
If he wanted to collaborate with them, he would contact them.
If he did not want to, any probing action could lead to a tremendous disaster!
Just like what Zhang Hui said.
The Emperor in the palace disliked others interfering and arranging his life, his learning, and his choice of making friends, even he was only 15 years old.
Even if other people’s intentions were for his good.
“Of course,…” Zhang Hui looked at Situ He, who had already understood his intentions, and said, “it’s not that we can’t do anything…”
“With such an existence, we can make use of and borrow strengths to provide him with things as long as it doesn’t annoys or disturbs him!”
“Just like the food delivery service and laundry service that you arranged…”
“All of these actions that have proven not to disgust nor grab his attention could be continued.

The developers of the worlds leading VRMMORPG Edge Online have decided to shut down its servers after over a decade. Shugireth Darkstar, the leader of Pandemonium, Edge Online's top guild, suffers from a deadly disease and his end is near. He hasn't left his VR pod for 5 years, as the medical nanodroids at the hospital takes care of him. Without Edge, he will die, because his physical body has already been all but destroyed by the sickness. Seeing no light at the end of the tunnel, Shugireth Darkstar, the Master of Pandemonium, stubbornly stays behind as the servers shut down... If that was all, we could end this story right here. However, that was only the beginning of the legend of pandemonium. The prelude to the movement, if you will. Shall we see what happens next? -------------- Some notes from Me (The author, gasp surprise): I first wrote this (100k) as an experiment. I saw the advice about having foils for overpowered MCs, and I watched quite a few lectures on writing. I wanted to test things out for myself and see if I could carry a story through other ways than only relying on physical conflict like some thrillers do. Thus this might lean a bit towards slice of life with a romance subplot, but I don't want to give my story away so read it if u want to know more. This was basically never intended for anyone else's eyes but my own, and written to explore writing as a process. This wasn't my attempt at writing a good book, but it turned into something that I think might interest some people, so I decided to pop it up here. It is slightly old so my style and writing skills have advanced considerably since I first started this thing. Having said that, I think it's pretty readable, but I am very interested in how other people will receive this. Please feel free to criticize it and just in general shoot me some feedback on what you think. It contains light Litrpg elements, not heavy table spam, it's just the basis of the world. Although I like that sort of thing, this was written before I even knew of Royalroad and hadn't considered litrpg much. Some of you may recognize that it was slightly inspired by Overlord. Also, the Tags for sexual content and traumatizing content are there as a precaution on all of my stories pretty much, even if my story does not contain any of that at the moment. I can't really know what the future will bring, but in the case of this story I do know a little bit, since I wrote 100k words before posting it here. And I just posted it on a whim because I figured some readers on Royalroad might enjoy this story.
