Chapter 366: Difference
Simultaneously, he took out a dish-shaped metallic artifact from his space ring and activated it with a click.
It was the Riddle of Nightmare artifact!
The next instant, Adur's original consciousness pulled into the Dreamworld!
He soon noticed that his whole surroundings turned darker.
The crimson sky disappeared from his eyes, and soon darkness replaced everywhere.
What shocked him most was that the nearby humans also disappeared mysteriously.
'Where is this place?' He couldn't help but take a deep look at the sky.
During all these years, he had never encountered anything like today and got startled deeply.
He then shifted his attention towards his Inner World and noticed the invisible link connected to his main body!
'So, it's a separate dimension seals one's consciousness, huh.' He nodded his head in understanding and left the Dreamworld through the connection in seconds.
If he were a Rank-4 Warlock, it would take him more than a minute to break away from this separate dimension.
But he was a peak-level Rank-5 Warlock!
No, he even had the strength to face a Legend Rank Warlock!
…
It took only two seconds for Adur to find the connection link and return to his main body.
But this was more than enough for Charles to test the opponent's strength.
Charles first cast [Purple Consciousness] on Adur and tried to invade his Inner World.
Simultaneously, he cast [Curse of the Overlord] spell and sent a thin streak of black fire towards Adur.
But just as his two spells were about to affect Adur's body, some invisible power appeared out of nowhere and repelled them!
It was so strong that it caused his Rank-4 and Rank-5 spells to vanish without even a trace!
'Divine Power?' Charles raised his eyebrows in surprise and soon exhaled deeply.

Then, he cast [Black Inferno] spell and tried to attack his body, but failed miserably due to the same mysterious divine force!
Whenever he tried to attack Adur's body or soul, the divine power came out of his body and encircled him like a forcefield.
What's more shocking was that this protection force field was capable of even blocking a Rank-5 spell!
'No wonder he managed to kill four Rank-5 Warlocks and crippled three Rank-5 Warlocks.' He couldn't help praise inwardly.
At that moment, Adur's consciousness also returned from the Dreamworld, looked at him coldly, and spoke.
"Your tricks may work on common people and the Paragons, girl. But you can't fool my eyes." He paused for a moment, gripped the wooden staff, and asked.
"Who are you? What did you do to my people?"
Just as he finished those words, a tremendous mysterious power descended from above and crashed on Charles's body!
It was so strong that it made him immobilize in a moment!
He tried to move but couldn't.
'That Ember Golem also used similar power to restrain me a few months ago.' Charles thought to himself.
He then released his full wisdom power, enveloped the whole city, and then spoke.
But unlike before, he infused his voice with his wisdom power and let it spread all over the city!
"Do you want to know my identity?" A charming smile appeared on Charles's feminine-looking face.
"Be it then. I'm Hanna Cortoner, and I'm the new Champion of Red Humans."
At that moment, the whole Red Humans in the city got startled by her voice and looked everywhere in confusion.
Meanwhile, Adur snorted coldly, raised his hand, and conjured a ball of fire.
"Unfortunately, Red City doesn't need another Champion."
Saying so, he took a step forward and walked towards Charles.

At that moment, the fireball in his hand started to turn a golden color and expanded.
Within two seconds, it expanded into a five-meter radius fireball and looked more like a mini-sun!
But an unknown type of invisible power appeared all over the mysterious fireball and gave off the feeling of sacredness.
On the other hand, Charles gritted his teeth and roared in anger.
"It's not for you to decide, Adur. You are not a God!"
His feminine voice echoed in every citizen's ears like drums.
Upon hearing his words, many Paragons and even some Sacred Humans showed admiration towards the young woman!
But all of them sighed helplessly and shook their heads in disappointment.
They had long known about this outcome and felt pity towards the young woman.
"God? Are you talking about the sleeping bird in the dungeon?" A mocking smile appeared on Adur's face as he pointed his finger at the black tower and chuckled.
"That God has long gone, imbecile. Currently, there is only one God in this city, and that is me!"
He said in a deep tone and threw the golden fireball at Charles.
Meanwhile, his words stabbed everyone's heart!
A strange silence appeared in the city, followed by a loud explosion.
The fireball exploded as it arrived near Charles and released waves of golden fire.
The golden fire soon enveloped Charles, walls, houses, and even the nearby Red Humans and burned everything in its path!
A few seconds later, the fire died down and revealed a massive crater at the place where Charles stood before!
Upon seeing this, Adur clicked his tongue and muttered.
"This is the difference between a mortal and a Divine."
But just as he turned around, he suddenly sensed a presence from his right side and stared at the figure in confusion.
"You manage to evade my attack?" A surprise flashed on his face.
On the other hand, Charles casually leaned his back against the wall and stared at him in amusement.
Although Adur was powerful, he wasn't a smart one.
'He has too many weaknesses. His main weaknesses are arrogance, overconfidence, pride, and greed.'
Muttering inwardly, Charles suddenly extended his right hand, pulled something from the invisible space, and then caught something in the air.
The next second, a wooden staff appeared in his hand.
It was the same wooden staff Adur holding a while ago!
His action startled all the powerhouses who were watching the battle using their wisdom power!
Even Adur couldn't understand when he lost his battle staff and looked at him in shock and alarm.
Meanwhile, Charles stored the staff into his space ring and spoke.
"A Divine? You? You are nothing but a clown, Adur." He paused for a moment and then spoke with a smile.
"Let me show you the power of true God then."
Saying so, he clapped his hand together and activated all the 8 billion Crimson Butterflies.
At that moment, every Red Human felt a hot sensation from the deepest part of their body and got startled.
Soon, Crimson Butterflies came out of their bodies, flapped their wings, and flew towards the sky.
Aurora Land, Vermillion Section, Arch Domain, King's Land, Ashland, and even the Second District got enveloped by millions of butterflies.
Within seconds, millions of Crimson Butterflies appeared in the sky and blocked the two crimson suns!
Those strange butterflies continued to fly in the sky and soon started to combine one another.

Necromancer and Co.
In a time before the existence of the present, the gods decided to create a plane of existence where all their creations could exist in the same place. In it, all would be fair, and all gaps between races and technological advancements could be crossed with a single system that the gods had created. Every year, the gods would choose a new race to put in their land, and in this new group of beautifully unlucky people, Alen, his friends, and a few people from Earth have finally met their turn to be tossed into the playground of the gods. Unfortunately though, Alen was thrust into a forest of corpse-eating bears and horribly smelly undead on his first day, one of the many danger-zones of the continent the gods had chosen to throw them in. It would be easy to say that he simply died within the first day, or that he'd starved to death or whatever, but let's be honest... That story would be no fun to tell, yes? (Re-write of my first fiction with the same name.)

The Paths of Magick
Credits: Story by Xcaliburnt. Cover Art by @Bervolart. Magick, the power to bend the laws of reality. All because of a mystical substance known as mana. Mages follow the Paths to achieve power, for there is no more addictive chase. Each Path winds and twists, forcing mages through the flames of adversity and challenge. Though the operative word is "path", the reality is far less straightforward. Instead of a road, Paths are like the branches of world trees, erupting into the heavens, intertwining, and ending in sharp snaps. Only the strongest reach the sky. There are several Paths, and many Ways to walk them—variations of the same Path, and like the stars, they are endless. Magick is the sacred flame that scours the fat, rendering the truest self. Superfluous flesh melting away to show the skeleton of one's being. A chance for ascension—apotheosis. Though not every mage works to godhood, if they survive long enough, It is inescapable. Witness the lives of those that tread the knife's edge of self-destruction. Each one intertwined in their search for answers, revenge, and, most of all: power. These individuals have all lost something precious—irreplaceable—and In search of filling the void left behind, they have taken up the mantle of a mage. Per aspera ad astra. Ad mortem vel divinitatis. (Through adversity to the stars. To death or divinity.) There is no consistent release schedule except my consistent inconsistency. Besides, there’s like a thousand pages worth of content, how can—you already read it? Goddamn. Oh, and there is a very long hiatus between volumes as I intend to edit and rewrite a lot. What to Expect: This story is progression fantasy, so expect a healthy dose of training. It's also heavy on slice of life, and it isn't entirely overarching-plot-driven. Expect characters to live their lives, and not always be on some quest to save the world. There's a lot of magic theory and discussion about it in the story. So, if you don't like impromptu lessons on sorcerous theory by traveling monster slayers, this might not be for you. But if you do like it, rejoice! For there is a lot of it. This is also heavy on prose, purple as a bruised eye. I use outdated, uneccesarily collegiate-level terms and play around with the writing style just for the heck of it. I find it fun to wax and wane poetic, and that might grate on you—I don’t plan to change this aspect of the Paths much if at all. Onto the viewer discretion is advised parts: This is grim-dark/ grim-heart. Take the tags seriously. There will be combat scenes that are brutal and horrifying. Fights to the death tend to be. This is a tale about medieval mercenaries (quite literal killers for hire), man-eating monsters, and eldritch gods beyond the material plane. Beside that, there will be traumatic events that are best left unread. I do not detail certain acts I find heinous enough, instead leaving some parts unwritten but still alludded to if not outright stated; there is simply no graphic narration thereof. This is not for the faint of heart.
