Chapter 348: Goal
A twenty-year-old young woman sat on a three-legged horse and was riding on a dirt road. She had a curved body, medium-sized melons, blush skin, a heart-shaped face, and wore a leather armor-like dress.
There was also a long-curved sword hung on her waist and made her look more like a warrior.
This young woman was none other than Charles!
As he kicked the horse, it made a snort and fastened its speed.
Currently, he was on his way towards the City of Red.
As the horse moved forward, he constantly glanced around and watched the beauty of this land.
After a few minutes of riding, Charles soon saw a tall mountain up ahead and whipped the horse.
Meanwhile, the horse let out another dissatisfying grunt and ran faster.
Within a few minutes, Charles reached the mountain's foot and moved around it.
Soon, he saw a large city filled with tens of thousands of tiny houses.
But what made him widen his eyes was not the size of the city but a single black tower!
Yes, an eerie black tower stood at the center of the city and seemed to be touching the sky!
'Mystic Tower? No, this one looks completely different.' He frowned.
Soon, he checked the information from Hanna's memories and soon raised his eyebrows.
"A dungeon, is it?"
It was the first time he had heard of such a thing.
'Hmm, she too doesn't know much about this dungeon… But she once heard from her father that the Paragons and Sacred Humans are strict with rules and would never allow any impure Red Human to walk near it. Even her father only looked at this tower from afar before leaving the city. Oh? Is it because he is an illegitimate son?'
While thinking, he pulled the reins and led the horse towards the City of Red.
He continued to travel by horse for the next two hours and soon arrived in front of an 8-meters tall stone wall.
At that moment, hundreds of Red Humans moved in and out of the city like busy people.

As for checking, there was none.
Charles, too, whipped the horse and entered the city through a metallic gate.
Although a few well-armored red humans stood at the entrance, none of them blocked his path.
Well, there were some lecherous perverts stared at his bulging chest and his ass, though.
Comparing to other red human females, Hanna was indeed a peerless beauty in her hometown.
If Charles used the 'Disguise' skill to change his face, he wouldn't have attracted the guards' attention.
Unfortunately, he used the [Shape-Shifting] skill using Hanna's blood and turned into a woman.
So, even her charm attribute had transferred to him!
Currently, it was showing 20!
'Can it even help me in any way?' He instantly pulled the reins, patted the horse, and rode it towards the group of soldiers.
They also noticed her actions and soon averted their gazes from her chest.
On the other hand, Charles soon arrived near the guards, hopped down from the horse, and asked in a pleasant female voice.
"Have you seen this kid?"
While asking, he waved his hand and started to make some hand movements!
In truth, he used the false flame, manipulated the water elements from the surrounding air, and created an illusionary layer.
After that, he inserted the piece of Edith's memory and created a realistic illusion of a Red Human kid!
He was the same kid who appeared in Edith's vision!
On the other hand, the red human guards were startled by his illusion creation method and stared at him in surprise and shock.
"H-How did you create an illusion, My Lady?" One of the guards looked at the illusion for a second and asked.
But what made Charles feel surprised was the tone he used to call her.
He became very humble, like his servant!
The guard was around 6 feet tall, muscular, rough face, and had blush hair.
He wore armor made of some beast leather and held a bronze-tipped spear in his hand.
'Hmm? Why is he showing humble expression?' Charles also glanced at other guards and noticed that they were also showing polite expressions on their faces.

Without wasting any time, Charles adjusted his dress and spoke casually.
"It's my unique bloodline spell, mister. Now, can you guys tell me the answer?"
Meanwhile, the muscular guard nodded, turned his gaze towards the illusionary image, and frowned.
He then pondered for a moment and responded.
"He is a pure-blooded Red Human, My Lady. Look here; he has unique crimson hair and bright red skin. Only those who belong to the Royal lineage would look like this."
Upon hearing his words, Charles's eyes widened.
'Pure blooded Red Humans? Does that mean their skill color difference is not due to them staying in hot areas?' Although he had expected such a result, he was still shocked a little.
'Royal Lineage, huh.' A grim look appeared on Charles's face.
Meanwhile, the Red Human guard retracted his gaze from the illusion and said calmly.
"It might be impossible for us to go there, but you are an exception, My Lady." He paused for a moment and then asked with a smile.
"You must be from one of those outside settlements, right?"
Upon hearing his words, Charles wore a startled look and nodded his head after a short hesitation.
On the other hand, the muscular guard smiled a little and continued.
"Like you, there are some half-paragons who would come to this city often. Some would come here to see their original family members, while the others would come here to earn money and fame. Alas, most of them would return to their hometown in disappointment. As for the remaining few, they would choose to stay here and start working for the Paragons. If they have enough strength, they would register for government jobs and become real citizens. Hmm, I think a few powerful ones became higher officials after coming here and moved to the Royal District under some privilege. Unfortunately, those types of lucky and powerful ones are rare."
His voice contains a trace of envy.
Upon hearing his words, Charles raised his eyebrows and asked.
"Wait… How do you know that I'm a half-paragon?"
Meanwhile, one of the nearby guards glanced at his right ear and spoke.
"Unlike normal Red Humans, a half paragon's ears are slightly red. You are also an attractive one. Like this, there are many differences between us, My Lady." He paused for a moment and then added.
"Although it was hard to distinguish, we found out your identity after you showed us the earlier illusion magic. In this whole Red Human race, Paragons are the ones who are capable of casting different kinds of unique spells."
A look of astonishment appeared on Charles's face.
'These guys are not bad. Hmm, I should continue my acting.' He muttered inwardly and continued to ask like a clueless half-paragon.
"But why are you speaking to me in respect?"
Meanwhile, the muscular guard shook his head and answered.
"Although you are just a half-paragon, your status is way above us, My Lady. As long as you didn't go to serve the true Paragons and stays in the second district, you can live in there like a true lord. If you came here for money, you can become a patrol officer and earn by various means. If not, you can also show your strength to the garrison leader and become a high-rank patrol officer. Moreover, you'll get a private house."
He spoke like a tempting merchant.
On the other hand, Charles shook his head and spoke.
"Unfortunately, I have other purposes." He suddenly paused for a moment, revealed a mischievous smile, and then added.
"I came here to snatch the authority of this city. Otherwise, why would I waste my time to come here?"
Saying so, he skillfully hopped on the horse, pulled the reins, and started moving deep into the crowd.
On the other hand, the muscular guard and the other guards wore a dumbfounded look on their faces and soon broke into laughter.
Unfortunately, no one would've thought that what he said was the actual truth!

Hacking Reality (A teenage Mad Scientist's story.)
Maya Williams was smart. For the first time however, she realized she might be a little too smart. At least if the fact that a gang had kidnapped her was any indication. But that didn’t matter, because she’d show them. She’d show them all!!! Just as soon as the voices in her head could agree on how to get out of this mess. --- Please Note: This is a version of a forum quest I run following a teenage Mad Scientest with heroic tendencies in the same city/setting as my other stories the Huntsman's Quest and Get Ink'd. Meaning that while a majority of the plot is made up by me, the major choices as well as what each chapter is about are usually made by the actual readers in forum votes. Additionally, given how this is essentially a story version of a Tabletop game there is also a background RPG system that while the characters aren't necessarily aware of, the readers can see these stats to know how each chosen 'Action' effects their character's development.
