Chapter 347: Journey
A few minutes later, Charles erased most of her memories, swiftly unsheathed the black dagger from his waist, and plunged it into her throat.
The Red Human woman twitched for a few seconds and finally went motionless.
'Good.' Charles nodded his head, took a drop of her blood, let it drop on his palm, and started to shape-shift.
Once he changed himself into a 25-years-old looking woman, he removed her dress, shoes, and ornaments and then wore them one by one.
"Hanna… What a nice name."
Muttering inwardly, he turned his gaze towards the six-legged horse and grinned.
Meanwhile, the horse got frightened by his grin and started to back away.
"Riack." He muttered in a strange language called Fars Language, conjured a ball of red flame, and tossed it on the dead woman's body.
On the other hand, the horse seemed to have been enchanted by that word and started running towards him!
Upon seeing this, Charles nodded with a smile and soon caught the ropes.
Then, he hopped on the horse, pulled the ropes, and started riding.
But at that moment, his mind was entirely occupied by the information he gathered from the Red Human Woman.
In truth, this Red Human territory was much larger than what he had expected.
Other than the City of Red, there were more than 200 small towns in this land.
Each of these towns was governed by aristocrat-like people.
As for the population, there were more than 10 million Red Humans living in this Domain!
The people here in this Red Human territory spoke two languages.
The first one was Fars Language, which was also an official language in the whole Domain.
The second one was an ancient language called 'Paragon's Tongue.' Unlike the official language, this language was spoken by a minority of people, and they were called Paragons and Sacred Humans.

They were the ones who created a unique hereditary system in this Domain and belonged to Royal bloodlines. They were the rulers of this Red Human territory.
In this land, the Red Human citizens were divided based on the purity of their bloodlines.
The majority of the Red Humans were Freeman, and they were more than 80% of the population.
The farmers, merchants, bakers, weavers, winemakers, stonemason, cobblers, and other job people belong to this group. They were basically commoners!
But unlike the commoners of Edhen World, they had strong bodies and could cast one or two Rank-1 bloodline spells!
Alas, almost all of them were stuck in the Rank-1 realm because of the less amount of pure Red Human bloodline and were considerably weak here.
Then, the second majority of the people were called Helpers, and they were 10% of the total population.
Those who managed to Rank-Up and became Rank-2 beings were called Helpers.
They mostly work as government officials, guards, army members, border patrols, and so on. They also get the privilege to buy houses in the City of Red's second District.
Then, the next group of people was called Paragons. They were more like aristocrats and held complete authority over all the Red Humans.
They were pure-blooded Red Humans and had the power greater than any other Helpers.
The Red Human woman whom Charles killed earlier and stole her identity actually belonged to this group!
She was a Rank-3 Warlock and could cast more than five different types of spells.
'She belongs to a branch family of a paragon family called Cortoner and has 3 siblings. Her father is the Lord of the town called Bores and an illegitimate child of the Cortoner family member. The most important thing is that this Cortoner family isn't even considered a powerful noble family in the City of Red. There are more than 1,000 Paragon families in the Royal section.' Charles muttered inwardly and soon shifted his attention towards the Sacred Humans.

They were a religious group of people and held equal rights as Paragons.
Although they were not many, this group of people was powerful enough to shake the whole Domain.
They called themselves Sacred Humans and were firm believers of an entity called 'Fire Bird.'
Unlike the Royals and other Red Humans, these people would also use some unique spells called Divine spells!
They mostly live in a large sanctum called Divine Temple located at the center of the City and rarely show interest in politics and other things.
'But my most concern is about their leader, Adur… The Fifth Apostle of the Red Bird and also the Hero of Red Humans… From Hanna's memories, he is revered as a Demi-God by all the Red Humans and they even built temples for him in all the towns. Even Hanna would visit the nearby Sacred Temple and participate in the holy ceremonies daily before going to work. The same goes for all the Red Humans. Even if they didn't go to the Temple, they would do a simple ritual in their house to get his blessing.' Charles checked all the information and soon concluded.
'This City of Red is more dangerous than I thought. There are two things I need to be wary of. The first one is the leader of this religious group. Adur might be a very powerful mystic with the possession of some powerful artifact. The second one is about the unique Divine spells. What are these spells? I need to gather some information about those when I get free time.' But his main object was not that.
First, he had to find the Red Human brat!
'But I need to speed up.' He closed his eyes and sighed.
'I've 4 months to live. If I didn't find the 'Heart' and find a way the Destiny, my death will be certain….' Charles opened his eyes and then pulled the robes.
Simultaneously, he took the whip from the saddle and whipped it.
Meanwhile, the horse let out a loud neigh and started running deep into the woods madly.
Charles continued to ride the horse for two more hours and finally exited the woodland.
After that, he moved on the dirt road and saw a small town encircled by tall fences.
He even saw some Red Human guards at the entrance and led the horse.
A few minutes later, he entered the town without any problem and moved towards a particular mansion-like building.
Yes, the houses that appeared in the Red Humans' settlements seemed more like the houses from the Edhen World.
Cottage houses, huts, brick houses, and even some well-built storied houses appeared in his visions.
As the horse strolled on the street road, Charles maintained his cold attitude and soon reached the two-storied house's entrance.
Many Red Human guards even greeted him happily as he arrived at the entrance and opened the gate in a hurry.
Shaking his head, Charles directly entered the house, moved towards his room on the top floor, and packed his belongings.
Then, he stored everything in his space ring, wrote a letter for her father, and left the mansion.
After that, he mounted on the horse again and started his journey to the City of Red.

A King in the Clouds
Tanlar. A cruel, repulsive, and foul word. It meant untitled, officially, but it also meant ungifted, unable, unworthy, unnecessary, unhuman. It was more a curse than a term, a badge only the damned and condemned wore. To be a tanlar was to know your life, your entire being, was insignificant. Once Kaizer had resigned himself to such a fate, but those times had passed. He may have been untitled, but he was anything but untalented. He refused to scrape by at the bottom of society. Those who stood above him could sneer all they liked, but he wouldn’t suffer being stepped on for long. He’d be better, much better. But of course he would be. ‘Fate’ demanded it so. [Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] What To Expect: The story of a boy becoming a man becoming a king + everything that entails. Largely gamelit, but later arcs could be called litrpg. Also schemes. A lot of schemes. I do love some good ol' fantasy politics and intrigue. Minimum Word Count a Week: TBA after Writathon Release Time(s): Daily for as long as I can/until the end of the Writathon. I also write The Deathseeker [Returning Dec 5th]

When humans with the ability to control the fundamental particles of the universe with their minds were first discovered, the age of space travel began in earnest. Relativistic travel faster than the speed of light became possible and humanity moved out into the stars. When it was discovered that these Mages could be turned into effective weapons, humanity turned back to its oldest pastime of war. Hundreds of years later as humanity was on the brink of self-destruction, with its taste for war finally beginning to wane, a new organization was created. The Conclave was formed to regulate all Mage’s within the human colonies. While the colonies maintained their independence, the Conclave’s control over access to interstellar travel made them the de facto power amongst humanity. As the old saying goes, ‘Power Corrupts’, and many people were unhappy with the way the Conclave had been leveraging its authority, not the least of which were the Mages they controlled. One unregistered illegal Mage by the name of Tyrial had made it his life's mission to dismantle the Conclave at any cost. After spending decades working towards his goals alone, he realized he would need the aid of willing allies in his crusade. Gore in particular barely applies and the sexual content amounts to light Cinemax style at best. But, at least now you can’t say I didn’t warn you. Cinder Roots (Undergoing a Rewrite)
This novel is currently undergoing a major rewrite, as I noticed several plot points that needed to be revamped. I'll leave the chapters I've posted here to anyone curious to see how everything started, but I'll be posting the rewritten story as a new novel in the future. The characters will be the same, but the journey will be more understandable and hopefully, a lot more fun to read. -------- First, everything was fire, it killed, it consumed, and it gave him life. He was just a tree, born in the biggest forest that remained in the world, full of dryads, naiads, elves and treants, but he was alone. He couldn’t see. He couldn’t talk. Curiosity plagued him. He dreamed of wandering the land, but could only wonder what stood outside the reach of his roots. The tree was tired of waiting. He decided to not just dream, but to act. How could he survive against a invading empire, a grand conspiracy that threatened to shake the foundations of the world, and the raw danger that lies within these woods? With pure determination. Warning - There are quite a few POV changes in the first chapters, but that'll change after the introduction is done, as I'll be focusing on the MC perspective only.
