Fire Mage Chapter 339

Chapter 339: Guidance
Charles reappeared in a narrow alley and glanced at the strange houses, tents, and other buildings. Then, he turned his gaze towards the Star Watch in his right hand and clicked the crown area.
"Fog of Time." He spoke in a cold tone.
The next instant, a strange power came out of the pocket watch and spread towards all directions.
Then, the strange power entered everyone's Inner World and erased 'his' presence in this world from everyone's memories.
The same goes for the Red Dragon.
While the Red Dragon was searching for his whereabouts, it suddenly forgot who it was fighting with!
Instead of Charles's figure, only an invisible space appeared in its memories!
The same goes for the Miner's Den citizens.
They only remembered the appearance of the bluish portal in the sky, nothing else!
After some time, they looked at the sky in puzzlement and soon returned to their work.
'This should be enough.' Charles nodded inwardly, took out a hooded robe from his space ring, and wore it. Then, he sheathed the dagger, placed it on his waist, and changed his skin tone.
In a few seconds, he turned himself into a Red Human.
'But there are some facial differences between the real ones and me. I need to find a perfect target and create a new identity.' He muttered inwardly.
After that, he stored the Star Watch and started walking randomly.
At that moment, a strange warmth feeling appeared in his heart. It was as if some invisible power was trying to guide him to a particular place.
If he were in Edhen World, he would've cast [Flame Teleportation] spell and get away from this small city in an instant.
'Hmm? But I feel no hostility from this strange guiding power. Hmm, let's see where it is guiding me to.' He muttered under his breath and moved under its guidance.
After some twists and turns, the invisible power finally brought him to a strange house.
No, it looked more like a small hut. Walls were made of some red stones, while long plant leaves covered the top.
Charles soon arrived in front of a door-like rock and knocked it twice.
A few seconds later, the rocky door opened with a screech, and soon 1-meter tall grey-skinned Goblin peeked out from inside.
The Night Goblin had long black hair, pointy scarlet ears, scarlet eyes, and an ugly face with a sharp nose.
The Night Goblin wore a cloth made of tree fiber designed with red stones.
There was also a strange red collar that appeared around her neck.
Noticing his appearance, the Night Goblin suddenly tensed up and asked in a feminine voice.

"What do you want, Red Human? This area belongs to Lord Mairs."
Her voice contains a trace of wariness and panic.
Charles simply cast the [Burning Thoughts] spell on her and took a step forward.
Then, he grabbed her neck, pushed open the rocky door, and dragged her in.
On the other hand, the Night Goblin tried her best to shout, but no voice came out.
Panic and fear gripped her heart!
In the meantime, Charles released his hand, lifted her using his [Sleight of Mystery Hand] skill, and walked inside.
But to the Night Goblin's horror, she still couldn't utter a sound!
It was as if something invisible was still gripping her neck and obstructing her from making a sound.
At that moment, she knew that this Red Human was a powerful Warlock!
Meanwhile, Charles turned his gaze towards the interior and saw sewed fiber clothes, a few pots and cups made of some reddish metal, and a large mat was arranged in order.
But what made him halt his footstep was that he saw a small Night Goblin sleeping on the mat!
Bruises and wounds appeared all over the child Goblin's body. There were even callus marks that appeared on its palms, and it looked battered.
'A kid?' He raised his eyebrows in surprise.
Then, he moved towards the mat, squatted down, conjured a bluish fire, and tossed on to the Night Goblin's chest.
Upon seeing his action, the Night Goblin's face was filled with terror and panic.
Tears flew out of those scarlet eyes as she desperately struggled.
At that moment, the bluish fire completely enveloped the Night Goblin child's body and bathed it in bluish flame.
But for some odd reasons, the Night Goblin soon noticed that the bluish flame was not harming her child at all. Instead, it was healing her child!
Upon seeing this, the Night Goblin finally calmed down and stared anxiously at the Red Human.
"What is your name?" Charles asked while releasing the grip on her neck.
"Q-Qoz, My Lord!" She said in a trembling tone.
Charles nodded his head, put her on the rocky floor, and closed the door.
Then, he turned around, pointed his finger at the metallic color, and asked.
"What is it? Slave collar?"
Qoz froze for a second and soon nodded her head.
Meanwhile, Charles activated his [Arcane Eyes] skill and soon raised his eyebrows.
Because what he saw in the collar was not some runic letters but strange blackish lines!
'No... They are actually black fire threads!'
Those flame threads seemed to have formed into a gigantic spider-net-like structure and were deeply connected with Qoz's neck.

Charles even saw some black threads moved into her head and seemed to have connected with her brain!
'T-This... Even I couldn't break this collar. It has a presence of pure wicked flame essence. The slave collar's creator must be a Rank-5 or Rank-6 Existence.' His face turned gloomy.
'If I kill any of these slaves, the opposite party might find out about my existence. But I don't think these black flame threads are strong enough to invade one's Inner World.'
Muttering inwardly, Charles zeroed his focus on Qoz's eyes and cast [Burning Consciousness] spell.
A moment later, a small ball of purple fire appeared in the depths of her Inner World and soon transformed into a purple Charles.
Unlike the Mystics' Inner World, the whole surroundings were filled with red and white clouds.
Meanwhile, Charles stared at Qoz and spoke with a solemn expression on his face.
"I'm going to ask some questions. But you don't have to answer." He paused for a moment and then added.
"You just think of the answer. I'll do the rest."
Upon hearing his words, Qoz nodded her head and waited.
At that moment, the purple Charles in her Inner World released a memory.
Simultaneously, Qoz noticed that an image of a strange Red Human kid appeared in her mind.
He appeared to be around 10 to 12 years old, had crimson hair, white eyes, and an oblong face.
"Have you seen him?" Charles asked.
Qoz frowned for a moment and began to recall her memories.
After thinking for a whole minute, she shook her head.
'As I thought, this is going to be a tough journey.' Charles sighed deeply and asked the following question.
"What do you know about the 'Dawn Child'?"
Just as he asked this question, many white clouds started to gather in Qoz's Inner World.
Dawn Child was the one who used some prophecy-like skill and predicated his arrival 18 years ago!
Although Charles had grown into a powerful Mystic, he didn't dare to take her lightly.
He first wants to gather complete knowledge about this world.
Without any hesitation, the purple Charles waved his hand, conjured a net of purple flame, and completely enveloped the group of clouds.
The next second, Charles received information about the Dawn Child.
'Dawn Child... Her real name is Isla, and she can read other's futures by staring at the crimson sky. She could control a powerful Rank-4 Magma Fiend. She is the main reason for Garath's rapid growth in the Twilight Land. Under her guidance, he rose from Rank-1 Imp to a Rank-4 Elemental Demon. There is also a rumor spreading around the city that Garath had already reached the Rank-5 realm. As for this Dawn Child's real strength, no one really knew. But Qoz once heard from an old Night Goblin that the Dawn Child hasn't aged a bit during the past 200 years.'
As Charles scanned the information, his face changed drastically and soon turned grim.
'This child seems to be a troublesome one.' He frowned for a moment and soon chose to give up on gathering more information about her.
'Erasing too much of her memories is not a good thing. It might expose my memory-burning ability to the enemy.' Charles nodded his head and then asked few more questions about Twilight Land and other places.
Unfortunately, she knew nothing much about the outside world.
Charles then asked about him and then completely erased all the memories about him.
After that, he hurriedly knocked her unconscious and moved towards the goblin kid.
It was a girl child, and her hands appeared thin as fragile sticks.
But he felt something unique about this child.
Without any delay, he checked her status and soon widened his eyes.
Shock and disbelief appeared on his face.
'She has 'Prodigy' level fire elemental affinity? It is second only to the 'Divine' level! Is the World's Will seeking my help?' A frown appeared on his face.
'Does that mean this World's Will is powerful enough to distinguish good and evil? Hmm, it's better not to play safe.'
Nodding inwardly, he took out a reddish ring from his space ring and placed it on his palm.
'Hmm, I don't know what will happen after my future' Death.' But I have a vague feeling that I might be in a most vulnerable state. It's better to create an ally in this world.'
Muttering inwardly, Charles started replicating his important memories in his Inner World, combined them, and soon formed into a minute fragment.
'A memory fragment with a part of my will. Even if I die, this fragment will live for more than ten years. It should be enough to let this child grow stronger and help me in many ways.'
He nodded inwardly, imprinted his memory fragment in the ring, and tossed it towards the goblin child.
The next second, the ring turned illusionary, moved into the dark space, and soon entered the Goblin child's Inner World.
Then, he turned around and walked out of the small hut.

But surrounded by creatures he thought only existed in tales and pressed by the Empire’s constant expansion, Jayce’s safety may be only an illusion. To survive a world fraught with danger Jayce will need to grow stronger with each new experience and rebuild his once forgotten house. ********************************************************************** Note: The story starts slow. Although there is more action as the story progresses, there is a fair amount of introspection and character introduction in the first 30 chapters. Jayce is the main character, however, other characters play a large role and the story is seen through multiple POV's. This is a draft, it is not a finished work. This is not a story that focuses on an OP MC who beats up on weaklings. At times there can be a fair amount of internal monologue. Some of that may be edited out when I rewrite the story. I decided to keep it in the draft because I think it is better to have too much material rather than too little when I edit. Constructive criticism is appreciated as it helps in the editing and rewriting process. Check out my other story Shattered Mind here

Trailblazer
The story of a man who accidentally wrote another world into existence. Everyone breaks away from their mundane daily life in one way or another. Our protagonist, an unfortunate consequence of circumstance, being no different, often escaped the harsh reality of life by writing stories of an alternate world of swords and magic. Though he recognized the difference between reality and fantasy, he could've never imagined what would happen, when the line between the two blurred as lightning struck down from the skies, and his escapism fantasy became all too real... After he came to, he would soon learn that things in the other world aren't quite as he remembered them to be. The world he wrote of had become but a shadow of its former self. Albeit hesitant at first, he sets off on a quest to find out the secrets behind the Trails, yet even then, he can't help but wonder... Can he really bring his world back to its old glory? —————————— I have never written a story before in my life and now I'm doing so in a language I don't natively speak. Groundbreaking quality is probably not something to be expected, but I do my best to keep things readable. With the necessities out of the way, both constructive criticism and other suggestions are very much welcome, and I'll do my best to take them into account when writing future chapters.
