Fire Mage Chapter 324

Chapter 324: Clue
Within a few seconds, Red Prince's body started to turn illusionary and soon disappeared.
Even his consciousness and the soul shard were also erased.
"If I had used the [Erase Existence] spell before he activated the strange pendant, my spell would've gone ineffective." The Holem's Crown said in a solemn tone.
"You mean that his main body can nullify your spell from a faraway plane?" Charles asked in surprise.
Meanwhile, the Holem's Crown let out a deep sigh and spoke.
"It is possible. Anyway, our main goal is achieved. Next, we should go to the Ember Kingdom's capital city and see if we can sneak into Nightwind Family's tower."
On the other hand, Charles frowned a bit and shook his head.
He then descended towards the ground, landed on the ground filled with embers, and asked.
"Using your miracle skill must have some big side effect, right? You still haven't told me why the real Eddie met his end."
The Holem's Crown went silent as it heard his words.
"You are indeed sharp as always. Well, I actually don't plan on hiding it from you anyway." It paused for a moment and then continued.
"Although I'm just borrowing the luck of normal people to create a Miracle, it still can affect the user's future. No, I should say that it only affects a certain future to a high level. For example, you'll bump into some small trouble. Then, the trouble will grow as time passes and formed into an unpredictable danger. That danger would be so high that even these scheming Divines will find it hard to escape."
"Like the time when the real Eddie entered a pocket dimension and finally met the World Eater?" Charles asked.
"Yes. But you don't have to worry too much. The Miracle you cast earlier and the Miracle Eddie cast before his death was completely different. As long as you watch out for any anomalies, you can easily evade this side effect." The Holem's Crown responded in a reassuring tone.
Upon hearing those words, Charles nodded his head and started checking his Fire Domain.
Meanwhile, Oswald flapped the golden wings in the Edhen World and looked at the empty sky with a gloomy look on his face.
Currently, he held his long sword and constantly surveyed the surroundings to see any link to the Fire Domain.

"That brat... Is he really that strong?" He still found it hard to believe.
But as he recalled the Red Prince's earlier words, confusion appeared on his face.
'He said that Charles had grown stronger... Far stronger than what even the Devil had imagined...' Although Oswald had only fought with Red Prince twice, he was well aware of how dangerous that man was.
'Not only his physical body is strong, but even his class skills are also far stronger and mysterious.'
Even if a single drop of his blood remained on the battlefield, the Red Prince would rise again and return to his former state in seconds.
'That guy is more like a parasite... His regenerative power, his soul power, his experience in battle, fate related ability to predict the future, and his strange artifacts, all are very troublesome to deal with. There is also his mind-related ability to distort one's thoughts...' While thinking about how terrifying the Red Prince was, he couldn't help but get anxious inside.
At that moment, a flash of lightning came from the cloudy sky and soon formed into a figure of a black-haired old woman.
"Did you finish him off? Where is Charles?" She asked in confusion.
Upon seeing her arrival, Oswald wasn't surprised even a bit and responded while shaking his head.
"No. Charles is fighting that Devil. He already entered the realm of Pseudo-Legendaries. Get ready to prepare for an ambush."
"What?! He is fighting the Red Prince? Alone?" Rachel's eyes widened.
"As I said, that lad already surpassed us in strength. But if he still got defeated, we've no choice but to use 'that' to give the Red Prince a big surprise." Oswald said as he looked up at the cloudy dark sky and smiled.
Simultaneously, arcs of lightning started to whirl up everywhere and formed into a gigantic neck of reddish lightning!
That was Rachel's real trump card!
It was a unique spell called 'Lightning Net' and had the power equal to Rank-5 spell!
As long as this spell landed on someone, even a pseudo-legendary mage with the physique of 'Semi-Legend' would find it hard to move!
'Although Red Prince has abnormal physique, he still hasn't reached the realm of Semi-Legend.' Oswald muttered inwardly.
On the other hand, Rachel also nodded her head and was about to get ready but suddenly got tensed up.

"I'm sensing a spatial fluctuation. Someone is coming-"
Before she could finish her words, a spatial crack appeared in front of them and soon started to expand.
Simultaneously, a deep-blue-haired young man in his late twenties walked out of it.
Charles looked up at the dark sky, then towards Oswald and Rachel, and finally smiled.
"He is no more." His voice contains a trace of pride.
Upon hearing those words, both Oswald and Rachel got dumbfounded.
A strange silence appeared in the dark sky, followed by a burst of loud laughter.
"Hahaha, here I thought we would face another deadly battle." Rachel said in a loud voice, raised her hand, and dismissed the strange lightning net spell.
On the other hand, Charles turned his gaze towards Oswald and asked.
"What are you going to do, old man? Are you planning to go to the Nightwind Family and tell them to release the Ravel Family members from the dream curse?"
"That won't work. The Nightwind Family has their own magic tower in the capital city and also have some deep ties with the Ember Kingdom's royalties. Do you think they will listen to a Rank-4 nobody?" Oswald shook his head.
"I heard that family also have a Rank-5 Powerhouse. If you guys have any plan on attacking that family, leave me out of this. Although I killed a Rank-5 Metal Dragon, I'm still not powerful enough to face a Rank-5 Mystic." Rachel suddenly interjected their conversation and spoke.
Meanwhile, Charles fell into deep contemplation.
'If I can infiltrate into the magic tower using my shape-shift ability, I can indeed fool everyone and could get my hands on the Darkness Elemental Crystal...' But a strange uneasiness appeared in his mind.
'Hmm, the miracle's side effect might place me in more danger.' After some thoughts, he chose to give up on going after the Nightwind Family.
"I'll then go back to the Iron Kingdom and stay there for a while." He paused for a moment, turned his gaze towards Oswald, and continued.
"You should also do the same, old man. Go back to the family and take care of the family members. As long as you pay some amount to the Dream Church, they might be willing to remove the dream curse."
Upon hearing those words, a trace of disappointment appeared on Oswald's face.
Although he didn't expect any help from his grandson, he still felt somewhat hurt when he saw the indifferent look on Charles's face.
He then let out a deep breath and spoke.
"I've some ties with the Ember Kingdom's ninth prince, Charles. As long as I use his influence, I might get a chance to meet the Nightwind Family head." He paused for a second, flapped the golden wings, and then added.
"I'll be going now."
A second later, he shot towards the sky, circled for a moment, and soon flew towards the southern direction.
In the meantime, Rachel shook her head, turned into a flash of lighting, and moved towards the opposite direction.
Charles hovered in the air for a moment, enveloped his body in a crimson flame, and disappeared from there!
...
The next morning,
Rodsley Street, Nobles' District, City of Iron.
A deep-blue-haired young man suddenly appeared above the mansion building and descended.
He soon landed on the three-storied building's terrace, walked towards the Lawson sofa at the center of the terrace, and sat on it.
Simultaneously, a humanoid flame suddenly appeared next to the sofa and soon formed into a figure of a 25-years-old young woman.
She had long black hair, deep-set jade eyes, an oval face, tan skin, and trimmed thin eyebrows.
Currently, she wore a long black gown and held a golden-covered book in her hand.
She took a step forward, turned her gaze towards Charles, and spoke with a solemn look on her face.
"I got a clue."
Upon hearing those words, a flash of surprise appeared on Charles's face.
He soon turned his face solemnly and nodded.
"Let's go to the underground basement. It's not safe to discuss here."
Saying so, he enveloped his body in a crimson flame and disappeared from there.
Edith also nodded her head and followed after him.
Both soon appeared in the underground basement hall, conjured a few flame balls, and lighted the fire torches.
Simultaneously, the Holem's Crown in Charles's hand was also removed on its own, moved towards the concrete wall, and started strengthening the [Seven Leaf] magic array circle.

Riftwalker
Legend speaks that a roaring force of insatiable abyss lies beneath the peaceful overworld. Named the Rift after its chasm-like entrances, this unexplored void has consumed the underneath for eons. What had seemed just a myth crawled out of unreality in the form of eldritch creatures. Reborn as something not entirely human, mankind rejected the boy. Thrown into the Rift by people who feared him, he had to live in a world run by monsters as a newborn. Surviving, however, wasn't his only difficulty as he soon had to decide whether he would save the people who banished him or simply idle as the Rift engulfed all life. As of chapter 9, Riftwalker is on a very small hiatus. I'm very busy with work atm :( Here are a couple of things to expect: Lots of action and exploration! Diverse and refreshing creatures; There are good and evil. Satisfying progression and coming of age. The protagonist stands out but isn't overpowered. There are some litRPG elements, but it's not a determinant factor. The fights are decided through one's combat skill and experience and not stat-checking. Oh, and some other info: There is a bit of gore, but nothing disturbing. Occasionally, there will be images of the scenery and landscape. Chapters will be around 1,5k to 2k words long, and the releases will probably be relatively slow, sorry.
