Chapter 314: Punishment
Meanwhile, Elder Anthony raised his head, stared into Charles's eyes, and asked.
"What is the second choice?"
A mischievous smile appeared on Charles's face as he heard that question.
"The second choice is actually a good one. I'll not kill your granddaughter." He paused for a moment and then added with an evil smirk,
"But I'll erase every memory about Saron from all of your minds. You won't remember a thing about her. Even if she tries to tell her mother that she is her daughter, her mother will not believe her. Isn't this choice too good?"
"You demon!" Isaiah glared at him hatefully and shouted.
On the other hand, Elder Anthony stood up with some difficulty and sighed.
Just as he was about to answer, walking footsteps came from the entrance hallway.
Soon, a wiry blonde-haired woman in her late twenties entered the reception room.
She had monolid hazel eyes, barely visible eyebrows, a duchess nose, fair skin, and an upper lip with sharp philtrum.
Currently, she wore a long-sleeved shirt and a long black skirt.
As she walked in, her gaze moved towards Isaiah and Elder Anthony and soon landed on Charles.
Unfortunately, she only saw his back and couldn't identify him.
Furrowing her brows, she once again turned her gaze towards her grandfather and noticed something was off about him.
Elder Anthony's face appeared pale, and there were even sweats appeared on his forehead area.
Upon noticing Saron's arrival, he turned around and made a forced smile.
Isaiah also did the same and stealthily gestured her to back away.
A frown appeared on Saron's forehead as she saw their action.
"What happened, father?" While asking, she fastened her footsteps, soon arrived in front of them, and checked her grandfather's condition.
"Well well, isn't this an emotional reunion?" A familiar male voice echoed in her ears, causing her body to stiffen up.

Only then did she turned her gaze towards the new guest and soon froze.
"Charles!" She blurted out in surprise and shock.
She instantly took out an eerie black book from her space ring and then waved her hand.
The next instant, an invisible ripple spread out of her body and enveloped the whole mansion!
Rank-4 Wisdom Power!
Even Elder Anthony was shocked by her strength.
Meanwhile, Charles raised his eyebrows a little and activated [Arcane Eyes] skill on her.
'She indeed became a Rank-4 Mystic. Well, I've long expected this outcome.' He muttered inwardly.
A moment later, a chilling voice echoed in Saron's ears.
"It seems I made the right choice to come here."
Before she could even think, something invisible gripped her neck, raised her upward, and slammed her on the concrete floor!
The attack was too sudden, which caught her completely off-guard!
Elder Anthony soon woke up from the shock and was about to help Saron but stopped.
At that moment, a boundless invisible pressure appeared in the room.
It was so strong that it caused his body to stiffen up.
"Did I give you permission to move?" An icy voice echoed in his ears.
The next moment, Elder Anthony and Isaiah saw that the whole surroundings started to break like glass!
Then, they saw that Charles was standing right next to them!
'W-When did he appear here? Teleportation? N-No! I felt no spatial fluctuation in the air!' Shock and alarm appeared on Elder's face.
Without minding his shocked face, Charles squatted down and stared at Saron with a cold look on his face.
Currently, her face was dyed in reddish blood, and multiple scratches appeared all over her body.
Half of her shirt was already torn apart, while the rest was covered in dust.
Although no severe injury appeared on her body, one could tell that single attack almost terrified her.

She tried to sit, but Charles casually extended his hand, grabbed her long blonde hair, and started dragging her to the nearby sofa.
She tried to scream, but no voice came out of her mouth.
"Eve trusted you." He spoke as he arrived near the sofa, sat on it, and then grabbed her right hand.
"But you betrayed her."
Saying so, he used his full strength and broke her hand.
A shrill cry echoed in the room!
Upon seeing this, Isaiah tried to shout in anger, but no words come out.
It was as if countless invisible threads attached all over his skin and took complete control of his body!
He didn't even have the power blink!
The same goes for Elder Anthony.
Under their watch, Charles conjured a ball of black flame and tossed it towards the broken hand.
In a second, the eerie black flame directly absorbed into her broken hand and started to corrupt from inside!
On the other hand, Charles released her hand, stared into Saron's teary eyes, and spoke.
"This black fire will suck your life force slowly, and infect your body with some incurable diseases. In six months, your skin will turn black in color and started to rot. Organs will fail." He paused for a moment and smiled.
"But I won't let you die easily, Miss Saron. I will come here again, cure your infection before you die, and then let the condition repeat."
Despair appeared on Saron's face.
"KILL ME!" She screamed.
Meanwhile, a smirk appeared on Charles's face.
"Do you think I'm done with you? This is just the start." Saying so, he stood up from the sofa, moved towards Isaiah, and cast [Fire Seed] spell on him.
"Who is she?" He asked him while pointing his finger at Saron.
At that moment, countless memories about his daughter appeared in Isaiah's mind.
But a second later, the [Fire Seed] in his Inner World suddenly expanded and started devouring those memories.
Charles continued to erase memories in Isaiah's Inner World for the next few minutes and then spoke.
"The worst pain isn't being lonely, Miss Saron. It's being forgotten by someone you'd never forget."
"P-Please! Don't do this!" Saron continued to scream, but Charles didn't stop at all.
He completely erased Isaiah's memories about Saron and turned his gaze towards Elder Anthony.
At that moment, tears flow out of Elder Anthony's eyes.
"Please kill her, Your Excellency! T-This punishment is too cruel." He said with a despairing look on his face.
Upon hearing the old man's voice, a deep sigh came out of Charles's mouth.
"Do you think I feel pleasure by doing this? But revenge shouldn't end easily, old man. She must face this punishment for the next ten years." His tone was firm.
Then, he cast [Burning Consciousness] on Elder Anthony and invaded his Inner World.
Upon noticing a foreign consciousness's presence in his Inner World, Elder Anthony let out a bitter laugh and asked.
"I've one final request."
Meanwhile, Charles raised his eyebrows and asked.
"What is it?"
"When you end the punishment, please erase most of her memories and let her life a new life." Elder Anthony said in a begging tone.
On the other hand, Charles thought for a moment and nodded.
"I'll think about it." Saying so, he asked questions about Saron and started erasing his memories.

But Emiluna is not a normal girl and her destiny far bigger than she could have ever imagined.Join her as she finds out what awaits just behind the horizon.[Word from the author]I am looking to create a fantasy world that has some logic to it and stays believable even as characters gain power and progress in levels.Classes and level quantify the people's progress, but they do not artificially inflate their power to demi-god levels. I am primarily trying to write a captivating story, not "power-porn". That means it will be slower than the fast burning litRPG you might be used to, but it won't burn out that quickly either and I won't drop half of my plots at the wayside. I should mention that English is not my native language. I hope it is mostly unnoticeable, but sometimes I manage to slip some awkard sentence structure in there (German sometimes puts things together in reverse). It it also my first time writing an actual fantasy novel and the first time writing anything at length in English. Any constructive feedback is very welcome.Credit where credit is due: Cover picture by Paul Bica (Licensed under CC 2.0)Check out his amazing photos here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dexxusYes, my cover picture is a photo, not a drawing. :D I might try my hand at some Paint-ification later to add the title.[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
