Chapter 310: Realization

At that moment, shock appeared on the fake Jessie's face.

"The earrings must be the reason you manage to control this Inner World and suppressed Jessie's main consciousness, right?" Charles asked in a cold tone.

Just as he finished his words, the whole Inner World trembled.

A second later, a whirly blonde-haired young woman suddenly appeared in the sky and stared at the fake Jessie with a hateful gaze.

Jessie then waved her hand and attacked her before her second consciousness could wake up from the shock.

Countless chains made of crystalline blood popped up from the ground, moved towards the sky, and slithered around her legs, hands, and body.

In less than two seconds, the evil consciousness was completely imprisoned!

But at that moment, her second consciousness stealthily erased some important information about how she became corrupted!

In truth, she had suppressed Jessie and imprisoned her and the third consciousness in the farther end of the Inner World.

But after Charles took off the earrings, Jessie somehow gained complete control over her Inner World, escaped from her imprisonment, and ruined her plan.

On the other hand, Jessie looked at her second consciousness and felt deep fear towards it.

'That was close.' Cold sweats appeared on her forehead.

'I should erase her now.' Multiple blades and spears made of blood suddenly appeared in the sky and encircled the evil consciousness.

As she was about to erase the evil consciousness, Charles raised his head, looked at her, and spoke.

"Do not kill her. Just erase some of her memories. After that, you can modify her and turn into a controllable consciousness."

Although Jessie couldn't understand his intention, she reluctantly nodded and did as he told her.

Then, her whole body stiffened.

Confusion, shock, and panic surfaced on her face!

"My memories are disappearing... No, something is altering my memories!" She got panicked.

"I have a guess," Charles spoke as he rose to the sky and asked.

"Did you consume the [Knowledge Seeker] class gem?"

"Yes." An instant response came out of Jessie's mouth.

Charles nodded his head in understanding and spoke.

"Close your eyes and look for the place where your memories are disappearing."

To his surprise, she didn't ask him a single question and did as he told her.

She soon raised her hand, pointed it in a random direction, and spoke.

"I sense an anomaly over there."

Saying so, she grabbed her second consciousness, arrived beside Charles, placed her hand on his shoulder, and teleported.

A moment later, they appeared at the center of a large crater, filled with blood tails and bones, and looked around.

Jessie then raised her hand, pointed her finger in a particular direction, and spoke.

"It's there. Wait... I forgot something."

Jessie's expression turned into a confused one.

Meanwhile, Charles zeroed his gaze on the particular area and saw a strange cloud-like thing.

It was an eerie black smoke!

The smoke started corrupting the nearby memories, blood trails, corpses, bones, and skulls!

But what made him feel confused was that the corrupted memories seemed to have been induced by deep emotions all of a sudden!

But before he could study the strangeness, all those corrupted black smokes moved towards the original smoke-like energy and absorbed with it!

Some smokes remained in the same place and started corrupting the normal blood and corpses.

'The invisible dark energy... I felt this same dark feeling when I try to rank up to an Ember Wizard.' A grim look appeared on his face.

He conjured a ball of purple flame, shaped it into a sword, and held it in his hand.

At that moment, Jessie looked around in confusion and soon said with a hint of fear in her eyes.

"Oh no! My memories are altering in multiple places... No, my third consciousness!" She suddenly cried out in shock.

Upon hearing her words, Charles's expression turned grave.

He then raised his hand, aimed at the direction where the eerie black smoke, and hurled his sword.

His purple sword moved like a bolt and directly collided with the black cloud with a whooshing sound!

The next instant, both his purple flame sword and the black smoke devoured each other and disappeared!

But what shocked him most was that black smoke actually stored a tiny bit of wisdom power!

During the past few years, he had learned that wisdom power was created through one's deep emotions.

'Whenever someone feels intense emotions, they would release a cloud of energy into the atmosphere. Those energies are the main essence of wisdom power. But there are some exceptions. When someone's life moments became so precious, their memories along with the energy also absorbed into one's Inner World and stays there for a long time...'

'That's how I rarely obtain one or two Wisdom Points when erasing someone's memories. But this one is completely different. This dark cloud is actually inducing Jessie's every memory and turned them into precious life moments. Those precious life moments then started releasing positive and negative emotions. Meanwhile, Charles glanced at the surroundings and soon saw countless dark smokes were moving in their direction!

Upon seeing such terrifying eerie smokes, Jessie's face went pale in fright.

"What the hell are those?" She couldn't help but ask.

On the other hand, Charles's face turned icy cold.

"That's what happens when you Rank Up without knowing the consequences. Although I have the power of Rank-4 Mage, I won't be able to erase all those smokes without doing considerable damage to your Inner World." He paused for a moment and added.

"Don't panic and stay where you are. I will take care of the rest."

Saying so, he first conjured flames and created a large purple flame dome around them!

It was so large that it enveloped all of Jessie's memories inside the dome!

'As long as these purple flames didn't touch her memories, nothing will happen to her.' Charles nodded his head, moved out of the dome, and raised his hand.

Then, he conjured fire seeds continuously and sent them towards all parts of her Inner World.

At that moment, many fire seeds also met with those eerie black clouds and started colliding with them.

Within a minute, Jessie's whole Inner World started burning!

One hour later, Charles stood in the middle of purple flames and glanced around.

Unlike before, no corpses, blood, skull, or bones appeared in his sight.

Instead, the whole world was completely turned into an empty one.

Barren land and craters were the only things that appeared all over the places!

'I'm also at my limit.'

Charles erased those purple flames from all parts of the Inner World and turned his gaze towards the dome-shaped purple fire.

Then, he used his thoughts and erased the dome.

Meanwhile, Jessie sat on the ground and wore a pale expression on her face.

Although she managed to escape from turning into a Distorted Shadow, she received a severe backlash!

Once noticing that the dome was disappearing, she stood up with her staggering footsteps and looked around.

Currently, her whole Inner World appeared more like a desolated place!

On the other hand, Charles moved towards her and spoke.

"Don't worry about the losses. This world is nothing but your own imagination. As long as you put some time, you can create a completely new world."

Saying so, he started to burn in a purple flame and soon disappeared.

Meanwhile, a bitter smile appeared on Jessie's face.

After that, she waved her hand and sent all her memories into different parts of her Inner World.

She then turned her gaze towards her second consciousness and started to ponder.

'Should I erase her and create a consciousness myself? Or should I modify her?' After thinking for a while, she chose to erase most of this consciousness's memories and modify them into a completely different one.

'As for third consciousness, it's completely gone. I can only create a clone myself and manage it.' She let out a deep sigh and started to work.

In the physical world,

Charles stood next to Jessie during the past one hour and received information from his burning consciousness from time to time.

Once he learned that everything was over, he nodded his head and spoke.

"She is fine now. Tell her to not act rashly again."

Saying so, he cast [Flame Teleportation] spell on himself and disappeared from there, leaving Rhea and others in the royal garden.

Even the smart child Jessie got fooled by her own consciousness.' He sighed deeply, moved towards the dark sky, and started comprehending the [Finger of Needle] spell model.
