Chapter 283: Visit
"Have you seen him upfront, Your Eminence?" Jessie asked while storing the sealed letter into her space ring.
"You mean Charles? Yeah, he is mysterious and a smart kid." Abel said with a sigh and stood up from his seat.
"Don't forget to give the letter." He paused for a moment and soon added.
"Although I don't know why the Churches are so firm on conducting the ceremony sooner, it's better for you guys to co-operate with them."
Jessie went silent as she heard those words.
'Something feels off…. Is something big going to happen? Is that why Teacher went away to search for Charles? Why did the Churches forcing us? Wait… What if our Teacher actually wants to delay the coronation ceremony?' Her face flashed in surprise.
'It is possible.' Her second and third consciousnesses also thought the same!
'Yes, I almost forgot what Teacher asks me to do.'
She recalled something and asked.
"What about Lady Emilia and her friends? Are they still in the city?"
Her question surprised Abel a bit.
"Yes, I heard that she went with her teammate to do some mission. They might return within a day or two. What happened?" He asked.
Meanwhile, Jessie smiled mysteriously and asked another strange question.
"Your Eminence, have you met the late Archbishop Royce? What do you know about him?"
Although Abel got startled by her question, he didn't put much thought into it and responded.
"I only heard about him once from Emilia. A few years ago, he visited Riverdale City and met with Emilia and her teammates. She said that guy talked nicely to everyone and even gave a few gifts for her teammates."
Upon hearing those words, Jessie was stunned inside.
'Teacher asked me to probe that any of the Life Church member had met with Archbishop Royce in the past… But I didn't expect its Lady Emilia and her teammates….'
Meanwhile, Archbishop Abel was confused by her question and asked.
"Why are you asking about him all of a sudden?"
"It's nothing, Your Eminence. I heard that Archbishop put a curse on Charles a few years ago and got curious about the reason behind their enmity." Jessie responded calmly and sat on the nearby couch.

Meanwhile, Archbishop nodded his head and added.
"I think it's time for me to leave. See you at the ceremony."
Then, he moved towards the exit and soon left the reception hall.
On the other hand, Jessie leaned her back against the sofa and coughed twice.
"That darned old man…."
'I'm too weak.' She gritted her teeth in anger.
'Being weak isn't a sin. But staying weak is one.' Her second consciousness spoke coldly in her mind.
'But that would mean I have to kill others.' She still remembered the moment when she killed the Divine Order member and felt uneasy.
'So what? You already sacrificed your soft side to protect others, right? Although our Teacher is protecting us now, we shouldn't always rely on him.' Her second consciousness said.
'What are you trying to say?' Jessie frowned.
'Rank up. Find a way to increase our soul power and become a peak Rank-3 [True Wiser] Mystic. We already got the Rank-4 [Knowledge Seeker] Class Gem from Bishop Myles. So, we should focus on improving your strength and rank up.' Her second consciousness spoke.
'But [Reader] class is not suitable for combat.' Jessie couldn't help but sigh.
'I don't think so. Each Class is unique on its own. Currently, we have [Instant Memory] skill, two extra Perfect consciousnesses, and [Brainstorm] skill. With the Brainstorm skill, we are capable of solving complex problems with simple clues. We are also good at sensing the upcoming danger through gathered information.'
'For example, we feel that something is manipulating behind the scenes, right? The Churches' strange actions, our Teacher's sudden disappearance, and this old man's appearance… The opposite party wants us to conduct the ceremony… But somehow, our Teacher must have anticipated this and seems to be making preparations for any unexpected situation. This skill is capable of warning us about future danger! Our Teacher once said that we could toy with our enemies as long as we use this power properly….'
As Jessie heard the second consciousness's words, a look of realization appeared on her face.
'Yes, I should focus on increasing my strength. If I use the [Blood Curse] skill properly, I can create a powerful, shadowy organization and use others' strength to protect us.' A firm resolution appeared in her mind.

At that moment, walking footsteps came from the entrance, causing her to turn around.
Soon, Jessie saw a slim woman in her red sheath dress was walking towards her from the entrance.
The woman had long silvery hair, a pear-shaped body, a pale face, oceanic eyes, a hawk nose, and appeared around 25 years old.
Upon seeing her appearance, a smile appeared on Jessie's face.
She hurriedly stood up from the couch and soon groaned as she felt deep pain from all parts of her body.
Thankfully, she managed to endure the pain and spoke with a forced smile on her face.
"Greetings, Lady Bella."
"Greetings, Jessie." Bella also waved her hand with a smile, arrived near her, and sat on the nearby sofa.
Then, she looked at Jessie up and down and frowned.
"Are you injured?" She asked in a concerned tone.
Meanwhile, Jessie smiled lightly and shook his head.
"It's nothing serious."
Then, she looked into Bella's oceanic eyes and stared at her in confusion.
Currently, it was already 6 P.M.
So, her sudden arrival made her feel something was amiss.
Noticing her gaze, Bella let out a chuckle and spoke.
"I came here to get this month's materials. It's the four Elemental creatures' carcasses."
Upon hearing her words, Jessie raised her right hand, placed it over her forehead, and sighed.
"Oops! I actually forgot to send them to the auction. Wait here for a while, Lady Bella. I will go and get it in a minute."
Saying so, she stood up from her seat and started walking towards the bifurcated staircase.
In truth, Jessie had a total of more than 20 carcasses in her other space rings and void pouches, and she would never forget to send four Rank-3 Elemental Creatures' carcasses to the auction house.
'This is the first time I forgot something important….' She frowned at her unusual behavior and fastened her footsteps.
While walking, she took out a low-rank healing potion from her space ring, opened the vial, and gulped it down.
Meanwhile, Bella watched Jessie's figure moving upstairs from the reception hall and looked around casually.
Two young maids stood on the left side corner of the reception hall and seemed to be chattering about a particular maid.
Although they were speaking in a low tone, Bella heard every word that came out of their mouth.
She then turned her gaze towards the right side and saw a woman in a black gown was cleaning the right-side corridor using a broom.
At that moment, Bella's oceanic eyes turned abnormally black.
It was as if someone else possessed her body!
Exactly two seconds later, Ashley walked out of the kitchen, turned her gaze towards those two chattering maids, and scolded.
"What are you two mumbling over there?! Don't you have any other work to do? Come here and help me peel off the onions."
Both of those maids shrink back a little as they heard Ashley's sudden outburst and hurriedly ran into the kitchen.
Then, Ashley turned her gaze towards the sweeping female servant and spoke.
"Laura, can you go and clean the second floor first? There is a guest in the reception hall."
The female servant stopped sweeping the floor, straightened her back, looked at Ashley, and nodded her head.
"I'll go now, ma'am."
Saying so, the female servant took the broomstick and hurriedly moved towards the second floor through the bifurcated staircase.
On the other hand, Ashley turned around and started walking into the kitchen.
A moment later, Bella's lips suddenly go upward.
She then took out an eerie red card from her space ring and threw it upward.
The next second, the card flew upward, moved towards the right side corridor, moved towards one of the wooden doors, and slips into a guest room through a small gap!

I Need Time
An action, adventure, mystery and strategy story about a strong male lead. Author note: First time author, good amount of buffer chapters (over 50k words) so I will not drop this book anytime soon. This book will mostly be from the perspective of the MC. On average +5k words will be published per week. I have not chosen some of the genres and tags as I do not wish to give away parts of the story. I added the content warning tags as there will come a time for profanities, gore and maybe "traumatising" content. Though, in my opinion the content will be mild if not light. *****SPOILER*****SPOILER***** Synopsis: A college ICT student transmigrates to another world filled with magic and learns magic from a dragon. MC uses modern knowledge to develop magitech technology. MC starts his adventure using the technology he develops! Saving princesses, fighting hidden criminal organizations, learning how horribly medieval peasants live, reasoning with uneducated narrow minded people, investigating the nature of magic and searching for gods... Story review: A fantasy/sci-fi story filled with some common cliches yet presents somewhat original ideas and a few unexpected twists & turns here and there. This novel also explores a few of the commonly ignored topics concerning medieval fantasy like hygiene, culture, education(ignorance, narrow mindedness) and the fact that everybody is short because magical crops cost too much. Modern knowledge in such a setting can often times revolutionize the world if the protagonist is not an idiot or weak willed or thinks something stupid like he should not intervene in a society that systematically practices unequality of opportunity, slavery and other nasty things, of course sometimes the protagonist can be just unlucky by being enslaved, etc. In our case we are granted a protagonist who had an initial stroke of luck, learning magic from a dragon instead of struggling for years without it or randomly dieing. After that his luck goes down the drain. It is arguable whether the princess is a good stroke of luck or not, I digress. Anyway the challenges the protagonist must face will grow and no more luck or helping hands. After gaining enough power and security the protagonist will change the world for the better or at least give it a stronge push onto the right track. He will make a lot of lives better but things are never so simple and there is much more to this world than meets the eye... Missing genres & tags: Fantasy, Sci-fi, Magic. *****SPOILER*****SPOILER*****
