Chapter 245: Weaknesses
Black Tower,
It was around 4 A.M.
Marissa once again returned to Vivian's room and gave a potion for Charles to drink.
To his surprise, he noticed that the black marks began to fade a little. After giving some advice, Marissa took a few drops of blood from his body and left in a hurry.
For the next few days, she did many experiments using his flesh and blood and finally managed to concoct a potion that could completely erase the marks on his back using potions!
Although Charles was the one who deliberately created those marks to improve his disguise further, he didn't expect that there would be a powerful alchemist hidden in the enemy side to erase such marks.
Two weeks passed in a blink of an eye.
During the two weeks, Charles spent most of his time in his Inner World and focused his full attention on the 'Present Time.'
His new [Accelerate Thoughts] improved a lot by the end of the second week.
If he activates this skill in the outside world, he could think three times faster than normal for 15 seconds.
Unfortunately, this skill also had a cool-down of 20 minutes.
Otherwise, he could continuously use this skill, observe the enemy's moves clearly and even kill a Peak Level Rank-4 Existence without any difficulty!
Still, his other skills like [Wisdom Sight] and [Foresight] skills could make up for this weakness.
Currently, Charles sat on the soft bed and was in the middle of checking his body condition.
After fourteen days of treatment, his female-looking body was completely healed.
Not even a single black mark appeared on his back!
'Marissa said that I could walk out of my room from today onwards… But Louise told me to refrain from going back to the City for the reconnaissance mission. But it is impossible to stay here like Marissa due to the strange set of rules created by the Demi-Lich. Each official member must return to the positioned area and continue their work. Or, they have to do other missions….'
'Vivian's job is to get the enslaved children from Divine Order members and bring them to Low Woods. That's where one of the secret teleportation circles to this Black Tower was located. Although I'm ready to go out, Louise won't agree for now.' He couldn't help but shake his head a little as he thought of that overprotective Teacher of Vivian.

'No, she acts more like an overprotective mother.' Charles let out a chuckle and entered his Inner World.
At that moment, the clone Charles stood near the lava pool and was holding an illusionary black book.
Noticing his arrival, he nodded his head, gave the illusionary book to Charles, and disappeared from there.
On the other hand, Charles caught the book, flipped it open, and started to read.

'For me, killing Louise is not a big problem. Next is Marissa… Although it will be tricky to handle her, I can succeed if I made a perfect plan. But the main problem is the big boss… The hidden undead skeleton… I heard that he always stays in the underground level-0 and is very difficult to even see him. Only Louise, Marissa, Ivy, and two others can meet him whenever they want.'
'As for other Rank-3 and a few Rank-4 members like Vivian? I don't think I can handle all of them at once. Hmm, I have to start this assassination before the Divine could perceive the changes in others' Fate.'
During all this time, he had been hiding his true goal in this Inner World and evading the Divine's eyes.
'But once I made a move on any one of these Rank-4 members, that sneaky Divine will notice the anomaly and screw up my plan. My actual goal is not only to make Rhea become the Queen but also to capture the 'Divine' itself. But before capturing, I need to cripple this Divine's personal strength.' Charles knew that he was taking a big risk here.

'But as long as I manage to achieve all these, I'll be the winner.'
While thinking, he flew towards the System Cube and started comprehending the present Time.
'Hmm, I can maintain the 'Decelerate Time' for one minute in my Inner World. But there is still a long way for me to replicate the 'Time Stop' ability here.'
Charles continued to train for the next few hours and finally left his Inner World.
He then opened his eyes, stood up from the bed, and wore an ordinary black gown.
Then, he also applied some makeup, applied the Bronze Lady perfume, and walked out of the hall-like room.
After that, he casually moved to each floor, talked to Vivian's friends and other disciples, and even gave a warning about being careful of the terrifying black-haired woman.
Around 6 P.M, he returned to the hall-like room and soon saw Louise, who sat on the bed with a serious look on her face.
'This is not how a 500+ years old woman should act… Wait. Perhaps, she noticed something odd about me and is acting now? No way. There has to be other reason for her strange behavior….'
While thinking, he went near her and asked with a serious look on his face.
"What happened, Teacher?" His feminine voice contains a trace of worry and anxiety.
Meanwhile, Louise let out a deep sigh and shook her head.
"As per the rules, you have to complete a mission within 30 days. And, I asked Cedric and got a mission for you. Unlike the other mission, this one is very safe." Saying so, she took out a black scroll and gave it to him.
"Safe one?" Charles raised his eyebrows in suspicion, opened the scroll, and checked the content about this mission.
'Then, why are you showing such a serious face?'
"Yes, you have to go to Rich Woods and bring the gathered rats from Divine Order's hideout."
'Rats… Is she talking about Children?' His expression turned serious.
"You have to be real quick. Teacher Reid seems to have gotten a breakthrough in his research and is in dire need of experimental subjects. As long as you bring these rats, you might get a chance to meet him in person." Louise said in a serious tone and stood up from the bed. Then, she stepped on the concrete floor, moved towards the exit, and soon stopped before turning around.
"Be careful of any anomalies. If you feel meet some unexpected accidents, you can withdraw from there. I will explain to my Teacher."
Saying so, she walked out of the room and disappeared from his vision.
Meanwhile, Charles let out a deep sigh, raised his smooth hand, and rubbed his chin.
'I should use this opportunity to go back to the mansion and check if everything is going smoothly.'
Then, he moved towards the nearby room and started packing his things.
Once he was done, he walked out of Vivian's room and soon moved out of the black tower.
Then, he glanced at the mountain-like surroundings and got curious about the actual location of this hideout.
'Although the main entrance to this tower is in Whisper Valley, I can tell that this place is somewhere else.' Shaking his head, he walked past the huts, tents, and houses, arrived in front of a strange black pillar, and recited a chant in 'Nether' language.
The next instant, he felt that the whole surroundings began to distort and soon sucked him into the void.
A moment later, Charles noticed that he already appeared in a gloomy underground cavern and heaved a sigh of relief.
After glancing around for a moment, he walked out of the cavern and soon furrowed his brows as he saw the dusk light from the western direction.
Without any delay, he tapped the new bracelet on his right hand and activated the wing spell.
The next instant, two illusionary wings appeared behind his and flapped on their own.
In a blink, Charles shot towards the sky and soon moved towards the northern direction.

Cinder Souls II
Dark Souls is known as one of the hardest game series to have ever existed and with the third installment of Dark Souls, being Dark Souls 3, the makers of the game decided to not make another. With the licensing of the game being put into limbo, a game company called Virtual World decided to buy the right to make another game in the series, this game was called Cinder Souls. Something was different about this game compared to the rest of the series and that was it is on the World Gear, a device that put your consciousness inside of the game and gave you complete control of your character's body. This game exploded and sold over 5 million copies in the first week since it had something other games didn't. Freedom. You could do 18+ actions, take over kingdoms, destroy guild bases entirely, and even rob NPCs. Of course there are laws in certain areas that prohibited certain actions but that all depended on what guild was in control of the land you are at. There are 4 continents with there being several countries dividing each continent into different sections and each having their own difficulties. The strongest continent of them all is Land of the Gods, which only the most legendary of players can enter and become apart of. It is a small island which only has 10 inhabitants but these 10 people could easily take over any other continent on the planet but decide to lay dormant on the island, waiting for something strong to spice up the game. Each of these 10 players is considered a God in the game and even have their own following base. Each God had major influence over the millions of other players in the game but that was all in the past. Now it is time for an update, a completely new world with new enemies and new beginnings for all and that update is coming soon. Its supposed to arrive in one day in fact. This update would have new quests and new adventures and the game title will be changed to Cinder Souls II, whether you kept your character or not is unknown but what was known was that the real world was excited for this. Since it was an update, you didn't have to repurchase the game so old players began to dust off their old copies and prepare for the copious amounts of fun in store for them. This story follows one of the best players to have ever graced the game, Frew, the God of Miracles, and his new adventures but it is not as expected. Not one of the 14 million players could expect what would be coming up next in Cinder Souls II nor would anyone be prepared for it. *****WARNING, IF YOU ARE HERE FOR THE VIRTUAL REALITY ASPECT IT IS NEXT TO NONE EXISTANT EXCEPT FOR CHAPTERS IN THE FAR FUTURE***** For the original cover picture, check out this link! ----> https://www.pinterest.com/pin/420875527667199123

Trials of a Magic Core
He was brave, and noble, and true. He was also a hunk of crystal floating in a magical circle, brought into existence by the self-styled "Greatest Magus of All Time" to be his personal intelligent magical encyclopedia, filled with every minutiae of the arcane this Magus could stuff into it, all ready and accessible at a moment's notice. But is simply knowing all there is to life? Can he strive for more? Should he? (Writer's Note:) I'm a pretty new writer, so expect delays, errors, inconsistent logic, plot holes the size of a small 4-wheeled vehicle, and a distinct lack of snark. At least from the MC. Also, yes, the cover is an image I made in paint. I have...NO artistic skills. It is a placeholder. Also, I came up with this idea in the shower after a nine-hour RRL binge. SO BEAR WITH ME.

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
