Chapter 238: Shape-Shift
Charles placed the soul orb on Vivian's forehead area and activated it using his wisdom power.
The next instant, the soul orb sends out a dazzling white light and directly pulled an illusionary humanoid fog from Vivian's body.
A moment later, the small grey orb began to glow in greenish color for a moment and returned to normal.
At that moment, the connection between Vivian's soul and her body has been completely cut off!
'It's over.' Charles picked up the orb, removed her dress and artifacts, and then stored her naked body in a separate space ring.
After that, he linked his mind with the new identity imprint and then looked at his own female-looking body.
He was still in Edith's appearance.
Letting out a deep sigh, Charles touched his smooth face and started changing his appearance into Vivian's one.
A few seconds later, he changed his appearance into a silver-haired woman and also changed his dress as Vivian's one.
He then stood at the center of the underground basement hall and appeared to be in deep thoughts.
'Vivian likes to use a peculiar body spray called Bronze Lady… I should apply a faint amount of this perfume on my body.' He nodded inwardly, took out a glass bottle filled with strange liquid, and started applying lightly.
'Next part is about a severe burn wound… Although it will be painful, I think I can manage it for the next few days.' Muttering inwardly, Charles conjured a giant ball of crimson flame, compressed it into a sharp sword-like fire, and used his wisdom power to control.
Under his control, the long crimson sword moved towards the front, then turned around while pointing the tip at Charles's abdomen and suddenly flew towards him!
'The hardest thing is not harming others, but harming one's self.' Gritting his teeth, he controlled the flame sword and let it stab into his abdomen!
Even though his body was fused with fire elements, the flame sword didn't face any resistance, directly pierced into the non-vital area, and soon appeared on his backside.

A flesh-burning smell appeared in the hall as he dismissed the flame sword and gashed his teeth in pain.
Tears also appeared from his eyes, but he endured the pain, closed his eyes, and concentrated his full attention on his body.
At that moment, drops of red blood fell from his abdomen while painting his dress and the concrete floor.
'I need to stop the blood.' Charles raised his hand, conjured a ball of Rank-1 [Blue Cure] spell, and applied it on the wounded area.
Unlike Rank-2 or Rank-3 [Soul Heal] spell, this one wasn't powerful enough to cure deep wounds.
But this flame was more than enough to block the broken blood vessels and heal the superficial areas.
Within a few minutes, the wounds started to turn dry, and the blood flow also stopped around the wounded area.
Then, he hurriedly took out an ointment cup from Vivian's space ring and began to apply it to the wounded area.
'But the internal injuries will turn into a severe problem if left untreated. I only have two days. Any more than that, I have to secretly use the [Soul Heal] spell and cure it… But that will cause some suspicion.' He didn't dare to delay any longer as he cast [Flame Teleportation] spell on himself and disappeared from there.
…
A moment later, he reappeared in a small hut and checked the surroundings using wisdom power.
'Everything is going well. When the dusk arrives, I will walk out of this house stealthily and leave some trails for Louise to find me.' He thought as he sat on the stone slab and patiently waited for the dusk.
…
Meanwhile, Oswald sat in the main hall and was in the middle of writing mystical runal characters in the air.
Whenever he writes a character, that single character would move towards the nearby silver dagger and merge into the sharp edge.
He was currently in the process of creating an artifact!

He was sealed in the crown during all this time and didn't have a physical body to create any artifacts.
Even when he used his possession method, he didn't have much control over the foreign body.
But this old body was completely different!
'I can indeed create an artifact. If I could successfully create an Extraordinary Dagger, Charles really might help me get a physical body. He needs my knowledge and experience while I need his help to create a real body. It's a win-win situation.' He couldn't help but show a slight grin on his face.
At that moment, a blonde-haired young man came from the second floor through the bifurcated staircase and soon reached the main hall.
He had a muscular body, brown eyes with thick eyelashes, dark eyebrows, glowing skin, broad shoulders, and a smooth face. His blonde hair was neatly combed, and the callous in his palms appeared rougher like stones.
He wore an old linen shirt and pants, appeared to be around 18 years old, and held a sheathed long sword in his right hand.
He was none other than Noel!
Once he noticed Oswald's presence in the reception hall, he hurriedly walked near him and greeted him.
"Good Evening, Teacher."
On the other hand, Oswald didn't even look at him and continued writing the strange characters in the thin air.
Just when Noel was about to turn around, Oswald stopped his hand movement and glanced at him.
"How is your training?"
"It's going good, Teacher," Noel responded with a grin, hurriedly went towards the nearby sofa, and sat on it.
Then, he leaned his body against Oswald's sofa and asked in a low voice.
"Teacher, should I also choose to become a Dual Class Mystic?"
"Oh? What changed your mind?" Oswald couldn't help but show a curious glanced at him.
Meanwhile, Noel hesitated for a moment before he let out a deep sigh and spoke.
"Titus also said that he wants to become a Dual-Class Mystic to increase his chance of survival during battles."
A flash of surprise appeared on Oswald's face.
But soon, he shook his head and spoke with a thoughtful look on his face.
"He is not like you, Noel. Titus's shadow affinity is not that high and his growth came to halt because of his soft character. It would take more than a few decades for him to become a Rank-4 [Shadow Walker]. That's why he must have thought of choosing a sub-class to make up for his weakness." Oswald suddenly paused for a moment and asked.
"Which Class is he going to choose?"
Noel frowned for a moment and soon shook his head.
"I don't know. But Jessie firmly told him not to another class."
As Oswald heard those words, he couldn't help but smile.
"Don't worry about him. Although his talent isn't like others, he is a hardworking lad. He might surpass everyone one day." He deliberated for a moment and soon added.
"If you really want to choose a second class, choose it after you become a Rank-4 [Master Swordsman]."
At that moment, he suddenly sensed a few presences walking from the entrance door and turned around his head.
The first one who appeared in his sight was a woman with curly black hair, a slightly wrinkled face, and grey eyes.
Behind her was a 30-year old looking bald man with an average look and a long brown-haired old man in a blue surcoat.
The brown-haired old man appeared to be around 60 to 70 years old and gave off a threatening aura around him!
'Emilia Wilson… That young baldy is Andrew Harris… And, the brown-haired old man is Archbishop Abel from Life Church….' Oswald's expression turned grim.

Enigma's Multiverse: Rewrite
This novel was rewritten with the following goals in mind: -A 'human' MC, that struggles underneath the weight of his past emotions and slowly grows as a person as he deals with past trauma and regret. A relatable protagonist whose actions are in line with his motivations, who may be amiable or ruthless depending on the stakes presented. (Caucasian male protagonist, set in the modern world with alien 'induction' into the cultivation world.) - Competent antagonists that have their own goals and ambitions, instead of always targeting the MC for plot convenience. - An original cultivation system. - Interesting and well fleshed out enemy archetypes. - Hell mode challenge right off the bat. - Lots of action and fighting with psychological elements. - My vision of what a cultivation novel should be like. This is the rewrite of the original Enigma's Multiverse, the first version reads more like a skeleton or a first draft as it was my very first work and I've come a long way since then. A lot of things from the original will be tweaked/enhanced, so it might just end up as a completely different work. Cover Credits- Instagram @just_anime_art_things
