Child Of Destiny Chapter 506

...
Boom!
Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, the three chiefs of the Hand of Midas Trading Firm were currently dealing with Immortal Apostles.
These three were totally outnumbered by the apostles.
The first five apostles alone were already a handful even for them. And if they add the remaining seven, then it was quite obvious that they were going to be at a huge disadvantage in this fight even though most of their opponents were already exhausted from their battle against Arthur and Leonard.
Fortunately, their only job was to make sure that these guys were not going to get past them nor interrupt the ongoing battle of the titans on the other side.
Having that in mind, three immediately made their respective moves.
First, Adept Hands took out a bunch of flasks from her alchemist's belt before throwing all of them at the group in front of them.
Seeing the flask flying towards them, the apostles either moved away or hit those flasks midair out of their instincts.
Bang! Bang!
But when those flasks were broken, all of them exploded successively and created a cloud of smoke that immediately spread around the group, blocking their visions.
Seeing that, the third apostle quickly spread out his huge fan before waving it in a powerful manner, sending out a strong gust of wind that swept away the cloud of smoke surrounding them.
But they were immediately greeted by a stunning sight when the cloud of smoke was swept away by that gusting wind.
They found themselves trapped inside the strange cage that came out of nowhere. There were a group of mental beams planted on the ground surrounding them while some steel wires were tied on each of those beams, connecting them from one to another.
Crackle! Crackle!
From time to time, a loud crackling sound could be heard from those steel wires due to the electric current that was flowing on them.
And since those metal beams were extending all the way up on the ceiling, the group couldn't find any opening that they could use as an exit.
"Well, that should be enough to prevent them from escaping, right?" said Black Hammer while rubbing his hands together.
"Tsk! You are talking as if you are the one who did all the work," sneered Melody while retrieving the leftover steel wires with a wave of her hands.
On the other hand, Adept hands were currently counting something with her fingers before saying with a dejected tone. "Sigh~! I just burned another 20,000 gold coins. Why is my job so expensive?"
Meanwhile, the apostles were currently busy trying to break free from the cage trapping them. But no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't break the mental beams nor cut the steel wires tied on them.

Neither of the physical attacks nor magical spells was working against that cage. There was also a magical spell reinforcing the care that was preventing the group from using any kind of summoning spells. So, it was pretty much impossible for them to escape from this strange cage at this point in time.
Boom!
Swoosh!
Then everyone suddenly stopped moving when they sensed an explosion of power coming from the hall beyond the corridor.
At the same time, they could also feel a group of powerful beings present in that place.
"Looks like our jobs here are already done," said Melody with a tone as if she was complaining; she felt that there was really no meaning in coming to this place.
"So, are we going to leave now?" said Adept Hands as if she couldn't wait to leave this place as soon as possible. Or to be more precise, she was not willing to stay here any longer because she was not willing to 'spend' more money on this 'meaningless' battle.
"Should we take away these things then?" said Black Hammer as he looked at the 'busy' group behind the cage.
On the other hand, the battles on the other side were also halted due to the sudden appearance of those auras.
"That is earlier than expected. It thought those guys outside will break the barrier first before the ceremony is completed," said Arthur while distancing himself away from the group of sand soldiers chasing after him.
"Well, that's still good news of us since we can finally get rid of our current restrictions," he added with a sneering tone.
After that, he turned his head towards Harmony and the others while saying. "Oi! We are going all-out now, so you better brace yourselves for some impact."
Overhearing that, Leonard immediately understood his intention and quickly smirked. "So, are we going to blow this place up?"
Quickly after saying that, Arthur and Leonard simultaneously distanced themselves from their respective opponents before activating their own Elemental Possession at the same time.
"It's time for some explosion, Vulcan!"
"Come forth, Lavi!"
Shouting the names of their respective Elemental Spirits, a pair of huge silhouettes simultaneously appeared behind the two and lingered there for a moment.
Behind Arthur was a huge lizard dragon with bright red scales and a pair of huge bat wings on its back. There was also a long and sharp horn sticking out from the center of its forehead which was extending upwards.
Its front and hind paws were blazing with raging flame with a mix of black color appearing on its surface.
This dragon raised its mouth upwards before opening it to breathe out some flames before fusing with Arthur changing the appearances of his armor and weapons once again.

'Elemental Spirit Possession (Infernal Dragon): Lava Walker'
His round shield suddenly disappeared as he was now holding a blazing halberd with both of his hands. Meanwhile, his full-body armor turned crimson red as his cape transformed into a pair of bat wings extending on his back.
At the same time, a figure of a Beastman LionKin appeared behind Leonard which had crimson-colored furs alongside a blazing mane.
Its upper body was bare, showcasing its muscular body with a lot of scars on its surface which was similar to the bodies of barbarians who went through a lot of bloody battles.
A second later, the LionKin fused with Leonard and gave additional strength and destructive powers.
'Elemental Beast Companion (Possession): Crimson Sovereign'
Roar! Roar!
Right after the fusion, both Arthur and Leonard immediately made their moves right after releasing a deafening roar simultaneously.
BOOM!
They kick the ground beneath them in a powerful manner, launching themselves towards their respective opponents at the same time.
Swoosh! Swoosh!
Seeing that, both Amu and Trynd immediately activated their berserk skills to enhance their own battle prowess before quickly setting up their defenses without any hesitation.
...
Meanwhile, outside the corridor, the members of the Undying Guild finally destroyed the barrier that was preventing them from moving forward.
They were currently in rage because of that annoying barrier, so they were pretty excited to annihilate what was in this place.
They were staring at the entrance of the corridor like a horde of hungry beasts that were ready for slaughter. But before they could order their undead monsters to raze the place to the ground, they heard some rumbling sound coming from the inner part of the corridor.
Listening closely at it, the members of the Undying Guild could tell that something was coming from that place and getting near at the entrance with insane speed.
BOOM!
Then a powerful explosion blew up the entrance of the corridor, sending a strong shockwave that blew away all of the undead monsters blocking its path.
When the shockwave subdued, every necromancer present on the Ancient Ruins saw a huge cloud of smoke and flames spreading out in front of them.
Swoosh! Swoosh!
Then they saw a pair of silhouettes fly out from the intervening cloud of smoke and raging flames.
The Necromancers were still busy identifying the figures in the air when they witnessed yet another surprise.
Roar!
A huge blazing dragon suddenly rushed out from the cloud of smoke and flames and flew straight at the two figures that previously came out from it.
'Secret Fusion Skill (Elemental Possession and Class Fighting Style):
-Souring Inferno'
"Quite persistent, aren't you?" said Amu with a deep frown on his face before putting his palms together to cast yet another spell alongside a pair of spell-enhancing skills.
'Class Fighting Style: Raging Sandstrom'
'Desert Ruler Skill (Tier 2): Overlord's Mercy'
'Desert Ruler Skills (Tier 2): Monarch's Supremacy'
Then all of the dust in the air came together and formed a twisting sandstorm that blocked the path of the incoming dragon made of fire.
BOOM!
Yet another explosion was created due to that collision of the opposing powers which also created a rain of blazing sands.
Amu and Trynd successfully landed back on the ground, thanks to the former's spell. But they both knew that it was still not safe yet since they could sense a dangerous gaze of a savage beast locked on them.
They simultaneously raised their heads up in the sky to look at the direction where that gaze was coming from.
Up in there, they saw Leonard surrounded with crimson mana while hovering in the air and viciously staring back at them.
Boom!
Swoosh!
He then readjusted his position in the air before kicking the air behind him and sending himself towards the ground with incredible speed and unstoppable force.
'Secret Fusion Skill (Elemental Possession and Class Fighting Style):
-Planetary Destruction'
On the ground, Trynd quickly grabbed Amu with one hand before executing a series of consecutive moment skills as fast as he could to get away from their current location towards the farthest place possible.
BOOM!
A devastative explosion was created the moment Leonard came in contact with the ground alongside a powerful shockwave that was sent in every direction.
Due to that, the necromancers that didn't know what was happening were swept away by the raging shockwave alongside the undead monsters in the vicinity.
When everything subdued, the survivors saw a huge crater in the middle of the Ancient Ruins as if a giant meteor fell on it.
Then everyone focused their gazes at the center of the crater where a rising cloud of smoke was located.
A few moments later, they all saw Arthur and Leonard walk out from it in their respective Elemental Possessions as the falling debris was raining down in their surroundings.
When everyone saw those two, they all knew that a calamity was about to befall in this place because of the appearance of these 'Ancient Dragon' and 'Primordial Beast'.

Dungeon Core? Nah, I Think I'll Just Get Super-Wealthy Instead
The cycle is simple enough. A Dungeon Core is born from a wayward soul. It seeks power and agency, and works to accumulate wealth to fuel its power, in turn using this power to accumulate further wealth. Inevitably, the mind is lost as desperation and ambition drive it to commit darker and darker acts. Shortly thereafter, the adventurers arrive to quell the core. This is a tale that has repeated itself countless times throughout history: all cores desire power. And yet, this core seems to have it backwards. It doesn't want to rule the world. It has no desire to enslave or conquer. No, this core doesn't want to be a warlord, a villain, or a tyrant. It wants to start a core-poration. After all, when money is power, what greater weapon is there than capitalism? Join a dungeon core that wastes an absurd amount of time and effort trying not to be evil on his journey to earn fat stacks against all odds. -This is a 'Dungeon Core' type fiction with LitRPG elements in it. The start may be fairly slow compared to the average. Expect roughly 2.5k per chapter. -I'm only a hobbyist writer. As such, there may be the occasional error and pacing may be poorly-handled. Constructive criticism is alway welcome. I'm just here to write stuff that makes my brain release the g o o d c h e m i c a l s. -I am trashy and I like monsterpeople so you can expect an awful lot of those as we get further in. Thank you for reading this far, and I hope you enjoy.
