Child Of Destiny Chapter 462

Blind Abyss Empire
This place was the home turf of the Undying Guild. And as the name implied, it was obviously a dark empire where a lot of players with Undead Race stayed.
Moreover, there was also another dark race staying in this Empire which was not available to the other Kingdoms and Empire. And those races were the Shadow Elves and Demon Races.
There were also some red-tagged players who chose to live in this area. Because for a lawless place where chaos was the only rule, this place would surely be going to be a heaven for dark players who want nothing but cause discord.
The Undying Guild might be the known ruler of this place since they were controlling most of the places with a lot of resources, but it didn't mean there were no other superpowers that could contend with them in this area.
It just, the other powerhouses refused a meaningless loss just to take control over the places with a decent amount of resources. After all, the Undying Guild already put quite a lot of effort to garrison in this Empire. So, they would surely pay a heavy price if they want to share a slice from a big g pie.
But it was a completely different matter when it came to the newly discovered place which was suspected as an Ancient Ruin of a Fallen God.
And since the Central Order, another top Guild inside the game was willing to take the lead of the change, the other powerhouses would surely welcome such a wonderful opportunity.
The Central Order might be at a total disadvantage since this place was not their territory. But since they managed to buy some time for their reinforcement to arrive, the battle lasted longer than what the Undying Guild had expected.
Due to that, the people of the Central Order managed to redirect some of their most promising elites in this Empire to deal with the current situation.
At the same time, such a decision resulted in an all-out war between the two Major Powerhouses of the game. And alongside this, the other guilds who were eyeing some of the places with a lot of resources, took advantage of the current situation to make their moves.
Because of that, the Undying Guild put in a difficult spot where they needed to divide their attention in different places.
In the meantime, the small groups and some of the independent players also took advantage of the chaos to get some benefits from the places that they didn't dare to invade before. And since the Undying Guild had a lot on their plates already, they didn't have time to bother themselves with these small groups.

And right now, such a group was currently in the middle of a hunting chase.
"Hey! Hurry! We need to catch that guy as soon as possible! Or else, the boss will kill all of us later," said a player who was currently leading a group of players in a run.
From their body features, anyone would think that they were ordinary players with a common race at first glance. But upon a closer inspection, they were actually pretty much different from the other players.
They had very pale skin that made them look like a dead person. They had sharp eyes with crimson pupils that would make them intimidating whenever they were making a glare.
Their sharp fangs were slightly sticking out of their mouths every time they said something. They also had pointed nails that looked so sharp which was enough to become a weapon.
But the most noticeable feature that they had was the pair of pointed horns that were sticking out on their foreheads.
With that, it was already obvious which race they belong to. It was none other than the notorious race of Demons.
Since the Demon Race was able to invade the Atlas world for a long time, it was natural for them to leave their seeds in this world even if they were brandished from here during the Repelling Era.
That was also the reason why some dark organizations like Corrupted Cult and Demonic Churches existed.
Though, the races under those organizations were only excited in dark continents such as The Blind Abyss Empire. After all, they were being hated by everyone.
Regardless, races like the Demon Race were still famous to a lot of players who were residing in the dark continents. Because the Demon Race was quite an overpowered race with a very few restrictions.
Aside from being weak to elemental power with a relation of light and holy elements, the Demon Race didn't have any other recommendations.
Given that, the Demon Race had their powers weakened during the day which made their stats equivalent to the common races. But when the night fell, they were going to have a huge boost in their powers that could make their stats comparable to higher-ranking races.
Due to this reason, the players with a Demon Race loved to stay in the Blind Abyss Empire where Sun never rises.
At the same time, there was also a hidden reward for a Demon Race Player if they were able to nurture their 'bloodlines' strong enough.

After nurturing their bloodlines with enough powers, or after finding a hidden class specialized for them, then they were able to evolve into a 'Greater Demon' who has a power that could rival the powers of a player with a special race and a hidden class.
And if they were lucky enough, then they could also reach the apex of the Demon Race and became a Demon Lord – a being that could rival the powers of 'Transcendent Races'.
Going back, the group of players with Demon Races was currently chasing a fellow player with the same race as them.
He was running as fast as he could while also waving his staff from time to time so that he could increase the distance between him and his pursuers.
On his other hand, he was tightly gripping a ragged scroll that was releasing a faint dark aura. Even an idiot could tell that it was not an ordinary scroll given the black smoke that it had on its surface.
"D*mn you, Chaotic Luck! Give that scroll back to us! Or else, you can forget about playing the game peacefully since we are going to hunt you down wherever you go!" shouted by the player who was leading the group.
On the other, the player that they were chasing who seemed to have the name of 'Chaotic Luck', just smirked at those words before muttering to himself. "In your dreams! I've risked my life repeatedly just to get this stupid scroll and you guys want me to hand it over to you?"
"I rather become a wanted person than to let you benefit from my hardships," he added as he continued to run.
Unfortunately, he immediately became cornered the moment he reached a dead end. It was a deep cliff with a river that had a raging current underneath.
Seeing that, Chaotic Luck took a couple of steps backward before turning his body around and planning to look for another way where he could escape onto.
But right after he turned around, he immediately discovered that he was already surrounded by his pursuers who were getting ready to cast their spells that could be sent at him at any given moment.
Realizing his current situation, Chaotic Luck tightened his grip on the scroll that he was holding before glaring at the leader of the opposing side who was standing a few meters away from him.
"What? Got tired of running?" asked the leader while wearing a mocking look at his face.
On the other hand, Chaotic Luck just remained silent and refused to reply while glaring continuously at the man in front of him.
Seeing that look on his face, the leader suddenly smirked before saying with a mocking tone. "What's with that look? Want to fight us? Come! I want to see you try."
Hearing that, Chaotic Luck took a quick glance at his skill bar and saw that all of his skills were greyed out; meaning, he had been silenced by the 'Occultists' from the opposing side.
Being cornered like this, Chaotic Luck had no other choice but to gamble everything. So, he formed a determined look on his face before raising the scroll that he was holding before saying with a mocking tone. "You want this, right? Then try and take it if you can."
After that, he immediately turned his body around before running towards the cliff in a decisive manner.
When the leader saw his actions, he immediately shouted at his subordinates while pointing at Chaotic Luck. "Hurry! Stop that guy no matter what!"
Hearing those commands, the other Demon Players quickly released the spells that they had cast earlier.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
With that, a barrage of spells started raining down at Chaotic Luck as he ran desperately towards the cliff as fast as he could. And while he was running, his right was suddenly tripped by a rock on the ground.
Due to that, he suddenly lost his footing and stumbled on the ground before rolling forward. But strange enough, he managed to dodge all of the spells that were flying towards him the moment he fell on the ground.
The players from the opposing side were all dumbfounded at the sight when they saw Chaotic Luck 'perfectly dodge' all of their attacks. And since they were too stunned at what they had witnessed, they all lost the chance to stop Chaotic Luck as he was already falling off the cliff by the end of his roll.
When the leader of the group saw that, he immediately came back to his senses and quickly shouted with all his might. "CHAOTIC LUCK!!!"

Beast
A threat to the galaxy has come from another, and the Union of intelligent life will go to any length to stop it. Military Quarantine has held for hundreds of thousands of cycles. Traders, merchants, colonists, and Pirates live risky lives along the fringes as the politics from the inner systems fail to see the larger threats beyond their borders. A lone human finds himself far from home with no memories to how he arrived. A failing Trade vessel plays on a desperate gamble, while a malicious parasite searches for a suitable host. ............................................. Author's note: Beast is a story that I wrote a long, long time ago. Some of you might have read it then, back when it was posted on reddit over at r/HFY. It was my first webfiction and made in the spirit of that subreddit's "genre" of humanity being awesome. But, it is also a story that has bothered me a little bit. Just like most new writers tend to do, I made mistakes and errors that feel painful to reread. A Space Opera will be a Space Opera, but I had prose that makes present-me cringe. Still, at the same time, the story is still very much a tale I've never given up on. It was my first adventure into fiction: Beast was a crazy adventure with bodysnatching aliens, galactic war, threats from across the universe... Posting this story here is a way to try and redeem myself a bit. I won't call it a complete rewrite, because it's not, but I have wanted to go through and correct some of the major issues Beast has for a long time and put it somewhere more accessible to read (instead of as posts/comments on reddit) and I figure that now is as good a time as any. Additional corrections you might notice are welcome.

Chains of Dominion
If Jake wins the local Fantasy Tactics Online tournament, he’ll have everything he’s ever dreamed of — a ticket out of town and the attention of a beautiful woman. However, this woman has more planned for him than a bus ride to the local metropolis. She teleports him back to her Realm and declares him her Master… and says it’s up to him to save the world. No pressure. Rival Dominions vie for power, and they are all far larger and more organized than Jake’s rag-tag group of women, but he has two advantages: the rules of this world are eerily similar to those of Fantasy Tactics Online, and his wildest dirtiest sexual fantasies act as a power multiplier for his all-female army. Warning: The heroes have intense tactical battles, wild kinky sex, and near-constant flirtation. The villains are disturbing and cruel. If the idea of villains doing bad things bothers you, please do not read books ever, but especially don’t read this one.

The Fall
Perhaps the most well known of all devils, demons, or fallen angels is the one known as Lucifer, Satan, the Father of Lies. The cultural influence of this figure throughout history is by no means small. Despite that, it wasn’t until the time of Milton’s classic – Paradise Lost – that we saw an attempt to portray a dramatized version of the events leading to this figure’s fall from grace and power. And while this is the case, Paradise Lost is not about Lucifer – though it goes into great detail about his potential musings. No, Paradise Lost was, and still is, about the fall of mankind. So, in light of this, and the feeling that the classical story deserved another telling, I present to you all The Fall – a story focused particularly on Lucifer’s fall from grace and his musings both before and after.
