Child Of Destiny Chapter 427

...…
King Jesse was currently sitting on the ground with his eyes closed, making the sight look like he was meditating. Behind him was a closed door which was connected to the room where his wife and son were being treated.
But contrary to the peaceful meditating look that he currently had, the sight in front of him was completely different.
There were a lot of corpses lying around, whether they were nobles who switched sides and turned against him or criminals who were hired by those guys, all of them were brutally killed. And based on the marks left on the hall and the manner in which those corpses were lying on the ground, all of them seemed to be defeated with a single yet devastating strike.
These guys tried to break through the room behind King Jesse after knowing that the Queen and the prince were currently inside.
At first, they heard that this room was being protected by the king's closest aide, so they thought that they could break through it with enough numbers. But they were all stunned after seeing that the king who supposedly had a close-door training, was currently guarding the room instead of Steve.
And making the matter even worse for them, the king was much stronger to what they had remembered. He was now at the peak of 'Venerable Realm' which was a step away from reaching the current highest attainment of Mentalism, the 'Exalted Realm'. So, all of them thought that his 'close-door' training was successful.
It didn't take long for the news to spread around the whole kingdom which currently turned into a terrible warzone. Due to that, a lot of the loyal servants of the royal family started rushing towards the castle where their king was located.
It was the same for the citizens who remained loyal to the king – they also wanted to protect the royal family, so they immediately went to the castle for as fast as they could. And when they saw the current state of the majestic, they couldn't help but feel brokenhearted and furious at the same time.
After a few more hours, more and more people started to arrive at the ruined castle which turned the whole place into a command center. And as these people continued to arrive, a lot of information started to circulate on everyone.
Not long after, everyone started to become aware of the identity of the real culprits who invited this disaster upon their beloved kingdom. It was the nobles who pointed their swords at their king and became traitors of their country.

Though, the leaders of the nobles who remained loyal to their king and their kingdom, were completely thinking differently. They were more aware of the current situation and knew that there was a hidden superpower who was pulling the strings from the shadows. And with their support, these traitors became bolder at their actions.
With all of these, the leaders of the top five Aristocratic Families were currently gathered in the hall where their king was located. They turned his place into a meeting room where they could discuss their current situation and plan their next course of actions.
"So, what are we going to do now? We can't remain here and passively wait for the other side to move," said one of the Leaders.
This guy had a muscular body which was hiding a devastating strength in them. A single look at him was more than enough to tell anyone that he was a 'Combat Mentalist' who specialized in close-quarter battles.
His black hair was brushed backwards which made the look on his face much clearer. He was currently wearing a very annoyed look on his face. His frowning eyebrows and knitting forehead was clearly showing his dissatisfaction at their current situation.
This guy was 'Gideon Oden', the leader of the 'Oden Family'. This Mentalist Family focused on arts of melee combat. Each member of their family was a strong 'Combat Mentalist' on their own. There were even some rumors that their 'Close-Combat Mentalism' could already rival the top 'Martial-Arts' around the world.
While Gideon was clearly showing his dissatisfaction, one of the other family leaders looked at him before saying. "You should not lose your calm, Gideon. We are still figuring out who are really enemies. We already fell on their trap, so we need to be careful this time."
This guy was a man with long white hair. It was not due to his age, but it actually was the natural color of his hair. Compared to Gideon's body, this guy possessed a lean body. But contrary to how it looked, his body was actually properly trained given the perfectly shaped muscles that he had.
He was currently sitting on the ground while leaning on the wall. There was a sheathed sword leaning on his shoulder which clearly indicated his style of battle.
He was also a 'Combat Mentalist' just like Gideon, but unlike the latter who focused on nurturing the body, this guy specialized in using 'Mentalism Enhancements'. He mastered this technique to the point where he could rival most of the top swordsmen and weapon masters around the world.

He was 'Marth Deinslief', the head of 'Deinslief Family'. This Mentalist family was the master of Mentalism Enhancements, especially at the art of enhancing their weapons. Anything that their hands could hold onto were turning into a deadly weapon no matter how ordinary it was.
Gideon and Marth were both famous in other countries. It was because they were the ones who were defending the Solomon Kingdom most of the time. And they were also the ones who crushed the most number of organizations who tried to invade the Kingdom.
Hearing what Marth had said, Gideon suddenly clicked his tongue and turned silent.
At the same time, a woman suddenly looked to King Jesse's direction before knitting her eyebrows. "Is his highness not going to instruct us anything? The Kingdom is already in chaos, yet he still wants to meditate in this kind of situation? Did he really just have a breakthrough?"
This woman was another head of an Aristocratic Family of the Solomon Kingdom, the 'Kurie Family'. It was a Mentalist Family composed of 'Physic Mentalist' with a specialization of creating illusions.
Their powers might be not as strong and destructive as the first two, but their dangerousness didn't lose to those two. In fact, they might be much scarier than the Oden and Deinslief Families because they also specialized at reading the hearts of their opponents who fell on their illusions.
Due to that, they were able to see the weakness of their opponents or beat them by creating an illusion based on the things that their opponents feared the most.
Meanwhile, this woman who was the head of this family was named, 'Miranda Kurie'.
On the other hand, a head of another aristocratic family looked at Miranda before shaking his head slightly. "Whether it is true or not, I suggest you not to bother his highness right now. As you can see, he is really not in a good mood to have any conversation. If you accidentally provoke him with your words, no one can save you."
This guy was 'Thomas Wallmer', the head of the 'Wallmer Family' which specialized at creating different kinds of Mentalism Formations. But compared to the common formations set up by other Mentalists around the world, the formations created by this family was quite special.
It was because they found a way to use the 'Force of Nature' to create a Mentalism Formations instead of their Mental Energies. Though, they were still using the latter form of energy to reinforce their special formations.
Regardless, the formations set up by the members of this family were much harder to break compared to formations created by Mental Energy due to how special they were.
While these four were busy discussing with each other, there was a certain man who remained silent the entire time. No one bothered to talk to him because they all knew that it was not a very good idea.
This guy also had a lean body just like Marth but it had a more toned muscle in comparison. And even if his body was much thin when compared to Gideon's body, no one would think that he was much weaker due to the dangerous aura that was coming from his body.
This guy had blindfolded eyes, but it seemed that he could clearly see his surroundings despite that being the case. His shoulder-length hair had curly strands with crimson color.
Compared to the other four who were wearing fancy clothes due to their noble statuses, this guy was only wearing an ordinary set of clothes. But despite that being the case, those clothes were perfectly clean with not even a speck of dust on it.
He was also a head of an Aristocratic Family. But unlike the previous four who had a lot of family members, this guy was the only member of his 'family'. And out of the five family heads present in this place, he was the most mysterious one since no one knew about his 'real' strength aside from King Jesse and the Spiritual Master.
But there was a rumor running around the whole kingdom about him before. That rumor was so ridiculous which could make other people laugh and made a joke out of it. But it was not the case for these four Family Heads who knew the truth behind that rumor.
It was because they experienced that 'rumor' first hand.
Before, they were too unsatisfied about the fact that their king made this man a Family Head despite not having any family members. But when they tried to question it, this mysterious man stood on his ground and challenged them straightforwardly.
The result of that challenge was them being defeated single handedly, despite ganging up at him. And starting at that time, his name became fully engraved in their minds and they remember it for the rest of their lives.
His name was 'Caesar', the head of the 'Fireheart Clan'.

The Painter: A fantasy psych thriller and epic
*** June 21th Update ***- New chapters are being posted! I haven't figured out a schedule yet, but stay tuned!- Thank you to everyone who has read and reviewed, I'm happy to say The Painter is in the top 200 best-rated fictions. - Readers of The Painter have suggested reading through Chapter 6 before making a decision on this book.- The story takes place in the Lootverse, but you don't need a canonical understanding to appreciate the storyFinally, a warning or reader beware: This is not an action novel (despite the coming fight scene) but a slow-burn psychological thriller of sorts. For a time, the Painter's life was simple. He lived in the small town of Kinon (called Kinney by locals) with his wife, Kahriah and his son, Thesdon. The story begins with him alone and unable to travel more than a few hundred miles from his home. For 5 years he tried to chart his prison until one day a letter appears with a mysterious commission that will see him test his condition and his boundary. Set roughly 50 years before the impending end of days (from Loot canon), The Painter is a story about loss, grit, and exploration of a seemingly normal man in a world of magic and monsters. The Painter will follow the man on his adventure to restore his family, uncover his commissioners and discover the nature of his condition. Loot is the decentralized, global, community built fantasy world based on Dom Hoffman's art/tech experiment: Loot. Fun fact: The cover of our book is painted by the artist, who the MC is loosely based on and the same person painting the Banners (digitally) IRL for an art/worldbuilding project.

Fragments from the Wildlands
“Your first death is always the hardest.” Miguela was the third-born child of a well-off merchant family and knew from around the time she could speak that her life’s path was already decided. She was to become an Orator, as was Xandran tradition. However, Miguela had an affinity with the magikal arts and somehow found herself studying at the Academy. She did just enough to keep up with her studies but never found the motivation to apply herself and “reach her potential,” as her instructors often said. It was not that Miguela was uninterested in the arts. Rather, she knew her time at the Academy ultimately did not matter. Whenever Miguela returned home, she would become an Orator, and that would be that. Or so she believed until, one day, an opportunity appeared that would change her life. Miguela was offered the chance to join a research team tasked with a mission of the utmost importance to the future of the Five Kingdoms. She could not turn down the prospect of regaining control of her life and finally finding a purpose for herself. Of course, Miguela might soon discover that offers that appear too good to be true are usually fraught with lies. Welcome to Five Kingdoms of Cordizal! Question: What is the Five Kingdoms of Cordizal? I often get asked this type of question about my stories by friends, bloggers, and potential readers. The Five Kingdoms of Cordizal is a high-fantasy epic universe that is the setting for most of my stories. The foundation of the universe is its multicultural, multiracial setting with several sentient races attempting to carve their legacy and survive. The world is fully fleshed out and vibrant with a rich and mysterious history not based on Tolkien mythology. This brings me to magic. To me, magic is an essential part of the fantasy genre, so, of course, there is magic in the Five Kingdoms universe. However, one critical part of the Five Kingdoms universe is that magic is an abundant commodity that is a part of everyday life and not some plot device used to drive the story. In short, the Five Kingdoms universe is the setting of epic fantasy stories with deep characters and world-building. I try to tell as many different types of stories as possible in the universe, and hopefully, you can find something for you in it.
