Child Of Destiny Chapter 403

...…
Few moments after Shin was swallowed by the blinding light created by Enrico's advance watch.
At the time when he opened his eyes, he immediately found himself standing in the middle of an unfamiliar place.
"Did I get teleported?" muttered Shin while raising one of his eyebrows. He then swept his gazed on his surroundings, trying to figure out where he was.
A few moments later, he got a slight idea what kind of place he was in. Given the atmosphere surrounding the place and together with the things that were seemingly familiar to him, Shin could tell that this place was most probably a similar place that he really wanted to forget.
"Tsk! Such a drag," clicking his tongue, Shin felt a really bad feeling about this place so immediately planned to leave here as soon as possible using the teleportation talisman that David had given to him.
But before he could even take out the talisman, he suddenly noticed someone's gaze, intensely staring at him.
Shin turned around and faced toward the source of that gaze before saying. "How about showing yourself now? I don't there is a point observing me right there."
The moment he said those words, someone started laughing from the shadowy corner that Shin was facing. And when the sounds of laughter stopped, a man in his late twenties suddenly showed himself by walking out from the shadows.
Seeing that guy, Shin immediately went on guard because he could feel that this guy was very dangerous. What's more, his Martial-Art attainment was at least three levels higher than his.
When that man saw Shin's reaction, he couldn't help but smile a little while saying. "You are quite sharp, huh? Not bad, not bad at all."
Then he paused for a moment and rubbed his chin before saying. "And you also seem to be quite talented."
"But you are quite unfortunate to be dragged in this place," he added after a helpless sigh.
The expression on Shin's face was becoming even more solemn the more he looked at this guy. 'An expert who is at least in the 'late phase' of the 'Ethereal Opening Stage'. Tsk, this is going to be really troublesome.'
With Shin's current strength, he was aware that he couldn't beat this guy. Especially when he was currently quite exhausted due to his previous battle earlier. He was also not sure if he could find a good timing to use his teleportation talisman. After all, this guy completely locked his gaze on him.
As if he could read what was running inside Shin's head, that guy suddenly sneered. "Don't try doing something funny. We both know that you are no match for me – especially with that state of yours."
He then put his hands inside the pockets of his pants while adding. "How about you just accept your fate and stay in here. That way, both of us will not waste anymore of our time."
Hearing that, Shin suddenly smirked and replied. "And what if I don't want to?"
When the other guy heard that, he couldn't help but take a regretful sigh while saying. "Then that is going to be a great pity. I really don't want to waste such a good gem."

Shin started laughing bitterly after hearing that. "Well, I have no plan of staying in this kind of hell."
"Unfortunately, there is no way that you can leave this plan," said the guy before appearing right in front of Shin in just an instant.
Shin's eyes suddenly turned wide open as he got completely off-guard at the opposing side's speed. And before he could even react to protect himself, his face was suddenly grabbed by his opponent. A moment later, his head was smashed on the ground very powerfully.
Bang!
"Ugh!"
Shin immediately felt dizzy the moment his head hit the ground. For a moment, he felt his body floated in the air due bouncing off from the ground. And before he could even have time to adjust himself, an intense pain suddenly assaulted his waist.
Bang!
That sensation lasted for a moment before he was sent flying towards the wall of the room.
Cough! Cough!
Shin started coughing out some blood as he struggled to support himself after being smashed on the wall.
"You know, it is still not too late to change your mind now," said the other guy while walking towards Shin.
Hearing that, Shin suddenly started laughing bitterly before forcing himself to stand back on his feet. He then looked at the man standing a few meters away from him while saying. "How about you just kill me instead? After all, I would rather die than live on this kind of hell once again."
Boom!
Right after those words left his mouth, a powerful pressure suddenly came out from his body as he released both of his Internal Qi and Mental Energy at the same time. After that, he regulated his breathing according to the 'White Dawn Boundary' before taking his battle stance.
Seeing that, the man standing opposite to him squinted his eyes a little before saying. "As expected, you are really not that simple. Well, I can't really say that I am surprised since you are sent here by Enrico's teleportation device."
"That device can only be activated by one condition – and that is when he dies or has been killed. Either way, both cases stand for a single thing. So, it means you already killed him before you are teleported in this place."
He then paused for a moment and put his hands back inside his pockets once again while saying. "Alright, I guess you are a little worthy to know my name. I am called Javed Mikhail – remember it well since I am the man who is going to end your life."
Swoosh!
Right after those words left his mouth, Javed instantly appeared right in front of Shin just like earlier. But instead of grabbing Shin once again, he threw a powerful back kick straight to the latter's face.
But before that kick managed to land at him, Shin managed to lean his body to the side while moving his right hand toward the opposite direction. And with those movements, he was able to redirect the trajectory of the kick with the back of his hand.
Pak!
Immediately after that, Shin quickly turned his wrist towards Javed's leg before grabbing its ankle with a firm grip.
But his hand couldn't completely lock his grip because Javed suddenly made a quick spin roll in the air, freeing his leg from being gripped. And together with those movements, he suddenly stomped his other foot at Shin in a very strong manner.

Seeing the incoming foot, Shin quickly swung his other arm upwards and used the back of his hand to redirect that kick once again. But he suddenly became stunned when the kick that he was expecting didn't come.
Bang!
Yet another painful sensation suddenly assaulted his waist once again before he was sent playing for another time.
Shin did his best to regain his balance midair, but the force that sent him flying was too strong which made him unable to find his center of gravity.
Bang!
And once again, his body was smashed on the wall very strongly. Due to the powerful impact, his mouth couldn't help but open up while spitting out some blood.
His body was about to bounce off the wall when Javed immediately arrived in front of him and quickly threw another kick, targeting his abdomen.
Bang!
Shin's body was implanted on the wall due to the powerful impact from that kick. And due to the series of attacks that landed at him, he could feel that his body currently suffered quite a lot of internal injuries.
But Javed seemed to be not satisfied yet, he took out one of his hands from his pocket and pulled Shin out from being implanted on the wall before throwing toward the opposite direction.
Shin wanted to do something but he couldn't move any parts of his body; it was as if they were refusing to listen to his orders. All he could do was to watch Javed fly towards him before throwing another power kick.
Bang!
...
Shin couldn't remember how long he was getting beaten up by his opponent. His head was totally dizzy due to being tossed around repeatedly. His eyesight was even in between being blind and having a hazy sight.
There were even some red parts on what he was seeing. Maybe it was due to the blood flowing down from his head.
He was totally aware that the disparity between their strengths was quite large. But he still wanted to see if he could at least have a little bit of chance. Unfortunately, the gap was so huge that it couldn't be covered even with the help of his cards.
Javed, on the other hand, stared at Shin's current state before picking him up from the ground. He grabbed Shin's face and lifted him up in the air before saying. "Such a pity for a great gem. Too bad, our organization prefers destroying someone like you rather than becoming a tool for our enemies."
After that, he tossed Shin in the before taking a step back while also pulling his arm at the same time. And while Shin's body was falling towards the ground, he suddenly threw his fist forward, sending Shin flying once again.
Bang!
Javed looked at the direction where he sent Shin flying. And when he noticed that the latter seemed to already stop breathing, he put his hands back to his pockets before starting to walk away.
Cough! Cough!
But his steps immediately came to a sudden halt when he heard a coughing sound coming from behind. Turning around, he saw Shin struggling to catch his breathing while repeatedly tapping his chest.
"F*ck! To what extent did this idi*t fall into? To think that he let himself get beaten up to such a degree? He really became too weak."
Javed started frowning his eyebrows the moment he heard those words. But aside from that, he was even more confused on how the hell was this kid still alive.
Not sure on what was happening, he decided to observe for a little and watched Shin stand up from the ground strugglingly.
Shin leaned back on the wall to support himself while holding his forehead with one of his hands as if he was thinking about something.
"Let's see-… how to use it again?" muttering those words, he suddenly waved his other hand in a circular motion and summoned some Mental Energy from his body. And with another waved of his hand, those Mental Energy turned into a bunch of tiny lights that fell on his body.
A moment later, some of his injuries started healing with a noticeable speed. But that only lasted for a few seconds before stopping. And due to that, Shin seemed to be quite unsatisfied with the result. "D*mn it! Mentalism is really not my forte! Controlling these stupid energies is really troublesome!"
Hearing that, Javed couldn't stand it any longer and said. "I was wondering how come that you are still alive but I guess that is not important anymore – I can just kill for another time."
He then paused for a moment before adding. "But it looks like you lose some screws inside your head."
After he saw those words, silence suddenly enfolded the whole room since Shin didn't bother to reply to him.
Due to that, Javed started raising his eyebrows further up. It was because that silence gave him an uncomfortable feeling for some unknown reason.
He was about to open his mouth when he suddenly saw Shin slowly raised his head and looked at him. "Oh~! Yeah, I forgot about you. Thanks for reminding me."
Javed's face suddenly turned solemn the moment he saw Shin's actions. Especially when he saw the look on Shin eyes. That cold look was giving him an impression that he was now talking to a completely different person. And that feeling was further strengthened when he saw the color of Shin's pupils.
From what he could remember, the color of Shin's pupils was supposedly grey. But those pupils now had a deep purple color. And looking closely on it, his irises were currently a vertical slit shape.
The more Javed looked at those eyes, the more unease he felt inside his heart.
"You said your name is Jav-… something-something, right?" asked Shin while coldly looking at Javed. And before the latter could even give his reply, he immediately added. "Then let me tell you my name. I am called Uno – remember it well, because that is the name of the man who is going to end your life."

Verdant Heart Seed - A Reverend Insanity fan-fiction
Back in the Late Antiquity Era, the protagonist meets his untimely demise. But Heaven and Earth always leaves a way out, his new cultivation journey begins anew on the path of reclaiming his former strength and defying Fate.---This is a story about a native cultivator of the Gu world. He lived in the era of/before Spectral Soul Demon Venerable (two venerable eras before the main RI plot). He suffered the rise of the demon venerable, barely able to make his arrangements before his death. He manages to rebirth, but doesn't everything go as planned. The story starts off in an isolated small word (grotto heaven), until the MC can grow and reclaim his former glory, before surpassing it. (long way, he was already rank 8 before) The MC has a pragmatic worldview, aligned with what you would expect from someone living hundreds of years in that kind of hostile environment. He doesn't shy away from immoral acts if it benefits him. The MC bears close resemblance to Fang Yuan in this regard, but his goal is not eternal life. One of my aims was to showcase the later introduced cultivation rules into the mortal cultivation (dao marks, attainment etc.) and explore novel scenarios within this highly technical cultivation environment.
