Child Of Destiny Chapter 360

...…
"The truth is-… the real reason why I am roaming around the world is because of this special Mentalism Technique," said David with a serious tone.
Hearing that, Shin raised one of his eyebrows and was still seemingly doubtful at his words. But when he saw that David was really serious right now, he started showing some signs of believing him.
Naturally, David noticed those changes in Shin's internal mood. Due to that, he started hitting the iron while it was hot. "My master and her husband originally created this technique for Sir-… I mean my master husband."
"But even if it manages to help him completely suppress his 'Seed of Hatred', he still needs some help from my master to execute it. After all, he is just a Martial-Artist and not a Dual-Practitioner or a Mentalist; he can't control a Mental Energy."
He paused for a moment to look at Shin's reaction before continuing. "My master thinks that this technique is too important to be buried forever, so she wanted to find a suitable successor that can properly show this technique's real potential."
"And that person needed to be a Dual-Practitioner with a 'Seed of Hatred'. But at the same time, that person also needs to be someone with a good personality together with good talent."
Reaching this point, David released a helpless sigh before continuing. "Me and my Martial Sister may be good nurtured people with some great talents. Unfortunately, both of us are just a Mentalist, so we can't be that 'successor' of this technique."
Then he raised his right-hand index finger while also raising his voice. "And that is why my master sent me on this journey. I need to find that fated individual as soon as possible."
Hearing the latter part of David's words, Shin couldn't help but knit his eyebrows before asking. "Huh? Why do you need to find that person as soon as possible?"
David suddenly gulped a mouthful of saliva the moment he heard that. Then he looked at Shin straight to the eyes and said. "The thing is-… My master-… she is about to reach the end of her life-... and her final wish is-… to see the person that will inherit this masterpiece."
After saying those, David suddenly shook his head a little while seemingly having a 'pained' expression on his face.
Shin stared silently at David for a few moments before asking carefully. "And you are telling me that I am that person that you are looking for?"
David didn't reply to him but still nodded his head to say that he was right.
Seeing that, Shin suddenly turned silent and crossed his arms in front of him while also closing his eyes at the same time. He was seemingly considering whether to accept David's 'proposal' or not.

After some time of thinking, Shin took a deep breath before asking. "I will meet this master of yours, right?"
Hearing that, David immediately answered without any signs of hesitation. "Of course, you will!"
But he suddenly took a slight pause before adding. "Though, it will take some time. But you will surely meet her at the right time."
Shin turned silent for a moment as if he was thinking about something. And after a one last consideration, he took an even deeper breath before saying with a serious tone. "Alright, let's do it. Though, I want you to take an oath."
David was taken aback at first and pointed on himself while saying. "Me? An oath? You mean I need to swear with my Mentalism Powers?"
But immediately after, David quickly raised his right hand and summoned his Mental Energy to enfold his body as he said. "With the powers granted to me by heavens, I swear that this guy in front of me will meet my master someday. And if it turns out to be a lie, then the universe will take this power of mine away from me and make me a cripple!"
After that, his Mental Energy suddenly went berserk for a moment before starting to calm down once again. Then he immediately withdrew his Mental Energy back inside his body while saying. "There you go. I already did my oath."
Seeing all of that, Shin nodded his head before saying. "Alright. Let's start then."
"But before we start. I want this to be made clear once again. No one is allowed to know about this technique aside from, alright?" asked David one last time.
"Then I can also make an oath if you wanted to," said Shin while raising his right hand.
But before he could even summon his Internal Qi and Mental Energy, David immediately prevented him from doing so. "Nope! There is no need for that. I trust my own judgement. So, I trust you."
Shin leaned his head to the side for a moment before shrugging his shoulders as if he was saying. – "Whatever you say." –
After that, David told Shin to sit in a lotus position and entered a deep meditation state. And when he confirmed that the latter already cleared his mind, David placed his right on Shin's forehead while summoning his Mental Energy.
A moment later, Shin suddenly felt a massive amount of information start entering his mind. Shin couldn't but groan a little due to the pain assaulting his head caused by the rushing information.
This state continued for quite a few minutes before the rushing information stopped; together with the subduing pain. Though, Shin still didn't immediately re-open his eyes because he was trying to digest every information that entered his mind.

He was starting to segregate his mind from the outside world when he suddenly heard David's voice saying. "Remember, this Mentalism Technique is called 'the Jade Kirin Scripture'."
On the other hand, David watched Shin enter a deep meditation state while muttering to himself. "Hu~! The first task is done. At least, I am not going to train on that hell-like Forbidden Valley anymore."
Then he stood up to stretch his waist left and right while saying. "Everything is all in his hands now."
'And from the looks of if, he seems to believe that short story that I just made earlier – I guess,' he added in his mind while looking at Shin.
After that, he made a snap with his fingers commanding the transparent barrier in the surrounding to shrink and formed a dome-like barrier around Shin. Then he turned his head deeper in the woods while saying. "I guess you can come out now, elders."
The moment he said those words, two old men walked out from the darkness; one was a lean old man wearing a while daoist robe while the other was a fat old man with an oversize taoist robe in yellow color – they were obviously Professor Plum and Grandmaster Benn.
After showing themselves, Old Benn immediately said. "You have an interesting artifact, kid. To think that even with my method, I still can't overhear your conversation with that kid. That necklace of yours is really not that simple."
David gave them a respectful bow before saying. "This is a special gift given by my master. It always protects me whenever the situation calls for it."
"So, the thing that you two discussed can't be shared even with us?" asked Professor Plum while stroking his long white beard.
David started smiling bitterly the moment he heard that and said. "I am so sorry, Sir. But I'm afraid that I can't do that."
Professor Plum pursed his lips a little before nodding his head. "I understand."
Then Grandmaster Benn suddenly asked. "Then-… how about you tell us the identity of your master instead?"
Hearing that, David shook his head. "I need to apologize again for I am forbidden to tell anyone about my master's identity."
"Well, I was expecting that. Given our age and experience, we can at least make some guesses about who it is. But since you don't want to admit it, then let's forget about it for now," said Old Benn while scratching his head a little. And after a slight pause he suddenly added. "Though, that kid's situation is still safe, I guess? Like, there is nothing serious to worry about, isn't it?"
David took a helpless sigh after hearing that before nodding his head. And when the two old men saw that, they too nodded their heads.
"That is all we want to hear," said Old Plum before turning around and started walking away. But he immediately paused his steps when he suddenly remembered something.
He looked over his shoulder before asking David. "You are going to stay on this continent for quite some time, right?"
David was suddenly taken aback at that question but he still nodded his head. And when Old Plum saw that, he suddenly started grinning before turning his head back on his front while starting to walk away once again.
Though, he didn't forget to say some worlds to Old Benn. "Hey, old fatty. We are taking this kid along with us later. Since we are going to cut some time on that rascal's training due to the special mission, I guess making it a 'little' harder is not that unreasonable."
Realizing what he meant, Old Benn started grinning evilly too and looked at David. "Hey, kid! Come with me for a moment, I need to discuss some things with you."
David felt a sudden chill that ran through his back the moment he saw the current look that Old Benn was having. He gulped a mouthful of saliva while trying to dodge the situation with a stuttering voice. "B-but… h-how about… him?"
Seeing that David was pointing at Shin, Old Benn made a snap with his fingers and summoned a golden Mental Energy Formation around Shin. Then he looked at David once again and said. "He is safe now. There is nothing to worry about."
David's face suddenly turned stiff as he could already imagine what was going to happen to him. And sure enough, before he could even do anything, Old Benn suddenly appeared in front of him before grabbing his collar.
Then his sight suddenly turned blur as he was being dragged by Old Benn. And since he couldn't fight, all could David do was to curse his life. 'What as sh*tty luck do I have on this continent. I am starting to miss the peaceful life on that lonely mountain.'
Sigh~
