Child Of Destiny Chapter 340

Real World, Springfield Household
The monsters of the Springfield family were currently present in a single room. And due to the presence of these guys, there was no one that wanted to stay inside this room alongside them; especially if they had no strength to withstand the pressure the each of these guys was giving.
Nathan and Bernard were standing on the side of Arthur's bed as they watched Grandmaster Benn assessed Arthur's current state.
The former was calm and composed while waiting for Grandmaster Benn to finish his assessment. But despite that being on the surface, what he was really feeling inside was full of rage. To think that there was someone that dared to attack his nephew right outside of their backyard? Given that, Nathan couldn't help but become enraged at whoever was it; killing intent kept on flashing in his eyes as he thought about this.
On the other hand, there was no need to ask about Bernard's mood. Being Arthur's father, it was natural for him to be worried at Arthur's current condition. But at the same time, he was suppressing all of his rage as much as Nathan.
He just came back home after arranging some of the preparations needed for their next operation. But who would have thought that he would receive such unpleasant news after arriving? Due to that, a lot of dangerous aura was leaking from his body no matter how much tried to suppress them.
Meanwhile, the two old men standing on the opposite side of bed were much calmer. General Samuel had his arms crossed in front of his chest while waiting for Grandmaster Benn to finish his assessment. On the other hand, Professor Plum was stroking his beard with no one knowing what he was thinking.
A moment later, Grandmaster Benn was finally done and withdrew his Mental Energy surrounding Arthur. And right after he did that, Captain Bernard immediately asked. "How was it, Senior? Is everything fine? He is not in a critical state, right? He- …"
Due to his rapid asking of questions, Nathan needed to pat his shoulders to calm him down. "Relax, brother. Let Grandmaster Benn talk first."
Hearing that, Bernard immediately calmed down and waited for Grandmaster Benn. And when the latter saw that, he smiled at Bernard and said. "You don't have to worry that much, little Bernard. I already removed the virus inside his system."
"What's more, that virus is not a lethal one. It is something used for weakening someone; nothing else. This kid will regain his consciousness any time soon."
The atmosphere inside the room immediately lightened the moment everyone heard those words. And now that they calmed down, it was time to ask the most crucial question.

"So, can you identify the source of the virus?" asked General Samuel.
Grandmaster Benn hesitated for a moment before replying. "The virus itself is not that hard to identify since it is commonly used by different organizations. But that is also the problem we have here. Since it is a quite common one, we are going to have a hard time looking for real culprits."
"So, we have no other choice but to wait for this kid to regain consciousness, huh?" said Professor Plum while continuing to stroke his beard.
After that, the group calmly waited for a few more minutes before Arthur finally regained his consciousness. And right after waking up, he was immediately greeted by Bernard's smirking voice. "So, how does it feel to get beaten up?"
The moment Arthur had heard that, he couldn't help but frowned his eyebrows and complained. "Can you at least give a more considerate greeting, Dad?"
He then paused for a moment before immediately adding. "And for your information, I beat my opponent into a pulp. He just pulled a cowardly move and poisoned me before running away with the tail between his legs."
"Alright, that is enough with fooling around, you father and son duo," interrupted by General Samuel before asking. "So, how about you tell us what really happened?"
Hearing that, Arthur immediately nodded his head and narrated what had happened. Of course, he left out all of the troublemaking that he did before that.
As the elders listened to him, the expression on their faces started to become much solemn the more they heard about what had happened. And when Arthur was done narrating, the whole room suddenly turned quiet.
A moment later, Bernard couldn't help but click his tongue and said. "Tsk! An Evil Qi that can devour a high-class Internal Qi? Now, this is a bit troublesome."
But Professor Plum immediately rejected the idea. "No, that's not it. It is impossible for an artificial Demonic Qi to overwhelm an Internal Qi that is on a very high level just like the 'Eternal Flame'."
"Just look at my 'Sacred Qi' for example. It can even suppress a real Demonic Qi of a Demonic Possession. So, it is still hard to believe for this Evil Qi to beat Arthur's Qi. Unless it is a Pure Demonic Qi of a real Demon."
"What do you mean, Professor?" asked Bernard almost instantly.
Professor Plum thought for a moment before saying. "For all we know, Arthur is still not used at utilizing his new Internal Qi properly. So, that may be one of the reasons why his Qi is being overwhelmed."

At this point, General Samuel suddenly injected. "From Arthur had said, the said Evil Qi was suddenly weakened when he used one of our Family Secret Arts. That means, he can still counter this new type of Evil Qi as long as he uses the right application of his 'Eternal Flame Internal Qi'."
Then Grandmaster Benn pointed out the main issue that they had. "Arthur's problem can easily be fixed later. What we need know is our currently opponents this time."
Nathan immediately smirked after hearing that. "Isn't it obvious? Of course, it is the guys who are creating troubles in our continent."
"The Shadow Alliance is making too much trouble on our continent these last few days, huh?" muttered Grandmaster Benn before looking at General Springfield. "That Nicolas kid is from the Northwood Family, right? Don't tell me, they are one of the hands of the Shadow Alliance in our continent?"
"There is only one way to know about that," replied by the general almost instantly.
And when Professor Plum had heard that, he suddenly raised one of his eyebrows while asking. "Are you going there personally?"
General Samuel suddenly smirked after hearing that. "Heh! How are they going to be obedient if I am not going to visit them personally?"
After that, he turned his head at Nathan giving his orders. "Nathan, you take care about the things over here and make sure to alert all of our subordinates."
Then he took a quick glance at Arthur before adding. "And while you are at it, teach this rascal a few more Secret Arts in case something like this happens once again. Given this rascal's attitude, I am sure that he is going to sneak out of our house despite experiencing such danger."
Hearing that, Nathan immediately nodded his head. "Yes, father."
After that, he turned his head at Bernard and said. "You! You are coming with me."
He was about to turn around to leave the room when he suddenly remembered something. So, he paused midway before looking at Arthur and said. "As for you, I'll give your punishment later."
He then didn't wait for Arthur's reaction before walking out of the room, leaving Arthur who had a weird expression on his face.
Meanwhile, Professor Plum and Grandmaster Benn watched the general left the room together with Bernard.
"Heh! Despite having such a hot-blooded temper, that Old Demon still has a soft heart for his grandchildren. Why can't be a little honest sometimes?" said Grandmaster Benn with a cheeky smile on his face.
After that, he crossed his hands behind him before saying. "I wonder what will happen to the Northwood Family after this."
Hearing that, Professor Plum suddenly wore a mysterious grin before replying. "Let's just say that whoever ambushed little Arthur got a little lucky this time. If they are still present when we arrive here, then I can guarantee that they will suffer the greatest nightmare of their life."
"As for the Norwood Family-…" He paused for a moment and stroked his beard. Then he suddenly shook his head and continued. "Let's say that they are too unfortunate to become the target of that old demon's anger."
After that, the two old men walked out of the room and left Arthur and Nathan behind.
Arthur was already sweating bullets at this point of time. It was because he knew that he really f*cked up this time. He slowly turned his head at Nathan while trying to voice out the excuses that he could think of in the moment.
Unfortunately, he couldn't open his mouth then the moment he saw the serious expression that Nathan had. 'D*mn! I am sure that I will be a dead meat if I say something unnecessary.'
He gulfed a mouthful of saliva as he readied his ears for an earful scolding. But to much of his surprise, Nathan didn't even voice out a single word in the next few minutes.
Though, even if he was quite confused, Arthur still didn't dare to talk as he was too afraid that he might trigger the eruption of the volcano.
A moment later, Nathan suddenly released a helpless sigh before muttering with a soft voice. "It should be my fault for not training you properly."
Even if it was a soft voice, Arthur was still able to hear his words. He was shocked at first since he was not expecting this sudden turn of events. But realizing that he seemingly dodged the bullet this time, he couldn't help but release a sigh of relief while rejoicing inside.
Unfortunately, that only lasted for a second since he quickly felt a sudden chill that ran through his back when he heard the next words that Nathan had muttered.
"So, before your next mission starts, I will make sure that you are going to learn everything that you need to know."
'Can I make a pass this time? I don't want to be that knowledgeable after all,' thought Arthur to himself as he could already imagine the things that he was going to suffer.
