Child Of Destiny Chapter 254

...…
Minutes had passed as the last battle of the first day of the Monster Horde event was continuously reaching its peak.
And during that time, the majority numbers of the players from different guilds were struck by terror.
And it was because of a single person.
Yes, a single person.
At first, they thought that they were being attacked by a group of assassins. But as time went by, they discovered that everything was actually done by a single individual!
And they also confirmed it when the dead members, which were the victims, were revived. And those guys reported that they either died by the same person or attacked by the very same guy.
This person was mysteriously slaughtering the advancing group that came from different guilds time and time again. These groups might be being bothered by the surging waves of werewolves, but that was just a single factor of it since there was no way that they were some ordinary groups at all!
Maybe they were not the best, but they were also a group of weaklings either since they were the elite and expert groups of their guilds. What's more, there were also some Rankers' groups in the mix of these groups.
But either way, this mysterious guy was ripping away their lives as if it was nothing. He looked like the 'Reaper of Death' of the battlefield.
Fortunately, the guilds behind these groups sent some reinforcements for as fast as they could, the moment they learned about the current situation. And it was quite fruitful since they were able to put more pressure to their opponent at this point of time.
Meanwhile, the man in question, which was Shin, was currently having a hard time. The reinforcements of these guilds not only gave him some trouble, but also put him in the middle of a huge pressure since they belong to the strongest groups of their respective guilds.
Not only did these new groups have some Title Rankers in their groups, but there were even some Peak-Titled Rankers among them.
Earlier, when Shin crossed the Level-100 mark, he thought that he could finally consider himself as someone that could go against some really strong players. But now, he finally realized just how foolish that thinking was.
Just like how Real World worked, there were also some hidden divisions on each rank of a person – despite being in the same level, there were always some strong players hidden in that group.
Just like how the Titled and Maverick Rankers had worked; or just like how the Peak-Titled Rankers were made, that despite not being recognized as real Godlike Players, they were still able to hold themselves against those real Godlike ones.

He might be good against some regular Titled Rankers or Maverick ones, but when it came to the hidden dragons and crouching tigers of each of those ranks, he might be to one that was considered as average.
And given all of those, the job that Shin needed to be done became too hard for him. He might be able to kill some of those groups, but he also failed to completely hold them at bay; he failed to halt the advance of these groups.
"D*mn! I know that Peak-Titled Rankers are strong given the strengths that I saw from Brother Ravier and Sister Ember. But I didn't expect that battling against them is going to be this hard," muttered Shin as he pushed yet another guy backwards
Then he quickly hopped backwards to distance himself away from that person.
After that, he took a quick look at the battlefield and saw that the number of the advancing groups were getting higher and higher as the time went by.
Shin already gave his best to stop their advance. But no matter how hard he did, all that he could do was to slow their advance for as much as he could; especially that these groups were starting to reunite with their mother groups.
And as if rubbing some salts on his wounds, his 'allies', the wave of werewolves, was also starting to lessen.
So, no matter how hard he tried, it was impossible for him to stop their advance; he's just a single person after all. And no matter how capable a single person was, there would always be a limit on it.
Fortunately, everything was not bad news for Shin. Because the ongoing battle on Cloe and Simba's side was also coming to an end. Though they were also not having a good time either.
The Werewolf Boss entered a double berserk state because it stayed in critical health for quite some time already.
And since the werewolf boss' speed became even more faster than its previously double speed, Cloe and Simba had a hard time to completely hold the werewolf boss in place.
Seeing that, Simba wanted to use one or two of his boosting skills so that he could match the speed of the werewolf boss. But before he could even do it, Shin suddenly stopped him from doing so.
"It is just the first wave," hearing those words from Shin, Simba decided to abandon those thoughts and just grind the HP bar of the werewolf boss little by little.
And even though they took a little more time at grinding the HP of the werewolf boss, they still managed to cut it down to 3% at this point of time.

But even if that was the case, that news also made the opposing groups go mad the moment they learned about it.
And given that these groups' real target was the werewolf boss from the first place, then it was natural for them to go all-out when they saw that there was only a sliver of health on the werewolf boss' HP bar.
Then all of the opposing guilds stopped holding back and immediately activated their berserk skills at the same time before charging forward without regarding anything; they ignored the other competing groups and just rushed towards the werewolf boss' location while also slaughtering their way at the same time.
They even forget about Shin at this point.
Well, there was nothing that Shin could do even if he wanted to stop all of them. No matter how hard they tried, it was pretty much impossible for the current him to do that.
All he could do was to take a helpless sigh while looking at the sight of the surging players in front of him.
And when Simba also saw the incoming horde of players, he couldn't help but shook his head at the chaotic sight.
But he didn't give a sh*t for them as his job of pinning this troublesome monster in place was already done.
He and Cloe stopped attacking the monster boss when its HP fell at 1%.
The incoming groups were gotten off-guard at what they had done. But even if they were confused at that sight, that the two of them suddenly stopped attacking, the groups still couldn't help but rejoice after seeing the sudden turn of events.
Then all of them started charging forward with a greater speed. From the spectator's view, they looked like a real horde of monsters that were crazily rushing towards their target. And it seemed that it was impossible to stop them no matter what.
Unfortunately for them, something unexpected happened.
Simba's voice suddenly resounded in the midst of this chaotic battlefield, saying. "It is your turn now!"
Whoosh!
Then a blurry silhouette cut through the line of sight of everyone while being accompanied by gusting wind.
And before anyone could have a clear look at what was it, that silhouette continuously rushed towards the werewolf boss with a speed that seemed to be impossible to stop.
Naturally, the werewolf boss would also notice the rushing figure towards it, especially that Simba finally disengages from the battle.
And since Cloe quickly casted an aggro-removing skill on Simba and herself, all of the attention of the werewolf boss would be directed to the first person that would enter its sight, especially if that person was directing some threat towards it.
Awoo~!
The berserk werewolf boss released a deafening howl before rushing towards the dashing silhouette that was coming towards it.
Then the werewolf boss and that silhouette brushed past each other after colliding very briefly.
And on the very next moment, when the werewolf boss stopped its tracks, its body suddenly exploded with a mass of black smoke before transforming into a bunch of items that fell on the ground.
It seems like that time suddenly stopped moving when everyone saw that sight. Not because of what they had witness or that the werewolf boss died right in front of them, but because they saw something that was hard to believe
They saw that the Werewolf Boss was killed by another werewolf.
All of them suddenly halted their tracks unconsciously so that they could have a clear look at this unknown werewolf that suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
The werewolf with smaller size but with a body built that was obviously strong even if you just took a look at it. It also had beautiful furs with a color that was similar to the dark sky of the night.
The pupils of its eyes were grey that gave a calm yet dangerous feeling. It stood on its spot majestically as if it was the king of all hunters in the wild.
And the moment that this werewolf turned its head towards players, most of them unconsciously took a couple of steps backwards for they felt an immense threat coming from this creature. There were even some that took multiple backward steps for they had weaker minds and willpower.
And while they were staring blankly at that werewolf, a series of System notifications sounded on everyone's ears, answering all of their confusions.
*Ding!*
System: Congratulations to Player 'Sickarius' and his party members, ***** and ****, for killing the First Master Wave Boss of this Monster Horde!

Luster
Growing up with her recently deceased mother’s addiction and her own struggles with gender identity, June Fujiwara was not a nice person. Gaining powers from nearly being murdered didn’t change that, and neither did becoming a mercenary to fund her transition. It took horrific manipulation, the resulting trauma, and the family that helped her through it all. Luster is a derivative work based on Worm by Wildbow (John C. McCrae) that begins prior to Worm and although it doesn't show straight away, the story is very AU.
