Child Of Destiny Chapter 247

Bang!
Shin sent a monster flying with a sword strike and made it collide with the other monsters that were rushing towards him.
After that, he quickly hopped backwards to get away from his current spot and dodged the two werewolves that pounced at him from his left and right sides.
And since the two werewolves lost their primary target, both of them tried to halt themselves and changed their directions. Unfortunately, it was already too late for the both of them since they could no longer stop their momentum and collided with each other with a loud sound.
Bang!
And before those two werewolves could control themselves, a magic circle with golden color appeared below them before releasing a brilliant light that devoured the two of them.
These werewolves were corrupted monsters so the effects of this magic circle that was currently releasing a holy light. And that holy light didn't only give them massive damage, but also weakened their bodies with considerable debuffing effects.
Then that was quickly followed by another attack; a crescent sword wave with pitch black color flew towards them and sliced through their bodies. And due to the light-related buffs that was casted on Shin earlier, coupled with his passive skills and special fire-related element that he had, the damage that this skill was more than enough to kill these pair of corrupted creatures in front of him.
But the surging wave of the werewolves that was coming on their way didn't just end there as more and more corrupted monsters were coming on his way.
Seeing these incoming monsters, Shin couldn't help but clicked his tongue and muttered to himself. "Tsk! Now, I am starting to regret why the heck I didn't choose the Nameless Swordsman identity on this event?"
"My currently identity is more focused on assassination and single target killing, whereas the Nameless Swordsman identity is more suited for mass killing since it has a lot of AOE skills on its arsenal."
But it was too late to regret anything now as everything was already set in motion. All he could do now was to do his best and be responsible at his choice.
Yes, he did regret not using his other identity for this event, but that didn't mean that he couldn't face these monsters with his current identity. He only thought about it out of convenience. But in actual fact, this persona of his also had a skill that could deal with this number of monsters.

First, he took a deep breath to regulate his breathing while closing his eyes to focus his mind. And the moment he re-opened his eyes.
Bang!
And invisible pressure burst out from his body as he released his Aura Manifestation of the Majestic Tiger.
Out of their instincts, the werewolves that were rushing towards Shin came into a sudden halt the moment that they felt the sudden outburst of pressure.
They paused on their spots for a brief moment, to look cautiously at Shin. But even if their instincts were telling them that continuing forward was a dangerous choice, their second nature to kill still overwhelmed it and resumed charging at their so-called 'prey'.
Though this choice was proven to be wrong a moment later.
Shin took advantage of that brief pause to make his next move. Both of his sabers were set ablaze with black flames as his body suddenly disappeared on his current spot.
A moment later, he reappeared behind one of the corrupted monsters before throwing a couple of sword slashes at the back of that werewolf with an unimaginable speed and created a bunch of sword silhouettes in the air.
And before that werewolf could do anything, Shin quickly thrust the [Dusk Blade] on his right hand. It pierced through from the monster's back to its chest. After getting stabbed by that attack, the werewolf died without putting much resistance.
But that assault didn't just end there as there were still a lot of werewolves. That was why Shin immediately started another cycle of that combo to kill another werewolf with the same manner. Then the process repeated itself for a couple of more times as he circled around the area.
Each of Shin's attacks is getting stronger and stronger as he killed a werewolf after another. Or to be more precise, the final stabs that he was sending to the monsters were stronger than the other.
And this skill was one of his Tier 2 Class related Skill.

Need a rapier to be used
-----------------
This skill was the skill that Shin got during his Class promotion trial. And even if he was currently using a pair of sabers now and not the required rapier for that Skill, he was still able to use it because of a skill that Simba had given him just recently.
-----------------
Skill Name: Sword Mastery
Skill Ranked: Special - III
Details:
1. This skill will give the user an ability to master different kinds of swords.
2. The user could also execute any sword skill with any sword type regardless of its restriction.
Bonus effect: Any sword skills will increase their ranks by 1 level but doesn't exceed the highest rank that the user had.
Current Highest Ranks: Tier 2 - Epic
-----------------
With these skills, Shin would become stronger and could kill more targets as long as he killed a single target at a time.
And now, as he used the 'Sunlight Wielding' to strengthen his attacks and the 'Ghost Evanescent' to dance around the battlefield, Shin was like a real grim reaper that was killing without having an intention to stop.
And with this new battle style of Shin that was full of hit run, coupled with his movement skills and footwork combat technique, made him more like an assassin style swordsman that he was aiming for this identity of his.
He didn't even have to worry about running out of target since he was currently in the middle of the werewolf pack. And ironically, the supposedly prey suddenly became the hunter; he looked more of a real beast that was locked inside the cage of dogs.
Well, Shin wasn't able to deal with these monsters this easily if not because of the two that were helping him directly or indirectly.
Simba, who was a little further forward from Shin, was limiting the corrupted monsters that were coming after the latter. He was only letting a limited amount of werewolves get past him, making sure that the number of those monsters were just enough for Shin to handle.
As for himself, that was also not a problem. For someone like him who was bearing the War God title, this kind of battle was the thing that he loved the most. Especially that he was a Berserker Related Class who would sacrifice a little blood in exchange of power. So, the more chaotic the battle, the stronger he could be.
Cloe, on the other hand, was throwing enough holy spells to limit the movements of the monsters that were surging towards Shin. And whenever there was a monster that was pouncing from Shin's very blind spot, she would always cast either a restrictive skill that could hinder the monsters' movements, or an offensive skill that was enough to stop the monster from attacking Shin.
Naturally, these corrupted werewolves were not that dumb for not noticing her. But that was only wishful thinking if they wanted to attack her. It was because the girl was currently being protected by a huge Golden Bear with golden light surrounding its body.
One look at the bear and the werewolves knew that the bear had a Holy Light energy which was their bane, so they rather attack Shin rather than attacking this bear.
Bypassing the golden bear and attacking Cloe was not that possible either. Because there were a couple of golden barriers overlapping around her. So, before they could even achieve getting near her, her pet would surely arrive in time and execute them immediately to protect its master.
And just like that, the trio slaughtered all of the werewolves that were coming after them bit by bit and all the way until the entire wave was done.
And that process continued until they reached the last and final wave of the day which also put a huge headache from the three.

Saga of the Jewels VOLUME ONE COMPLETE
Prefer to listen to rather than read Saga of the Jewels? I'm also releasing it as a free audibook serial podcast on iTunes here! Epic YA JRPG-influenced GameLit progression ensemble-cast steampunk romance fantasy! When Ryn’s hometown is destroyed, will he be able to gather together the twelve Primeval Jewels in order to defeat the evil Emperor and save the world of Mid? A fan novelization of an amazing Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist, that currently releases at least one chapter a month. Epic in that this will be very long. “It’s a marathon, not a sprint!” (-Kandaj) YA in that this should be enjoyable to~13-year-olds and upwards. Some gore, some swearing, some sex, but nothing more than PG-13. JRPG-influenced / GameLit in that it uses lots of JRPG tropes, particularly from Final Fantasy. I’ve read a lot of fan Final Fantasy novelisations and you can basically think of this as a fan novelisation of its own Final Fantasy game that doesn’t actually exist as a game... Progression in that the characters level up over time (though not with visible litrpg stat boxes). They grow in ability through training and experience, gain new skills, individually and as a party (think Chrono Trigger) and spend time discussing and stratgeising about how to defeat their opponents. Main protagonist from book three would definitely be able to defeat himself from book one! Ensemble-cast because we've got quite the roster of misfits here. The first volume is all from the main protagonist's POV, but it starts dancing between his and different POVs thereafter. Steampunk in that we’ve also got airships, steam trains, pistols and ambiguous ‘amber bars’ that function a bit like artificial lights… Romance in that there is lots of shipping here, a few love triangles, and you may be kept guessing as to who will actually end up together... Fantasy in that we’re in a vaguely pre-modern setting. We’ve got swords, magic, dragons, dungeons, monsters, all that good stuff. * "This story captures that Final Fantasy quality perfectly. Kiddy but also grim. The characters are great... Severely underrated and needs more favorites/follows. I look forward to seeing how this story will unfold." -Gilgamesh9999 "Starting at the end and jumping backwards is not a writing style seen every day. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical at first, but you've executed a fairly crazy idea very skillfully so far. Overall, a strong start to what could be a very strong story." -RandomFF.netUser "You definitely have my interest piqued. It'll be interesting to see where the story goes... It definitely has an 'old school Final Fantasy' type feel to it, which I appreciate...Good job! I am glad you are going into more details about the story you laid out in the prologue...of course the big burning question is 'You know they lose in the the first chapter, so how will they end up winning?' That of course, is the story you're writing...so we'll see how it goes! #Following." -KyleQuicksilver (quotes are from reviews on other sites) * If you enjoy it, don’t forget to boost Saga of the Jewels on topwebfiction.com!
